"Do I know them? The why would I care about them or what they are doing?" A+ list celebrity/rapper on his way out of Barney's when asked about whether he supported the racial profiling suit filed by African Americans against Barney's.
(Informer You know say daddy me snow me-a gon blame A licky boom-boom down 'Tective man he say, say Daddy Me Snow me stab someone down the lane A licky boom-boom down)
I highly doubt Jay-Z would be seen coming out of Barney's so close to this issue. If he was there would be at least ONE picture of it. But I guess all of the genuises above and below know of only one A+ rapper so...Think outside of the box
Isn't it only 2 people? How is that the entire black community?
That said, Kanye doesn't have to care, but it wouldn't hurt if he did. Isn't this the same dude who on national television stated, "George Bush doesn't care about black people."?
On the one hand, yeah, this is an important issue of institutional racism. It's deserving of attention, and something should probably be done about it.
On the other hand, why should Jay-Z be the "Go-To Guy" for all things black?
Jon, you are right, but he should be boycotting the store. im not even African American and Im offended and wldnt shop there. But truthfully, I dont shop there anyway, so moot point. But what Barneys and Macys are doing isnt right. And even more disturbing to me is the people who came forward after the first incident. In other words, being detained for a crime you DIDNT commit is just another day for African American. That is justs unacceptable.
I wouldnt shop there if i could because i believe the profiling. Whoever said this crap,(Jay Z or Kanye) is squandering a great teaching moment where he could have educated and uplifted ,even healed some of the racism, inequality, fear, hate and prejudice in this country with a big i have a dream type speech. To be so flippant and self absorbed is disgusting and wasteful.
I agree with whoever said this. Just because he's black doesn't mean he knows every black person or represents black people. People are individuals who only represent themselves. Only freaking morons think otherwise.
Kanye is a MUSICAL genius. He could be batsh=t crazy, but that should not affect how the fruits of his talent are rated. GENIUS! (said in Jon Lovitz voice)
Jay Z

ReplyDeleteKanye was at Barney's yesterday
ReplyDeleteIts like he went there just to b a jackass and make that unnecessary comment.
ReplyDeleteBut...but...but, Kanye's a genius!
ReplyDelete/eyeroll
+10,576!!!! He is almost a parody. I can't get over how serious he takes himself...

ReplyDelete@single man- Not Jay, it's Kanye...in another link.
Delete@Lotta, you're not thinking far enough out of the box! Single man knows it all! He's in love with love!
Delete@Seven- Bwahahaha! I'm upset that he didn't share his genius guess with us. :(
DeleteI think he should keep it in the box
Delete@Meanie he is god.
ReplyDeleteWhomever it is, I agree with him. He's not responsible for the problems of the entire black community.
ReplyDelete+1 Jon.

You know, I can actually see both sides of this.

ReplyDeleteWoe be the day when they try to make Kanye and Jay-Z the Rep. John Lewis and/or Harry Belafonte of the 21st century...LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with whoever said this. Just because he's black doesn't mean he knows every black person or represents black people. People are individuals who only represent themselves. Only freaking morons think otherwise.
ReplyDeleteClass tends to trump race, I think. The guy who was hassled at Barney's was one of the poors, therefore in a different category, in the rapper's mind.

ReplyDeleteObviously this is Kanye.
ReplyDeleteJay-Z does have a deal with Barney's and he's sticking with it.
I imagine Kanye's out there to show support for his boy.
I'm going with lil Wayne....or Drake aka Wheel chair Jimmy....
ReplyDeleteJayzus.
