If Genevieve Sabourin had a jury trial instead of a judge decided trial I think she would have a very good chance of getting off. Because a judge is deciding the case who already can't stand her and has already sentenced her to thirty days in jail for contempt I have a feeling he probably will find her guilty and sentence her to some type of probation. He is going to look ridiculous if he sentences her to 90 days in jail. Do you think that would deter her if she was still interested in stalking Alec? Do you want thousands more of NYC tax dollars to pay for a woman to be housed in jail because she had sex with a guy and wanted an explanation after he dumped her? OK, yes, she went beyond that but I think everyone on the planet thinks Alec slept with her and then she went overboard. I don't think it is deserving of 90 days in jail when you have people who have done far worse things to people and serve less time.
Final arguments are set for today and the judge will probably make his decision in the next few days.
She's totally a nut, but Alec is such dumb jerk for lying about sleeping with her.

the point isn't whether he slept with her and lied about it. it's not even about whether he 'properly' broke it off. she's broken the law by stalking him. stalkers are potentially dangerous and should be deterred---if that means some jail time, so be it. i don't get how him being a douchebag excuses what she's done. being a douchebag isn't illegal. stalking IS.

That said, people like Madonna's stalker, or Taylor Swift's stalkers, or Michael Jackson's stalker, or any major stalker, would love the kind of attention and pseudo-legitimacy this trial is giving this lady.

It can happen to women who are able to function in most other ways. I have a friend who's sister became convinced that the family priest was deeply in love with her,she even bought a wedding dress. She nearly ruined him career-wise, but eventually she did recover.

Making license plates or whatever it is you do in NY. I truly don't think any outcome other than jail would ever have happened. If I was on the jury, watching her freak out in court, reading/hearing the evidence, my biggest fear would have been any chance of her transferring her "affections" to a juror.
