Valerie Harper Eliminated From Dancing With The Stars

I really thought last night that Snooki would be eliminated from Dancing With The Stars. I believe she now holds the Jersey Shore record for longevity on the show. Dancing With The Stars' audience skews towards people who remember when Valerie Harper was on television and I'm not even talking about the show she did with Jason Bateman. I'm talking about the way back Valerie Harper in Rhoda and Mary Tyler Moore Show days. Maybe they all figured that everyone would vote for her so they didn't need to. I also assumed that because she is dying of cancer that people might want to keep her around a little longer. Nope. The 74 year old was sent packing instead of Snooki or Brant Daugherty who joined her in the bottom three.

  2. I think she did well on the show and it was her time to leave. She wasn't really doing well in keeping up with the dancers. And the "aww I feel bad for her" can only last so long. Even she said that all the judging was fair. I am glad they didn't give her sympathy points, cuz I don't think that's what she wanted. She had a good little run. I think we're getting down to the people who are really in it for the competition and weeding out the folks who were there just for people to talk about.

  4. She's not necessarily dying any time soon. People can live for a very long time with cancer.

I hope she had a blast!

  5. She's NOT dying of cancer--she HAS cancer. There's a BIG difference, MoronEnty.

  6. How sweet was Bill when he found out he was safe?! He was crying. Love him.
It was time for Valerie to go. She had a nice run.

  7. I love Bill too. We saw his show down at Atlantic City NJ this past Saturday and he brought his partner (introduced her to the audience) along with him because they had to keep practicing. No wonder he was tired last night - all that travel.

During his routine (which was a riot) he mentioned that he had knee surgery in March so that he is doing this well is great.

  8. I didn't see Snooki this week but her first dance was really good--much better than I expected.

Valerie danced like a 74 yr old, which was not going to keep up with what the younger dancers are doing. She seems to be in remission--not dying--good for her for tackling this--she seems to have had a great time.

  9. I just adore her. I think she had fun and it was just time to go because her knee was giving her fits. And she's gotta be tired from the cancer treatments, even if she is close to being in remission. You could tell that she had a blast and everyone who worked with her loved having her there. Well-done, Val!
