The policeman pulled behind their car once again and Ms. Johnson told the police they were taking a photo. The policeman then asked if they had drugs in the car and pulled out his gun on the pair. He told Cherie that a warrant had been issued for her arrest which was a lie. When they asked if this was because they were black the officer cuffed the pair and said they looked like drug dealers and probably had a dead body in the trunk and asked to search it. They let him and he found nothing and eventually let them go.
The Sheriff says he is investigating the situation and told CNN that the Deputy is also being investigated. You know nothing will happen and that it happens everyday but just doesn't get reported on CNN.
Now that's a headline that I didn't see coming.

I would be interested in seeing a picture, maybe they did look like drug dealing murderers? It would seem odd to me too if someone stopped around an open field who clearly didn't belong there.

ReplyDeleteFunny, I just recently stopped my car to take a photo of a sunset behind a cornfield. Good thing there weren't any cops around, I could have been booked for murder for being suspicious of stopping to take a freakin photo!!!!
I hope she still dresses like she's on Punky Brewster! Is that the most recent picture of her out there? Wouldn't that actually be sadder than her getting arrested?

ReplyDeleteI got questioned the other day for parking my car in my neighborhood pool parking lot while I jogged around the lake. Cop pulled up, all lights flashing and tried to tell me how suspicious the situation was because it was so late at night (9pm), I was parked in an empty lot (at the front &directly under a street light) and had a sandwhich bag on my front seat. In good ole Texas suburbia.
