Oscar Pistorius Faces New Charges In Murder Case
It seems like forever ago that the world was buzzing with Oscar Pistorius news and his murdering his girlfriend and then getting bail and making South Africa look really bad especially when the lead detective/witness against him also faced murder charges. Today, prosecutors in the case added two charges against Oscar Pistorius. They are gun charges which took place before the actual killing. In South Africa they are allowed to lump a bunch of charges together that only have to be mildly related to the main case. What this allows the prosecution to do is to save face when they fail in prosecuting the guy for murder. I think they are banking on at least getting a conviction on the gun charges so they can claim victory.
The murder happened in February and the trial is set for next March at the earliest. It does have a set date but they have been known to change and get postponed for months or even years.
The Enties barely know the law here, now they're speculating on S. African law?
ReplyDeleteIs that like an Almost Update?
ReplyDeleteThis guy is totally gonna walk away from this shit. I guess whether he walks depends on if he has his legs on or not.
ReplyDeleteHa! @ttm ;)
ReplyDeletehasn't Aaron Hernandez been charged with multiple offenses in relation to the murder of Odin Lloyd? In addition isn't he now being investigated for gun trafficking (which could lead to additional charges)? How is this so different than what SA is doing in the case of Pistorius?
Tink Tink will get away with this. I have no confidence in legal systems in many countries, but particularly SA.
ReplyDeleteI was there many years ago, and at the time there was a case going on about a gang rape. The victim was infected with HIV. The defendants lawyers delayed the case for years, until the victim died of an AIDS-related illness. Case dismissed as there was no victim to give evidence.
