I have had repeated requests for a place to talk about subjects not in the blog that day so this is your place to discuss or say what you like each day.
Yes, I have a class ring. I wear it in my left nipple. In my right nipple I wear my ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-boyfriend's pinky ring. I hang eco-friendly hemp bags from both. What's in those bags, you ask? Coffee shop receipts. Half of a dried up PB&J sammy from 11 years ago.
Freya - About a year or so ago some of the oldtimers (for lack of a better word) set up a blog to talk about what was going on at CDAN. I went there a few times until it got blocked. Don't know if they still use it but it was funny because they would talk about other commenters here- esp if there was a spat involving one of them. I think at about the same time enty did try to set up some OT site but I never went there, why would you.
It's a badge of honour to be a legit arsehole. I'm struggling to transfer that to real life, but I did slam kick a drunken bitch who sucker punched me in the mosh pit this past weekend, so I'm well on my way. Still an arsehole padawan.
I have a question! Will there be a new OT every day or will this just be moved to the top day after day? I'm really curious: just how is this supposed to work?
I just wanted to thank the people here who bought my CD "dirty red pagan". If you're interested in some pretty good, different music coming from one of the contributors here, please visit my website at gilbertneal.com. I shill becUse I love.
I am quite shocked at the lack of media attention that Lou Reeds death has not gotten. I know his music is considered not mainstream but c'mon he is a legend! The Velvet Underground changed music.
@Derek...I'm quite shocked too. Lou Reed was great.
I want to talk about the illegal Chinese guy who came to the US, who murdered his cousin's entire family (wife and 4 kids), while the cousin was at work. It was all out of jealousy, because he felt his cousin was doing better than him, and wanted to take it all away from him.
Ive always wanted to ask count jerkula if he had a connection~tenuous or otherwise~ with the Howard stern show....outside of being a fan. I really enjoy the count & Vip. Thanks!
Does anyone ever imagine that perhaps some of the negativity here is due to celebs who don't like how they've been portrayed (or their publicists, friends, etc.) and thus try to sabotage the site, or merely change the subject in some cases?
For example, I remember when a few new people showed up a few years ago (in the "move that cone" days, haha) to go on and on about how much they loved Lindsey and how 'talented' she was, 'leave her alone,' etc. It definitely seemed fishy, they were called on it, and they disappeared.
I am sure that publicists probably have people follow some of the these sites (don't know if CDAN is influential enough for them to bother) but can easily see them also planting comments if they thought it would make a difference. That being said it is very hard to stop public opinion esp on a site like this- the commenter would just get flamed.
I am devastated that Lou Reed had such a horrific death. Greg Allman has a liver transplant and they just announced a tribute concert for him in Atlanta in January. I hope he's not dying.
@LetLove - It's very possible, but I'm not sure they'd think to come here right away. Wouldn't they go to *shiver* Perez first and comment there? Years ago, the place a celeb (or one of their people) would go was their IMDB message board. I witnessed with my own eyes a certain actor who was in the last two Star Wars movies post on his IMDB page. He was fighting a losing battle against the haters in trying to defend his "acting". Poor guy.
I don't miss any of the supposed old timers. The only one I would miss is VIP cause she's the nancy drew of this site. Everyone else made this page childish and loved to have their own inside jokes all the time that made me feel like they knew each other in real life cause there is no way bloggers can become bff's just because they write on the same page everyday. It just showed how little lives they had.
Skimpymist - the blog I referenced earlier was a kick to visit until it got blocked. Very clickish and when they figured out that anyone could link to it they made it private or closed it down. Completely agree with your comment- a lot of inside jokes and didn't acknowledge anyone else.
Hello everyone, happy Monday. I'm an old, old, old timer who doesn't care who the real Enty is. Life changes for everyone and it's the commenters who make this site. Always have, always will. That's my five cents. Peace out Girl Scout.
@Jason, I feel sorry for him too, but those later Star Wars movies are awful all the way around, IMO. I don't consider them a part of the canon, LOL.
Texas, I'm sure most of them don't bother here, and probably hang out at TMZ and/or Perez. The pro-Lindsey posts on the old "move that cone" topic got exactly the kind of drubbing you mention.
Hi again, Califblondy. I don't care either. It's interesting to speculate briefly perhaps, but I've wondered if those posts particularly were the work of celeb camp members. Ad hominem attacks are one way people being criticized often try to deflect, it seems.
I have wondered about a lot of things over the years, but years ago I got called out for wondering so I keep it to myself. Well, most of the time. I never fit in any clique so I never got my undies in too much of a bunch that I stopped coming here. These days the most wondering I do is regarding the Count's comments. I wish he supplied diagrams or drawings. I didn't say pictures because I get a feeling that might be too much. Although VIP's pictures are never too much. ;)
Where is the Count hiding? Did the Dunkin' Donuts coffee spill kill the lap top? He never goes this long without at least a comment of love and some form of twisted affection. :)
@Seven: Back in 2011 there was a story about Lindsay Lohan being shadowed by a reporter for Plum Magazine named Jacquelynn D. Powers. It was a total cluster, with Lindsay acting a fool at every turn, so eventually she just wrote about that. Here's an excerpt:
“As we pulled up to the Fontainebleau, a bright-orange parking cone was blocking the entrance,” Powers writes. “Not accustomed to waiting, apparently, she lowered the car’s window and shouted, ‘Move that cone. I’m Lindsay Lohan.’
“And it was done.”
It's a pretty funny read actually, too bad I couldn't find the old CDAN post.
Braverwoman: I didn't even bother to mention it to work mates, as Lou wasn't on Australia's got talent, nor on X Factor. I have nothing to talk to people about, at work. No one cares to discuss the new Liberal Gov raising our debt ceiling. They watch Today Tonight. I watch Q & A.
Lou Reed's passing has been on every news show all of last night and all day today. I am surprised to hear people saying he isn't getting coverage. Not sure if NY is giving his death more coverage since he lived here.
About 25 years ago I read every single book I could find on the whole Andy Warhol scene. Lou Reed was such a big part of the Factory. What a sad way for him to end up.
I wonder how OT we can all get in an OT forum Reminds me when my teacher gave us one small area if wall to paint on. We supposedly got it out of our system, but funnily enough, naughty pictures and words like "bum" and "fart" still ended up scrawled on the grade three clean wall.
I have to take a shit but it's stuck in my asshole like a stopper. Earlier today. I had the first solid shit I've had in months. I have been plagued for years by persistent diarrhea, mostly of stomach acid that burns my 'roids, and the back of my toilet is splattered with shit bombs my asshole vomited.
No thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat, so now even more people will whine when someone goes off topic on a normal thread.
ReplyDeleteLotta: as long as there's cheese with the whine (and actual wine) I'm up for it
DeleteHahahahahahahahaha FSP
ReplyDeleteI have nothing to say on this topic.
So, how's this weather we're having? It certainly is weather. *insert awkward pause*.
DeleteYeah, I don't see this working out great.
ReplyDeleteBut, um...How 'bout that Good Wife? Cray, Huh?

ReplyDeleteYou already set an entire website up for a similar purpose that no one uses, so I don't get this question.
ReplyDeleteThere's another website? Didn't know about it. I've only been here for less than a year.
DeleteFreya - About a year or so ago some of the oldtimers (for lack of a better word) set up a blog to talk about what was going on at CDAN. I went there a few times until it got blocked. Delete+1 @elle. No kidding!
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, Lotta dear, the complaints about off-topic will be off the charts.
Too little, too late, Enty/s. :)
God we are such assholes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love it.
It's a unique skill set we've mastered.
DeleteIt's a badge of honour to be a legit arsehole. I'm struggling to transfer that to real life, but I did slam kick a drunken bitch who sucker punched me in the mosh pit this past weekend, so I'm well on my way. Still an arsehole padawan.

ReplyDeleteLOL @ Sugar!! :D
ReplyDeleteAre you doing this so people like Mooshki and Jax won't 'leave' again?
ReplyDeleteSo, with no topic, this is kind of like our Tenuous Thread.
ReplyDelete*sniff* It's like the circle of life.
I just wanted to thank the people here who bought my CD "dirty red pagan". If you're interested in some pretty good, different music coming from one of the contributors here, please visit my website at gilbertneal.com. I shill becUse I love.
ReplyDeleteSo I won't be as snarky as everyone else.. JBE, yes, the Good Wife was quite good last night!
ReplyDeleteI am quite shocked at the lack of media attention that Lou Reeds death has not gotten. I know his music is considered not mainstream but c'mon he is a legend! The Velvet Underground changed music.
ReplyDeleteA-fucking-men @ Derek.
DeleteWhere is V.I.P? Is she a lady or a gay man?
ReplyDelete@Alist Ha! Love it!!
Deletelol I always wondered that Alist
ReplyDelete@Derek...I'm quite shocked too. Lou Reed was great.

VIP you are HILARIOUS lollll
ReplyDeleteHere's a cute and funny video -- http://bit.ly/1aaK2VK
ReplyDeleteHer answer
ReplyDeleteshould have been #1 ;)
I remember when Enty used to disable the anonymous comments section on these open thread posts.
ReplyDeleteanyone saw boardwalk empire last night?
ReplyDeleteI DID! I've been missing the Richard and Michael Shannon story lines but I'm very glad there's been a lot of Chalky this year.
DeleteHey Sugar, could you please check your email? Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteIve always wanted to ask count jerkula if he had a connection~tenuous or otherwise~ with the Howard stern show....outside of being a fan. I really enjoy the count & Vip. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI accidentally watched The Governer's Wife last night. Anyone else?

It seems possible to me, anyway.

ReplyDeleteGreg Allman is alive?!?!?!
DeleteEnty, why are you constantly posting about people you apparently hate?
ReplyDeleteAll that negativity is not good for you.

DeleteTexasrose: sounds like Mean Girls. Except much more middle aged and ugly
DeleteWho was the actor, Jason?
ReplyDelete@Jason---I would imagine it was Hayden Christiansen
ReplyDelete@Derek You're probably right, but in my head I'm pretending it's Jar Jar Binks :)

ReplyDelete@VIPblond, Annalynne, I just love, love you!
@Rowan, Count has been real busy down my panties.
Btw, Jax, I mean, Enty, will you ever acknowledge your show on E?
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Lou Reed's passing. NO ONE at my work today knew who he was. Cept one guy who knew Walk on the Wild Side. (Shakes head.)

LOL move that cone story is the best thing I've heard all day.

I wonder how OT we can all get in an OT forum

ReplyDelete@ relatively small G : he fucking OD'd on AWESOMENESS!
