When did your parents first let you drive a car? Not just hold the steering wheel while they lit a cigarette or cracked open a beer, but actually in the driver's seat doing the actual driving. The next question to ask is whether it was on a farm or whether it was on the streets of a major metropolitan city. Well, Billy Ray Cyrus must owe his daughter a big favor because he let Noah, who last I checked is about 13 drive around the streets of their neighborhood this weekend.
Noah, who famously once modeled lingerie and hit a stripper pole to be ready to follow in her older sister's footsteps was driving a Fiat around with Billy Ray in the passenger seat. Apparently the Fiat was given to Noah and she was tired of driving on their driveway and wanted real experience. She got it, but didn't get a ticket because only the paps saw it and now the police.
While I was allowed to move the car from one parking spot to another at the house, I was not allowed to drive until I had my learner's permit. I wonder if BRC was under the influence of something and decided it was best that she deive so he didn't risk a DUI.

I was 11-12. It was from the top of the road to the driveway, about 1/8 mile.

DeleteFirst off, the car is supposed to eventually be "her" car. I had one at 14, that I practiced on until legal and I got to take ownership. Please list all of the accidents, DUIs, arrests, and other offenses committed by Trish, BR, Miley, Trace, Bryson, or Brandi, someone. I'll wait.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was 13 I drove through most of Quebec, highway all the way. My dad did take over for Montreal, but handed it back over after. I think he wanted a nice long nap. It was fine. But I had been driving all over back roads for about a year at that time

ReplyDeleteFirst started driving a tractor sitting in Grandad's lap when I was just a tiny tot. Drove it by myself as soon as I could reach the pedals. Same for car. Sat on Mom's lap until I could reach the pedals. Lived in rural N. GA and this is how all of us learned to drive.

ReplyDeleteI learned to drive up and down my residential street at 13. My dad would pick me up and let me drive home from high school at 14. I'm happy he did these things. I had two years of practice before I took any tests. He helping her become a safer driver in the long run.

ReplyDeleteLike many I started learning to drive sitting in my parents lap steering the wheel. I think I graduated up to driving at around 11 on back roads and side streets.
Tweens for both of my kids, by the time they were old enough to get a learners permit they were pretty good drivers.
ReplyDeleteI was allowed to drive when I was 12. I was sitting in the passengers seat and my father let me just steer and drive down our block. He was in the drivers seat and controlling the pedals.
ReplyDeleteI once took the car for a joy ride around the parking lot at 16 yrs old, while my mom was in the store (she didn't know). Boy did I get in trouble when I crash into another car and ripped the bumper off. My mom punished me and I wasn't allowed to get my license until 17-1/2.

ReplyDeleteI got to drive the Vega around the radio station where mom worked and I swear I drove that car to man the phones for a sports talk show when I was maybe 15. And it was a looong drive too. But as it was a Sunday evening in NC nobody was driving and the roads were deserted.
And I thought Noah was a boys name too.
I am not as appalled at the fact she was driving with her dad around the neighborhood as I am that HER PARENTS BOUGHT THEIR 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER A CAR!!!!!
