Do you realize it was twenty six years ago that Color Me Badd got together and first started thinking about how to terrorize the world with songs like I Wanna Sex You Up? Well, Bryan Abrams from the group has a warrant out for his arrest in Oklahoma which is where he lives now. Back in April, Bryan was charged with his twelfth domestic violence incident and given probation. He had certain things he needed to do as part of that probation and hasn't done any of them. His wife at the time is currently divorcing him.
How can you be busted for domestic violence 12 times in less than a decade and only receive counseling? Since he is blowing that off I guess he doesn't think anything will happen to him except a few hours of inconvenience when he gets booked. Apparently Oklahoma doesn't take domestic violence that seriously.
This was the Vanilla Ice one, right? Whatever happened to the other ones? You know, the Kenny G one, the George Michael one and the Terence Trent D'Arby one?
ReplyDeleteLol The "Kenny G one" is a music producer and songwriter and he's married to Tamyra Gray, who was on American Idol aaaaaaaagggggges ago. The rest of them, I have no idea about.
DeleteTerence Trent T'Darby! That's a blast from the past!
ReplyDeleteFlashback Friday

ReplyDeletehe broke his probation
@MerryB I like Sign Your Name Across My Heart, too.
ReplyDeleteHA! I remember when these tools played an assembly at my high school in '88. (They were still known as the Levi 501 commercial guys then.) They spent the entire time on campus trying to pick up 10th graders. lol
ReplyDeleteAll I remember about them is their inability to spell and their plucked eye brows.
ReplyDeleteFSP - OMG. Your character analysis is spot on. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteYay TTD!!! Sign Your Name was just soooo good. I still dj that song.
ReplyDeleteI am gonna have Wishing Well in my head all morning, not a badd thing
ReplyDeleteI was probably 11 or 12 and knew all of the words to I Wanna Sex You Up. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI always associate TTD with We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off although I know it is Jermaine someoneorother. Uh huh! Same time period
ReplyDeleteugh, these guys used to live in the town next to me in LI. They were in Glen Cove. They would drive around in a station wagon trying to pick up teenage girls when they had a few hit songs out. It was embarassing watching them pander for attention.
ReplyDeleteThey were all gross.
hahaha @talkstoomuch omg i have that on vinyl from when i was younger...Jermaine Stewart. We dont have to take our clothes off. To have a good time, oh no. we can dance and party, all night! and crink some cherry wine, ah huh.
ReplyDelete26 years!! Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteThey always remind me of the movie New Jack City.
Cheesy song for a ridiculous movie.
Even when I was a 12 year old girl I knew how tacky they were.
Oh, and I love TTD. Pity he's such an arsehole.
TTD's best tune is "If you let me stay."
ReplyDeleteAll for Love....
12 CHARGES?!?! Shit if he lived over here, I'm proud to say, he would be locked up for a long minute.
ReplyDeleteAnd I co sign with all lovers of Terrence Trent D'Arby.....sign ur name is still one of my fave songs ever.
ReplyDeleteThat video! Those guys were badd ass!
ReplyDeleteFunny that he's still working the same sculpted beard on a now much larger chin.
ReplyDeleteOMG...I'd never seen this video (thanks VIP)!! Now I know what inspired D*ck in a Box!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think I am still 20 years old until I read that Color Me Badd was 26 freakin' years ago. My girlfriends and I went to see them and Paula Abdul in concert.
ReplyDelete@FSP - Yes! My friends and I described them the same way!
ReplyDeleteAhh, Color me Badd were on one of my favorite Beverly Hills 90210 episodes ever where Donna's mom gets caught cheating at the hotel where CMD is staying. Oh to go back to the early 90's.
ReplyDeleteOk. Ok. I have to admit I LOVED THESE GUYS !!!!! No one can obsess like a teenage girl and I was like 13 when they first hit the the charts. I bought all of the albums (inc the remixes :) and had their Tiger Beat posters on my binder in my locker. Ahhh...and Bryan was my favorite. As a matter of fact, I saw them here in Oceanside last month with Tone Toni Tony and Jon B. Bryan was waaaaaay out of shape and could barely sing. The other 2 (Sam left the group) kept looking at him like he was going to explode. So sad. He has problems for sure.
