Blind Items Revealed
January 13, 2013
This former B+ list actor who is also an Academy Award winner/nominee was working on developing something for television just so he could get some work. The show would have probably been picked up if our actor had been able to actually act. Too many drugs in his past and he now does everything like he is doing Shakespeare in the park or something. Maybe he should try reality television. Long way down the entertainment ladder from where he once was.
Cuba Gooding Jr.
sad
ReplyDeleteThat is too bad. He had a lot of promise back in the Jerry McGuire days.
ReplyDeleteTo bad, so sad.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame.
ReplyDelete"Too many drugs in his past" yet Charlie is still going strong.
ReplyDelete@Freya, maybe it's the money, maybe it's the handlers. I don't know, but these days Charlie seems to handle his massive drug consumption better than most. Work - shows up, knows his lines, generally pleasant to coworkers. Haven't heard about any nasty domestics since he and Denise came to their arrangement.
DeleteI don't follow him, this is just a view from afar - I'm not excusing his history with domestic violence. He just seems to have his drug-taking, hooker-loving, family-man, working actor lifestyle in balance these days.
Well, he was co-starring with Cicely Tyson and Vanessa Williams on Broadway in "A Trip to Bountiful" as recently as this past June.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, though, that he was absolutely awful. His character was a disillusioned mama's boy with a trophy wife. He played it like he was a pouty toddler, literally with a pout the entire time. No finesse, no depth, just pouty with his head hanging low. Very disappointing.
Isn't he on a Tv show this season?
ReplyDeleteNo one said it
ReplyDeleteShow me the fucking money, you washed up turd
Maybe that could be the premise of his sitcom. A washed up actor trying to get roles and playing everyone like Richard III. Almost like "Extras".Seriously I've seen worse ideas for tv.
ReplyDeleteEh, he was never that great. Yeah, he's fallen. But he shouldn't have ever been as high as he was. He was good in "JM," no doubt. But he wasn't Oscar-good. And he sure as hell shouldn't have beaten Edward Norton, who was amazing in "Primal Fear."
ReplyDeleteYasss! Preach it! Norton is a throbbing dick boil, sitting on the world's collective asshole, (only dealt with him once, and it was brief/way jerkified, than I thought possible), his only saving grace, is he's a great actor.Flicks like Primal Fear and American History X, he was just fabulous.
DeleteI will always love him for Radio.
ReplyDeleteThough not starring roles, Cuba has been working

Wondering if this is really a few years old. He did have a dry spell for a while. But he was in Red Tails last year and The Butler this year along with some other stuff.
ReplyDeleteCharlie just plays himself on TV. It's not really acting.

ReplyDeleteTerance Howard was in the 1st Iron Man. He was replaced by Don Cheadle. Speaking of Cuba Gooding, he can always put in some goofy toofys and do another radio movie.
DeleteCuba made a pilot for a TV series this year but it was not picked up by a network. He is a prolific actor but only in direct to video. There are a few good ones, usually when there is a better than average script, but most aren't. He might make in the low hundreds of thousands per movie but I suspect that has been going down as the years progress.
