Blind Item #9
This A list mostly television actor from a very hit cable show has a secret with his significant other that goes way back to when they first started dating. Apparently she got pregnant and gave birth and they gave up the baby for adoption because they were trying to make it big still and didn't have the time or money to raise the kid.

ReplyDeletecould this be Rob Lowe?
ReplyDeleteAs amused as I usually am on this website, this post isn't necessary. A couple are happy parents because of this decision. They should be praised for doing the right thing, not gossiped about.
ReplyDeleteSenor: i like this comment.
DeleteJennifer and John
ReplyDeleteThey did a good thing- they knew they wouldn't be good parents.
ReplyDeleteIf true this adds a lot of subtext to the really powerful Mad Men scene where Don visits Peggy after she has her baby and gives it up for adoption. "This never happened. It will shock you how much this never happened."
ReplyDeleteTotally.
DeleteI'm sure for their part, bittersweet, but I'm sure they are happy knowing their child was placed in a loving and stable home (hopefully).
ReplyDeleteAsston & Mila
ReplyDeleteAshton and Mila. She was very young at the time of that 70's show; 15 I think. She lied about her age to get on the show.
ReplyDeleteI agree. They did the right thing. They knew they weren't ready for whatever reason (money, personal ambition, etc) and they gave a gift to someone who had probably been struggling for years to have children. They enriched a couples' and a childs' life. Give them a medal.
ReplyDeleteAshton isn't on a cable show.
ReplyDeleteSeems like all involved did the right thing. Dont reveal. In my life, i inadvertedly found out parentage of two children, who are now adults. I never said a word, and I never will.
ReplyDeleteI can always appreciate when people realize they would be too selfish to properly care for children and try to give them a better life. They didn't keep the baby because they felt it was expected. Accidents happen and it sounds like the only time it did.
ReplyDelete@Cee Kay: Wasn't that 70's on cable?
ReplyDelete(I have no idea, not from the US:)
Don't reveal this. I'm all for revealing cheaters and molesters but I'd rather not know who this is. They did what they thought was right and this should not be gossip.
ReplyDeleteIt will come out one day anyway, always does. we have a family on our street with 4 kids. One is adopted, which she knows. But what she doesn't know is that her aunt, is her bio mom. Everyone else on the street knows, including my kids who are friends with her. Too many people know for it to me a secret. just a matter of time. remember joni Mitchell did this.
ReplyDeleteHamm. Child has a right to know about its famous parentage.
ReplyDeleteIt's already been revealed because almost everyone is guessing the same couple. Now it's being repeated on other sites. Enty should have kept his mouth shut on such a private and personal issue. Shame on Enty.
ReplyDeleteJon Hamm. This is probably how his girlfriend has been able to hold on to him for so long without him dumping her for someone attractive. I never understood why he would stay with someone so plain and frumpy.
ReplyDelete@V: THere is no way for them to know if it was a stable and loving home unless it was an open adoption and it sounds like its closeted and closed.
ReplyDeleteSHerry: Adoptees are not gifts and adoptees do experience trauma from the separation. Just can't listen to the same tripe. When it works, it's grand. When it doesn't, it can cost an adoptee their life.
Auntliddy: HOnesty is best whether its adoption or donor conception, etc. You are right, though, it's not your place to disclose if you aren't the parent.
Me: Hope an adult can step up and be honest with the children. Kids know when there are secrets and lies - great movie by the way on the subject!
