Blind Item #7

This foreign born C+ list mostly movie actress with B list name recognition who sometimes models has a very big secret. The secret is so big that she won't even do any interviews ever for fear it will be brought up. The only time she will do any interviews is if she knows exactly the questions that will be asked and if she gets final editing just in case it is asked. It is about something that happened when she was 8. This will be revealed.

  1. Liz Hurley? Or am I being too generous with the ratings?

Hope it's not anything utterly horrific, especially if she was a child when it happened.

  2. What confuses me is why she should expect questions on it unless she has been going around talking about it. Whatever it is.

  3. If its a secret, then how would...you know what, I quit.

  4. Paulina Porizhkova. Part of a huge international custody battle as a child.

  5. Something that happened when she was eight?! The fact this would be used against her is pathetic,

  6. Is Paulina Ric Ocaseks (sp) wife?
I love 'em both, hope is was nothing terrible.

  7. I think we can all expect a reveal of the name, but not the secret. So that should be fun!

So, she was 8 in 1986... OMG, she blew up The Challenger?!

So, she was 8 in 1963... OMG, she killed Kennedy?!

So, she was 8 in 1994... OMG, she's what was inside Marsellus Wallace's briefcase?!

  8. Why would you Enties reveal something that happened to a person when she was 8, for fuck's sake?

Save it; I don't want to hear it.

And I'm sick of your bottom of the barrel stupid ass so-called "blinds."

  9. porizkova B Name recognition? Joking, right :-)

  10. That sounds sad since it involves her being a child.

  11. @figgy: +1
i "like" how Enty protects the pedophiles in his blinds but never the victims

and i don't see how a C list actress/ model can control the editing of an interview
i remember Cameron Diaz wanted to know the editing of an interview and the journalist refused

  15. what if she killed someone by mistake? it does not have to be abuse all the time..
still do not necessarily want to know, though

  16. @French Girl: everybody has the right to approve inteview based material before it is published. especially when stated and agreed on that upfront.

If the journalist "overheard" something, researched it, found it, you can not edit that, but you may have the chance to make your own statement.

    1. @Unknown No I we has the "right" to approve interview material before its published (unless the journalist agreed to this prior, which they usually don't).

It's called free press. The interviewee can but limits on what's asked, but not what's written.

  17. Not for this blind in particular, but in general:

Accusing someone of pedophelia (or any crime, really) is actionable, no matter what "disclaimers" are visible at page bottom.

  18. Please have the decency not to reveal this. It's not okay, even though the person is no longer 8. He or she clearly still worries over whatever it is and does not want it revealed. He or she believes, probably correctly, that he or she will be judged detrimentally by his or her 8 year old conduct. So don't reveal.
I really cannot believe I have to implore someone not to be an asshole!

  19. Who wants to bet that all the commenters complaining about how they're sick of Enty and have had it with Enty will be back here tomorrow commenting?

  20. @figgy quit your whining.

  21. @Unknow:
the interview is the property of the journalist or the newspaper

remember Michael Douglas's interview for The Gardian about his cancer
even if his publicist was there during his interview,he was't able to re-read the interview .
The journalist has no obligation to show the final edited interview

    1. Any celeb that doesn't insist on final say on interviews, has beyond shitty PR and management. I worked, briefly, with some famous folks and they parsed my every word, and basically told me nothing, and I was there to help them.

  22. I know that I’m a spaz and I should be the last one to say this, but everyone please CALM DOWN!
It says something “that happened” when she was 8. Not that something happened TO her. Maybe she was a witness to something juicy/scandalous/illegal/infamous or involved in a court case. The possibilities are endless. Sheeesh. Happy Friday!

  23. I'm with @figgy. Childhood trauma shouldn't have to be re-lived over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  24. My first thought is it involved in the death of a child (sibling or friend) like in Bridge to Terabithia. Can you imagine how traumatic that would be to an 8 year old, and why someone wouldn't want to talk about it even decades later? Leave her and secret be.

    ReplyDelete
  25. well, most people who give interviews just don´t really care to discuss this prior to the interview mostly because it is also in their interest to get press coverage. And basically tabloids are in general not really keeping boundaries at all.

and yes, articles and copyrights are the authors/magazine rights, but only after publishing them.

you also can send in your own "interviews" if you want.

as there are rules about who is protected as "source" for information - to ensure the safety and protection from eventual blasts against them so there are rules about your content you share, because of the same reason of you being protected.

but again, with tabloids it really does not matter, since they publish all sorts of stuff and fictions anyway, without bothering themselves about anything. to be later resolved in court. eventually...

  26. Just read the wiki page for Paulina, how sad. Not saying it was her, but I'm so glad she found love and peace with Ric

    ReplyDelete
  27. If this person is worried about reporters asking her about her "secret", it isn't really a secret then since it must be common knowledge, at least in media circles. So whatever her "secret" is, it's probably only a big deal to her and not likely to be scandalous (abuse/drugs etc). But even if it is no big deal, I can see there might be things people just do not want to talk about in public.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wouldn't Paulina be a model first? Charlize doesn't fit the rating by FAR.

What would be brought up? If it was sexual violence, then who gets interviewed about their parents or relatives? Offspring of celebrities. If it's domestic abuse, it has to be someone related to a popular person who might be asked about.

I thought Rose McGowan but I sincerely hope that poor girl doesn't have another secret to hide. She grew up in a cult!

Alice Eve wasn't a bad guess.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Can't be Paulina. If it's on wikipedia, it's not a secret and she wouldn't be avoiding interviews.

Alice Eve has done plenty of interviews over the past 5 years.

  32. Rose mcGowan barely models anymore, believe she did it as a kid and did an add for Bebe. That's it.

But I am afraid this is her, her childhood was all kinds of messed up.She has and has had tons of issues. Phobias etc.. Rooting for her, i like her.

NOt a lot of fun info; but in the Children of God cult it is normal to have sex with kids (as an adult, even if you are related). :((((
She has revealed some info about her cult life in the past and it was weird, but nothing too disturbing. There has to be more, otherwise she wouldn't be so F'd up now. :(

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah I don't think that if it is something that happened to the child that it should be revealed. There's a reason they don't want it brought up and no one should have to live through that pain again.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Pretty sure the secret isn't going to be revealed, just the person who has the secret. And it's just lovely that so many of you assume she was sexually assaulted. How the hell would that be public knowledge that she could be asked about?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I bitch about Enty all the time, but still come back I enjoy bitching about fake Enty. :-)

It is fucking lame that victims of sexual abuse are "outed" left and right, but never those who are the abusers.

Himmm always posts shit about victims of rape and pedophilia, and I always am left wondering why people like his comments. Not only is the guy far from an actor, but he is also a giant douchebag.

Sorry... you're wrong on many counts here. I'm a former print journalist. In rare, very rare, instances a very well-known person can use their clout to pre-approve an interview before it is published, or get the questions beforehand but this is not the norm at all. Any journalist or publication who grants final approval to the subject is scorned and loses all credibility. They are an extension of the PR machine if they do that. I never did it.

Movie junket interviews are an entirely different beast. The entertainment reporters (most of them are not journalists) censor themselves and ask questions they know will not offend. Otherwise, the studio will not turn over the tape of the interview.

When negotiating for an interview, a lot can be asked of you beforehand with regard to what topics to avoid, or what things they would like included. I always had a very specific angle for my interviews and would share this when asking for an interview. If they wanted to participate on those terms, great. If not, oh well.

One more thing, you said that a lot of subjects never ask beforehand about the questions, approvals etc because they just want the publicity. They may not ask what the questions are, but every single person i have ever interviewed (hundreds) want a lot of details on the article before they agree to participate. They ask themselves or they have their reps do it.

    What is the topic?
    Where is it being published?
    Will it be syndicated?
Who else is being interviewed for the article?
    How many words?

Then there is some joking around when they ask if they are going to be slammed in the article - it is presented as a joke, but they are serious. They are trying to figure out if you're going to do a hatchet job on them.

Also, what you were writing about rights... rights are in place whether the article is published or not. If a piece is commissioned, generally the publisher owns the article and decides whether to syndicate it and so forth. If the writer negotiates to own the rights and syndicate it to a particular publication, then exclusivity windows are negotiated. Writers try hard to keep ownership of their work, but the trend seems to be publishers owning the article outright, and the writer cannot syndicate it. In this climate of fewer and fewer print publications, and more and more writers, writers have almost zero negotiating power.

Writing issues with blogs and internet sites - another story for another day.

  39. I was going to say the same as @Unknown 5.39pm, but shorter: it is unusual for an interviewer to agree to post-edits by the interviewee. Common to enter with a general framework of what the focus of the interview is, but that's it - after that, it's almost always up to the interviewee to be verbally dextrous!

I think an obvious example of someone with a very interesting/horrendous youth is Drew Barrymore, and she manages interviews well. IIRC she's drawn interviews back onto her desired topic effectively. And good on her, she's in control of what she discusses.

Lots of celebrities don't insist on "final say". However, there is a lot of discussion before the interview. If the interviewer makes the subject look bad, the publicist & mgmt will ensure the journalist will never get an interview with any of their other clients. I've interviewed some fairly well-known people and it wasn't really an issue with me. But I was also known for a particular style & angle with my articles, so maybe that helped.
