This British female singer who was everywhere a few years ago and seemed destined to be a superstar has crashed and burned mainly due to her love of heroin. She just can't stop for longer than a day and despite rehab and even a 24/7 minder she keeps relapsing. I just hope she isn't sharing needles too.

ReplyDeleteOk, after some quick research I amend my answer to Duffy. According to Wikipedia she announced back in 2011 she was taking a two year hiatus from music. Who does that when they are at the top of their game and a shooting star? Obviously she has some other problems to deal with (drugs?)

ReplyDeleteDuffy was due to make a comeback last year just as a fire destroyed the penthouse she was staying in. Fire caused by something in the vents.

Plus she was said to be "dazed" as she fled the fire, although they're was no apparent physical danger that would cause that as she had the time & ability to retrieve her pets from the flat.
Sad, I hope this is revealed so it might give her the motivation to get clean.
British is a good clue. English would describe Lily, Leona, Joss but Duffy is Welsh so you'd have to say British because seriously, can you name another Welsh singer?

ReplyDeleteSaw Duffy live at a music festival about 5 -6 years back very impressed - no lip synching there and her band was awesome, I think she was taken aback by the love from one of the first US crowds she'd appeared in front of - I bought her album shortly thereafter. If it is her hope she can get it all together before it's too late.

ReplyDelete@Elisha - Are you talking about Corinne Bailey Rae? I love her. Her husband, a trumpet player, died from an overdose. She released her last EP in 2011. I think her and Duffy are both good guesses.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Wales a few years ago, we saw Duffy play in a small club in Cardiff. She was fabulous. I'd hate it to be her.
