Bethenny Frankel's Talk Show Is About To Be Canceled

Staffers on Bethenny Frankel's talk show have been sending out feelers looking for new jobs and it isn't just because their boss is a pain to work for. The show is in grave danger of being canceled. In the next few weeks if ratings don't improve significantly then it's going to be canceled. Right now in most markets Bethenny is one of the lowest rated talk shows and there is too much programming available that stations can air which is cheaper and which will pull in higher numbers.

Apparently Ellen, who is the owner of the show and Bethenny are involved in a huge fight and are not even speaking to each other. Ellen isn't thrilled with the way Bethenny is handling her divorce and when Ellen has sent her own people over to Bethenny's show they have been treated like crap. No employees like Bethenny and the show is such a mess that it is probably going down sooner than later. If a show was doing great then you want to make the time to make things right but when the show sucks and people don't like going to work there and are actively looking to go elsewhere then just shut it down and move on to something else.

  2. Why do people keep giving talk shows to people who aren't professional comedians?

      @topper - I agree

  3. I guess this is the answer to yesterday's BI about the boob-flashing talk show host. If it's true, I'm surprised Ellen didn't do more than "send her people" over.

    1. Didn't Enty say it was a huge show? Huge in what way? Certainly not in ratings according to this post about the show being canceled.

  4. Excellent ...she never should have gotten one

  5. I don't like how she's handling her divorce either. She deserves to have it thrown back in her face.

  6. I saw a couple of minutes of it. Whatever other problems are going on behind the scenes, Bethenney Fecal is simply awkward and unlikeable on camera. It would be funny though to see her and PMK co-hosting a talk show. They could give parenting and marital advice.

  8. How did she ever manage to land her own show? Who is she, an ex Housewife? Gah.

  9. She is a nasty unattractive character. She won't be missed.

  10. I hope she will stop appearing in the daily pictures.

  11. Oh Bethenney...She really went wrong about 2 years ago. I was a fan of hers on RHONY (shameful face) because she was fun and the most realistic of the bunch. Once she got a spin-off she believed she could do no wrong and just came across as so heartless. She would be mean to everyone in her life and then cry when she didn't get her way. She is painful to watch on her show because she is just trying to be likeable, and it is just a big mess.

Speaking of a big mess, has anyone seen The View in the last few weeks. Someone needs to cancel that before Whoopi actually dies of boredom.

    1. I could only handle a few shows of this new season. I actually miss Joy and Elisabeth lol.

    1. +1. I never watched her on RHONY but I actually like the talk show. I think its catered towards mid to late twenty year olds and early to mid thirty year olds. Also I really like the Bethany in your business part, its nice to see a successful businesswomen giving advice to female entrepreneurs. Idk I hope it stays on air.

    2. I fall into that age range & many of my friends love her show. I agree with the person who said she was likable in a sea of fake RHNY ladies (ahem count(l)ess Luann) but on her own she is brash & took her bitchy persona to the next level. She mistook real for aggressive

  13. Thank god, she is just too too much and has a complete lack of sincerity I find difficult to watch.

  14. First of all, Oprah wasn't a professional comedian and she got her own talk show which worked out quite well. Second, I like Bethenny too, I wish it would've worked out for her. And finally, yes, the View is horrible right now. Maybe because Barbara is there every day. :P

  15. I watched it for a couple of minutes and she was trying to dance and sing to her theme song which was all "you go-girl" and it was painful

  16. it's hard to look at her with those tell tale bulemic cheeks

There is a waiting line behind her with people wanting a talk show.

  17. I think people have to believe you're a nice person at heart, with good intentions for others, to be successful in your own daytime talk show. The pressures of daily production and constant criticism will put a callous on the hearts of even the best of people, short-tempers, lead to too much perfection-seeking that can be too demanding of staff (the criticisms heard of Oprah over the years) - or lead them to adopt too many dogs for staff (Ellen) - but even then the intentions are good.

Bethenny comes off too much like a Sally Jesse Raphael, where you see the ambition in the eyes, and can tell the show is about her own "career steps" and ratings and stunts for ratings beyond having any greater vision for the show.

The best shows/hosts start with a vision or mission, and they aim at that mission or idea, and let the ratings fall where they may, and often they do not fall because there is a purpose or idea, and with that, a reason to watch.

  18. april, I think Whoopi may be part of the problem!

  19. I'm really getting tired of you bashing this woman. You are so seethingly jealous, it must hurt.

  20. Oprah had a career in broadcasting and some interviewing skills- no way ever in a million years did Bethenny have a chance at having a successful talk show. She has no redeeming qualities. She looks like she could eat your soul.

    1. She was just another housewife until she started ordering her "special" margarita while they were dining while filming. The other ladies started ordering it too & then the fans started asking about it. Leading her to get in business with a bottling company. She was a chef & a lifestyle guru (badly attended appearances for gluten free in store promotions ensued) until Skinny Girl. She saw a fluke & made a fortune. I don't hate her for banking it, but I don't like how she says she's real but it's fake. Same story with all these ladies, they're normal until they get some fame. Disclosure - I like the RH series, I know, I know. Trash tv at its finest

  21. I agree with April and Anna. I used to really like her, but her fame just totally went to her head. Jason seems like good people and I think he's getting a bum deal from her, too.

  22. This is good news I was wondering when it was going to happen her guest don't even like being on her show!

  23. I have seen her show a few times. IMO it is harmless fluff before the kids come home, or need picking up.

I didn't mind it, I don't seek it out, but I don't turn the channel if it is on.

  24. The problem is she already made more than all of us this year doing the show. I loathe her.

  25. I've only seen it a few times but I really liked it. She's like a friend who isn't afraid to make fun of herself. I saw something with Ellen and it seemed like Ellen really disliked her. Ellen even made fun of how Bethanny spoke to her child. It was the most bitchy I've ever seen Ellen act towards someone.

The View has run its course and needs to go away pronto!

  26. Jason is passive aggressive and a weenie.

  27. I guess she thought having Maksim Chmerkovskiy on every other week for no apparent worthwhile reason was going to bring in ratings......

  28. she seems like one of those wrapped up tight ppl

  29. I never understood why people thought she was so smart or funny. She uses sarcasm and pop culture references. (Like when she got engaged and used the "he put a ring on it" cliche.) The only original thing coming out of that woman's mouth is her most recent meal.

And Skinny Girl margaritas are awful. If you're watching calories either don't have a margarita or have a real one and walk an extra 10 blocks. Why waste calories on crap.

  30. I Seeger show when I go to lunch at Subway. She had Tiki Barber on to give marriage/relationship advice. The man who cheated on & left his ex-wife when she was pregnant. Yeah. Smart. The sooner the better.

  31. Bethenny's narcissistic personality disorder is very apparent. She needs to fire her current therapist and get some real help before her daughter hates her.

Her ex is a misogynist frat boy, but he loves his child. As do his parents who lost a son and live to see that child. What kind of a human being denies a child a relationship with the only grandparents that child will know?

Television is difficult at the best of times, but daytime television is impossible.
