Today's Blind Items - He Steals From Them

It wasn't that long ago that this actor had lead roles in movies that were actually shown in the theatres. He had started out on a hit comedy show that has been on long enough that it would be legal to drink if it was a person. Our actor made his mark on that show and made millions of dollars after the show doing movies. That was then though and this is now and our actor has gone through most of his money. He made some bad career decisions and his acting choices have not panned out. Oh, and then there are the drugs and hookers. He loves them. He loves them more than Charlie Sheen, but doesn't have the wallet Charlie does. Our actor realized that he needs money to keep up his hooker and drug lifestyle so he trolls the internet for people who are his fans and who are single and have a job and he has them move to LA if they live in other parts of the country and moves them in to his house and starts bleeding them dry of every penny they have. Most of them have become hooked on drugs, but he doesn't care if they are or not, he just wants their money. Last year he moved a woman to LA from England, promising he was going to marry her. She quit her job and moved and he drained her of her life savings. Now, she is back in England and is selling her story to the tabloids.

  1. Ohhh this is a good one. A show that is 21+ years old would make it around 1992?

  2. If the comedy show is still on and not just airing in syndication, wouldn't it be someone from SNL?

  3. It's gotta be someone from SNL. A lot to choose from. GO!

  4. Malcolm is in their Middle parts. Gag.

  5. I'm probably wrong, but first name that popped in my head is Woody H. But he's been in Hunger Games, so IDK.

  6. David Faustino popped into my head but not sure he has been really that big in movies

  7. Longest running comedies are Simpsons and SNL. Adam Sandler? Rob Sneider?

    1. I thought the Sinpsons too. Hank Azaria did some huge movies (the Birdcage for one) and he's divorced from Helen Hunt now I think.

Whore-loving SNL cast members who did movies - Dana Carvey?

  8. Someone from In Living Color? Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier or a Wayans brother?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Tom Selleck from Magnum PI? He had a hit TV show and then movies for a bit. Doesn't seem like him, though.

  10. What about David Spade?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Eddie Murphy or Mike Myers

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bill Murray or Chevy chase?

  13. People, people!

He had started out on a hit comedy show that has been on long enough that it would be legal to drink if it was a person.

So, if you have anyone in mind who did not get his start on a TV Comedy show that is still on the air after at least 21 years, you're wrong.

    - It's a COMEDY
    - It's STILL ON THE AIR
    - It premiered NO LESS THAN 20 YEARS AGO

    Start there.

  14. Agree with the SNL guess. So who, after leaving the show, was initially successful and now isn't?

Mike Myers? With lead roles being Austin Powers, Shrek, etc? He hasn't done much since the 129376th Shrek sequel...

Would Master of Disguise be considered being "successful in movies" for Dana Carvey? He really hasn't done anything recently, so in that aspect he would fit.

  15. SNL doesn't pay that well..

    ReplyDelete

    1. @Misch - The blind doesn't say how much this person got paid on the show, it just says they "made their mark" on it. Plus, people like Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, etc. were paid a lot in their last few seasons!

  16. Absolutely has to be someone from SNL who had a good career in movies but no good other TV (i.e. no sitcom residuals, etc.).
Murphy, Piscopo, Myers, Dana Carvey (but I believe he's a family man...), Kevin Nealon (?).
Not as many (living) options as I thought there would be.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anthony Michael Hall, SNL.

    ReplyDelete
  18. John Lovitz - Simpsons & SNL

    ReplyDelete
  19. Has to be someone from SNL. No, even the biggest cast stars on SNL make way below their market value on the show. Lorne has a "most favored nations" policy for cast salaries. Everyone gets paid the same, more or less, based on seniority.

The only SNL alum the clues would fit is Chris Kattan.

    1. Agreeing with B. Profane - it's gotta be Kattan.

We've got some new BI guessers, and that's awesome - I mean, we were all new here once. But let's focus on the info in the BI and go from there :-). And whatever someone else said - Enty's talked about Kattan before in this light.

    2. Your right. Chris Kattan was outed as druggie sleazoholic in earlier blinds.

As an English person, never heard of him. Could he lure someone to the States when they haven't heard of him?

  20. David Spade was my first guess

    ReplyDelete
  21. Lovitz should have some money from The Simpsons, but maybe he went through all of it.

Also noticed: Jim Breuer (family man, however), Norm MacDonald, and Colin Quinn (NYC based I think, however). Rob Schneider has four movies in some state of production (really!?). Kattan surprisingly has some things in production, too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Chevy Chase, but he's a bit old for this.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My advice to him would be to find a sugarmama/starfucker who lives in LA and has a revenue stream. It seems absurd to find someone with a job and then force them to move to LA, where they don't have a job. I mean, really.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Probably not Chevy Chase. He chose to leave Community and the paycheck attached at the send of last season.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rob Schneider has had fairly well documented money problems -- he used to lavishly support a couple of charitable causes and has had to pull out for financial reasons -- but he's married and his wife had a baby last year, so I don't think it's him. "moves them in to his house" = seems unlikely to be a married man.

  26. skimpymist: it's a pretty simple bit of HTML code: HTML uses "Angle Brackets" -- or, as we were taught them in school, the "Less than" and "Greater than" signs, "<" and ">" to enclose formatting commands. For the example below, I'm going to use "Curly Brackets," also known as "Braces" ("{}") so as notto confuse the web server. So where you see "{" in my example, use "<" on your own, and when you see "}" use ">" -- Got it?

At the beginning of the text you want formatted, you start with a "Less than" sign, then the letter for the kind of formatting you want, then the "Greater than" sign to contain it.

Using Braces instead, I can show you that, to start italics you'd use an "I" as in "{i}" (upper case or loser case doesn't matter inside the command) and to get bold you'd use a "B" as in "{b}"

At the end of the text you want formatted, you "close" the command, by repeating it, except with a "Slash" or "Stroke" character -- "/" -- between the "Less than" sign and the letter, so it would be {/i} or {/b} -- remembering to use "Less than" and "Greater than" in place of "Curly Brackets."

  27. I also thought David Spade but he had a hit TV show after SNL ("Just Shoot Me") that is not mentioned in the blind.

  28. I like the Jon Lovitz guess. That's the ticket.

  29. Gotta be SNL. What about Dan Ackroyd? He's looking rough. Did some movies. Hasn't really done much since he lost his acting partner, Belushi.

  30. I thought immediately SNL.... And then Norm McDonald. But don't think he lives in LA. It has to be someone from SNL or maybe even Simpsons? The only two that really fit.

  31. "Our actor made his mark on that show and made millions of dollars after the show doing movies."

    (Bolding mine.)

My first guess, to be honest, was Mike Myers, but it looks like he married a cafe owner in 2010 and had a baby with her in 2011.

Who else made millions in movies after leaving a show like SNL? A list of previous cast members...

"Now, she is back in England and is selling her story to the tabloids."

    Quick! To the English tabloids!

  33. Well, Chris Kattan was just here in GolpherMuscle, Canada, doing a stand-up show, so he's not out of work. Dan Akroyd has a successful winery and production company, I believe, so he might be out. Plus the whole married thing.

I would love it if it was Jon Lovitz, although I don't think he would be exactly working the studmuffin card. If it is him or Christopher Walken and they are reading, just let me know when I should book my flight. A few weeks of laughs would be worth some dough fo sho.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jon Lovitz "made millions of dollars" in movies? I don't think he ever had a starring role -- lots of cameos and small supporting parts.

Chris Kattan, at least, made a handful of movies where he was the star ("Corky Romano," "A Night at the Roxbury"). And he's been divorced for several years. Hasn't he appeared in blind items before?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I immediately thought Chris Kattan.

  46. Not Anthony Michael Hall, he went on SNL after his movie career stumbled (Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science).

Did Kattan really make millions doing movies after SNL? Also, I'm not sure it was his career choices that were bad as much as he has just on or off, not a lot of shades in his acting.

How about this shock - what about Will Ferrel?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ferrell is married with 3 young kids. What about Bill Murray? What's he been in lately bar the cameo in zombieland

    ReplyDelete
  48. Aykroyd post Belushi:

    Trading Places
    Ghostbusters 1, 2 & 3
    Spies like Us
    Dragnet
    Driving Miss Daisy
    My Girl
    My Girl 2
    Chaplin
    Gross Point Blank

I don't think he's a very good film actor (he was a brilliant sketch comedian). But he has had a solid film career since Belushi died.

  49. Was pauly shore on snl?

    ReplyDelete
  50. No way this is Bill Murray. He works when he wants and was just nominated for a Golden Globe for his movie Hyde Park on the Hudson - which was actually very good.
He seems to like working just on projects he wants like anything don by Wes Anderson.
David Spade is currently headlining his comedy show in Vegas at the Venetian.
I hate blinds like these because they usually end up being someone that everyone would just as soon forget about anyway.

  54. Wouldn't say it was someone from old SNL, the English tabloids wouldn't touch it as we only really know of the big 'stars' that have come out of SNL in recent years. I work in the media and have only heard of the 'Hollywood' names mentioned above.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Didn't Eddie Murphy have a "thing" with Mel B. for awhile? She's British.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Topher Grace? (still rerunning)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I read this as Spade but Kattan is a much better guess. Spade has worked often and is real life friends with Adam Sandlet and Chris Rock and they would help him out. Katran wasn't popular with other cast mates and has made bad choices.
