The Queen Latifah Guest List

Queen Latifah has a talk show. I know you probably haven't heard much about it because Kris Jenner and Betheeny Frankel and Katie Couric seem to take all the publicity for talk shows. Queen will be out there. She actually started yesterday with her first guest John Travolta. That is a pretty interesting first guest coming from Queen who many allege is gay but who prefers to not discuss her sex life. Hey, I think that's fine but yesterday she could have asked John Travolta about all those massages he had, but she didn't. Why? Because Queen Latifah will be the most kiss butt talk show host in the history of mankind. Do you think she would rather work as an actress or someone who has to go onto a studio five days a week for many hours each of those days? If she asks John the touch questions no one will appear on her show and no one will ever give her another acting job. Also on yesterday's show was Alicia Keys. huh.

On today's show Will Smith will appear. Huh. Interesting choice. Later this week? Jake Gyllenhaal. Is there some club she belongs to with these people and they all support each other to keep secrets safe?

Musical guest today will be Willow Smith. Expect Willow to be on frequently because Will Smith's company is producing Queen Latifah's show.

Lest you think that Queen, who had her own talk show a decade ago is going to touch on anything interesting, this is what she had to say about talking about herself or asking anything personal of her guests.

"I know what I'm comfortable with and what I'm not. It's what I feel is private to me and my family and my friends. It's what I share with the public. That's been something I decided a long time ago. It's not a new thing," she says. "Nobody is asking me. Only the media is asking that question. What makes sense for me to share makes sense. What I think is my private business will stay private."

Maybe her music leader MC Lyte will ask the tough questions. MC Lyte huh?

  1. LOL. Well that sure is quite the line up. And her quote? What the hell is she talking about? Anyway, I like her all right, but Enty's right on this one.

  3. My husband (who rarely comments on any celeb) thinks she is the biggest sell-out ever. He's been saying that for years.

  6. She had a talk show a decade ago? I missed that one. This is another bombfest. I bet it goes belly up with Bethany's crapfest.

  7. Sandy Bullock and George Clooney will be hitting the talk shows soon to discuss their new movie. I'm sure they would be comfortable on this show.

  8. I want her show to fail just so I can get my Judge Judy hour back here in Chicago. Last year we lost if for a bit to Jeff Probst's show, so hoping for another cancelation.

Then you go on to say that Will's company is producing the show.

  12. I doubt she'll ask anyone the "hard" question, "Are you homosexual", but do we really need to know if someone is or isn't. Who people chose to fck is really not my business. Just because she won't does not mean she kisses ass or that her show will fail because of it. I mean, come on Enty you swear and so does Rae Dawn Chong swear Oprah is brown noser! However, she not only still has a show, she has a whole damn network!

  13. Queen Latifah is going to be like any other daytime talk show host, she will ask the questions that is approved by the celebrity or their people for them to answer. I wouldn't be looking to her show (or any other show, even Ellen) for hard hitting celebrity journalism.

  15. For some reason I just LOVE Queen Latifah. I'd see her in anything, and I wish she'd act more. Remember how she killed it in Chicago??

  16. Poor Willow. Still being pushed into the limelight by her crazed mother. Girl wanted to stop the show biz life and be a normal teen and momager said NO! Bitch.

  19. Why should she ask people about their sexuality? It's nobody's business unless they decide to make it so. These shows are meant to be fluff. That's why people watch them.

  24. It is interesting that her guest lineup is all folks that gossips suspect are gay. That may be her choice or it may be who Will wants on the show.

  25. You couldn't make up a funnier guest list...this show should be called "In The Closet with a Queen"

  26. Sooo Enty wants Queen L to ask people the "tough" questions? I don't understand, most Celebs appear on talk shows as part of their contract to promote Movies or Television Shows in which they appear. They have a limited amount if time to do so. Asking intrusive personal questions that have nothing whatever to do with why they are on the show in the first place is stupid and will only cause celebrities to opt out of doing your show. Additionally it is none of anyone's business who is sleeping with whom and whether or not they are gay. When the hell are we going to move past this "outing" trend? If our sexuality is no ones business to put a stop to then shouldn't it be no ones business in any case?

  31. Anonymous12:08 PM

It'll be the talk show equivalent of dating Taylor Swift - appear on the show and let the whole world know without question you are same sex attracted.

  32. @Megan - I just spit my lemonade out all over my keyboard and screen. That has to be one of the best lines today.
