Million Second Quiz Is A Money Losing Machine - No One Is Watching
By the time Million Second Quiz ends its run next week it is up for debate whether anyone will actually be watching. I suppose there will be some family members of the finalists who will watch but other than that it promises to be a vast wasteland of ad dollars being refunded by NBC and the second consecutive solo failure for Ryan Seacrest. I wouldn't want you to forget his daytime talk show which bombed in the ratings. Ryan is a second banana kind of guy when it comes to television. It's why he didn't get the CNN gig when Larry King retired. Ryan is great on the radio because he has worked for popular stations and has lots of people to help him get through the hours of show each day. On his television bombs he's left out there alone and no one wants to watch Ryan talk for an hour. The only reason people put up with him on New Years Eve is because we are all drunk. If you aren't drunk chances are you didn't stay up until midnight watching him introduce bands and keep his hair in place.
The other big problem with Million Second Quiz is that no one understands it. It's like Big Brother meets Millionaire but at blinding speeds. NBC will keep bringing every one of its New York based celebrities on air to try and boost the ratings but the number of viewers is almost down by half from Monday's premiere which wasn't all that great to begin with. The CW might end up with more viewers on the show's last night.
