Bobby Cannavale winning for Boardwalk Empire was shocking, but I actually watched last season and yes, he was very good. I'm sure someone from Breaking Bad, whether it's Aaron Paul or Dean Norris, will win next year. As for Jeff Daniels winning Best Actor in a Drama Series (over Bryan Cranston, Kevin Spacey, or even Jon Hamm)? Total BS. Not sure how that even happened. I have loved Jeff Daniels since Terms of Endearment and Gettysburg, but COME ON.

  3. Bobby Cannavale was AMAZING last season on Boardwalk Empire. So glad he won but, yes, I was shocked, too.

  5. Nice job leaving an open post for the Emmy's, Jax. You're slacking.

I was disappointed that Jeff Daniels won. He is a good actor, but I think a few other nominees were more deserving. I think I was disappointed because I hate Newsroom as well. I am a liberal, nowhere near middle if the road. Despite that, I could only watch a few episodes due to how biased and preachy the show is. The characters are all thoroughly unlikeable too. I am rooting for it to get cancelled.

    1. Agree about Merrit Rach. I also think a music thread would be marvelous!

  8. Thanks for the list Enty! Watched Shemar Moore posting on FB. Better spread of awards than in previous years. Good to see quality work recognized.

  9. Interesting winners. Too bad none of them had time to speak.

The actual ceremony was god awful. I gave up at some point and switched to my trusty DVR and Real Housewives.

If there was a CDAN open thread last night, I would have hung in. Please, dear Enties. Run your open threads during the awards shows. I live for that shit.

Also shocked about Jeff Daniels winning, and I am a fan of the Newsroom. Well, somewhat. Olivia Munn and Jane Fonda and the Law and Order guy are kinda my faves.

Jon Hamm will never win, will he?

  10. I'm not surprised Greg Daniels lost for The Office, just surprised he was even nominated. The last two seasons were not funny at all.

  11. The Emmy's, like the Golden Globes, likes to award to the new kid on the block, hence the Jeff Daniels win. These awards are subjective (not to mention political) anyway. How do pick one excellent performance over another?

  12. Shemar Moore was rather awkward backstage. I wish Bryan Cranston would have won. I'm new to Breaking Bad this last season but it's an awesome show. Michael Douglas' speech was very good.

  13. I'm sorry, how could THE BIBLE even be in here?

I'm not knocking anyone's religion, but that production was the biggest piece of crap ever.
