Blind Item #7
This closeted former A list mostly television actor from a very hit show that was recently canceled was thought to have contracted the HIV virus from an actor in the porn industry. It turns out though that the actor has been HIV+ for much longer and might be the person who did the transmitting rather than the other way around.
A recently cancelled hit show? This seems like it shouldn't be that hard.

ReplyDeleteSince Enty often uses "very hit show" when referencing Gossip Girl (Thanks Google!), I have to agree that the blind is likely Chace Crawford.

People often pay sex workers "extra" for unprotected sex, and then everyone acts all surprised that there is HIV in the porn/escorting industry? smh

ReplyDeleteAfter 2 weeks of stalling, Rod Daily came out as HIV+. So far him and his girlfriend Cameron Adams are the only named HIV + cases in porn.
ReplyDeleteThere has been another HIV + in the past week, but it is unknown if it is a related case.
Last time around, someone mentioned they do test in gay side porn. I researched a little, and they do, but it isn't mandatory as on the straight side. Some gay performers are actually against mandatory testing.
Actually been a 4th one, as of today.

@Barton: There hasn't been HIV transmission on a straight porn set since 2004.

ReplyDeleteDerrick Burts, 2010. A while ago, I read where he said he contracted HIV through oral on a condom gay set, because he had an STD infection (i forget chlamydia or gonorrhea) in his throat.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to come off as anti-gay porn, gay dudes need jack off material, same as straights. I just think they should have mandatory testing on the gay side, so people would stop complaining about crossovers (dudes who work on both sides of the industry).

ReplyDeleteIf it was True Blood, there would be a mention that it was on cable.
ReplyDeleteAnd True Blood gets a full final season to wrap things up. Canceled is when a show gets too old and too expensive to produce.
The Office and 30 Rock had their showrunners make the decision that it would be their final season.
Rules of Engagement was never a big hit.
Which actually leaves two shows: House, and CSI: New York

ReplyDeleteSome help here: Recently canceled very hit shows- 30 Rock, The Office, Breaking Bad, CSI-NY, Dexter, Gossip Girl (+Lesser hits but decent-run shows- Parks & Rec, Rules of Engagement)
This is a tough one though because of the A list requirement.
Most of those just reached the end of their run, mostly by their own decision- for "canceled" I think of something that got yanked for poor rarings.
DeleteParks & Rec is still going, no talk of ending yet as far as I know.
Isnt Glee canceled? and there are many it could be from that show;in fact maybe thats why the one committed suicide? and what about someone from The Office?
