Blind Item #5
This former B+ list reality star who crashed and burned before making it back up to B list celebrity and B- list reality judge was offered the chance to host a charity event but turned them down because she wanted $100K to host it. They turned her down and an Academy Award winning actress did it for free.
Nicole Ritchie. I don't buy these charity event things.
ReplyDeleteYou do realize, Enty, that the celebrities don't actually negotiate, right? It's down to agents/pr, they don't even tell the celebrities about the offers. (Usually there are a lot)
Nicole Ritchie?
ReplyDeleteparis hilton
ReplyDeleteIan does make a point, I have to think that some agents/managers, the greedy or sneaky ones, often don't tell their clients about all offers coming esp charitable requests, because there is nothing in it for them if there is no fee involved. You have to wonder how many times actors or actresses have been screwed because the push was for the film role that pays more vs the film role that would be best for them career wise.
ReplyDeleteCAA is notorious for packaging movies so that everyone involved is a CAA client from director to actors even if they aren't the best for the job.
On the other hand I can also see some people are so self important they think they are worth that kind of money to show up at a charity gig.
Nicole Bitchie but isn't this BI a retread?
ReplyDelete@Tina
ReplyDeleteHow weird. I was thinking about CAA when I wrote that.
We probably know more about this industry than "Enty"
Yes when actors "like" scripts its really the agent and when you are negotiating any job it goes to the agent and if he like it it goes to the actor.
ReplyDeletethis seems recycled, there was almost the same blind word for word that was just revealed

ReplyDeleteSo who's the Academy Award-winning actress?
ReplyDeleteDunno the actress? Marisa Tomei? Anna Paquin?
ReplyDeleteNobody care about her @snapdragon shes nice :)
ReplyDeleteAw, @sandybrook, I care. Love the kindness blinds. :)
ReplyDeleteYes this is very similar to a previous blind.
ReplyDeleteIan, Sandy, Tina, when one of my friends worked for ACTRA, this issue came up, with an actress dumping her entire representation (that was the reason she had to do union paperwork) because they'd hidden offers from her, as well as charity events, to push her Stateside. I admired her firing them.
ReplyDeleteif i were a charity (i've worked for them) i'd pay Paris to stay the hell away. a nd check her bag before she left to ensure she wasn't leaving with all the nibblies.
ReplyDeleteJulianne Hough? She is now a judge on DWTS after dancing on the show for a few yrs...
