Amanda Bynes Moves To Rehab Facility- Talks About Suicide

Somehow Amanda Bynes managed to check herself out of the UCLA hospital where she was receiving some really good treatment and has checked herself into a Malibu rehab facility where she won't receive any treatment at all except for maybe her pot addiction and coke addiction which could have been treated after she finished her stay at UCLA in another two years. The doctors at UCLA are supposed to be in charge of her care so it baffles me how they let her check herself out to go to a place that leaks information on celebrities faster than Paris Hilton can snort a line of coke.

As people began to leave the facility they are selling their stories about Amanda and the picture they are painting is not a good one or happy one. One person who was released on Friday says that Amanda has been talking about suicide and doesn't interact with anyone except for two friends unless forced.

  1. I am so sad for this girl. I have a family member with MH issues and understand the need and wants for them to get better versus what makes them feel better. I do find it odd that she is able to make decisions about her care but as long as she is in some kind of treatment is better than none at all.

  2. This has turned into one of the ugliest celeb meltdown stories of all time.

  3. Wishing peace, love and light for her...and some kind of relief from what ever her issues are. :(

  4. Miss Mandy, please don't hurt yourself. Do not deprive the world of more decades with those lovely buttcheeks around.

P.S. I'd have to red the actual quote on the suicide claims. I could see anyone saying, "If I have to spend 2 years in here I'll kill myself."

  5. @Barton: Unless the orderlies are pimping her out, then it still pales in comparison to what Frances Farmer went through.

    1. Word. And I don't believe France's farmer was out lighting fires in driveways or throwing "vases" out windows. That whole thing is just awful!!!

  6. I thought a judge had granted her mother a conservatorship. Wouldn't that mean Amanda can't make any decisions for herself?

  7. Unless the conservatorship is in place, Amanda can do anything she wants. Only doctors can advise, but if she chooses to discharge herself against medical advice (AMA) that is up to her. In addition, dual diagnosis is difficult to treat, and basically she's not done yet and she will spiral again. She is feeling better so she thinks she is better. She will go get high again, and go off her meds.

  9. Yeah, but Frances Farmer ultimately had her revenge on Seattle.

  10. Actually- a great deal of what Frances Farmer went through is pure fiction, written by a Scientologist to discredit established psychiatric community.

  11. I can't help but feel bad for her. A mental break triggered by drug use plus whatever Dan Schneider did to her equals this tragedy.

I hope Sam & Cat is tanking. (I wouldn't know; my kids haven't watched Nickelodeon in years.) That'll end his 15+ year run of nothing but hits for Nick. Karma, baby.

  12. But @pickynicky, isn't the conservatorship already in effect? I'm really confused as to why she was able to make this decision, unless she was able to convince her mom (in which case I don't have a good feeling about how things will end up). :(

  13. Maybe she doesn't interact with anyone because they're all running to the tabloids.

  14. Her mother was granted the conservatorship...I am wondering if this story isn't b.s.

  15. kids who works at a young age in hollywood never turns out well. there's always gonna be some drug involvement in their lives. kids in the entertainment industry should be banned. it's not a safe playground.

  16. Conservatorship? Didn't her mother say to nix the conservatorship because she thought the docs would have a stronger say in Amanda's decisions? That's what TMZ said last week.

  17. Her mother withdrew her petition thinking that the doctors and hospitals had a better hold and care of her daughter due to the courts order. Now this has happened.

  18. I get the impression her mother really doesn't want to be in charge of Amanda. That's fine, it's her choice, but it would probably be better for Amanda if her mother did so.

If Amanda has gone to one of those "celebrity" rehab centers, I doubt she'll ever get better. Those places are a joke. IMO if she's not in a real hospital she'll be back on the street setting fires and Tweeting about how her fans are ugly within a few weeks.
