Gia Allemand Was On The Phone With Her Mom When She Killed Herself

Gia Allemand and her boyfriend had got into one of their normal fights. They were fighting all of the time. Mainly the fights were because she was doing a lot of drugs and partying too much and then one day at lunch he said he didn't love her anymore and that he was seeing someone else. That night Gia killed herself while talking to her mom on the phone. Gia used a vacuum cleaner cord to hang herself.

This is the part I don't understand and wonder if Gia could have lived. She was on the phone with her mom and the phone went silent. For ten minutes her mom tried to get her on the phone. Nothing. Her mom didn't do anything else and it was her boyfriend who found her eventually, with the cord wrapped around her neck. By then it was too late. Why didn't the mom call 911? Your daughter is killing herself on the phone and you don't do anything? Even after the 10 minutes, she didn't call. I don't understand that at all.

    1. I also don't think she 'hanged' herself in the classic sense. The boyfriend found her 'on the stairs' with corded wrapped around her neck several times. Sounds like she just looped cord until it she couldn't breath and then probably passed out and suffocated because cord couldn't loosen because of the multiple wraps. I don't think he found her hanging.

  2. Um. "On the phone with her Mom" is completely different than "Called her Mom, told her explicitly what she was doing, and executed her plan."

Most of us, if we are disconnected while talking to our moms, call back when we can. The normal response isn't to frantically call 9/11, especially not if the individual has no history of suicide.

    The new enties suck.

  3. I need to go read legit news sources about this. I doubt she was making it clear that she was killing herself.

  4. There is a whole batch of so called "reporting" in this item that is either speculation or absolute bs. And go ahead blame mom and Ryan Anderson for this happening :(

  5. Jeez Enty #40, wtf with blaming the grieving mother? I'm sure she's going to hate herself for the rest of her life by not "doing something sooner," even though she probably had no idea what was happening. No need to pile onto that pain...

  6. Yes, blame them because it's not like they won't have guilt about this the rest of their lives.

  8. I know that those that suffer from depression usually only think about themselves at the time that they decided to commit suicide And I can understand the need to want to say goodbye. I would find it odd that she intended to include her mom on the act itself Unless they too had some unresolved issues.

  9. That is terrible! I'm sure her mother didn't know what was happening. I feel so bad for her.

  10. Hey, Cunty Enty! Go fuck yourself hard with a chainsaw!

  11. What about your reporting that it was a drug overdose? Are you going to address that?

  12. Fuck. I just read the post on the girl who was kidnapped and now this, and I'm wondering if I need to go find a new daily gossip site because the reporting here (ha ha ha) SUCKS! At least provide links to proper reports with you know, facts. Or just run the blind items. If you want to do hard news involving deaths, suicides and kidnappings, you really should provide correct information rather than your bitch-ass, pointy-finger speculations.

  13. seriously. this site has gone down hill. the writing sucks. the content sucks. the blind items suck. i dont believe anything on this site anymore. what happened?

Would you new enty whiners just STFU, quit commenting and find a new place to share your whining comments?

    1. Well I try to refrain, usually, but it is annoying that there are ghost writers with obvious different styles masquerading as Enty. Why not be up front and above board about who is writing what? If the original Enty is still writing things, I'd like to know when it's him as opposed to others.

I second that emotion. Been a lurker for awhile here. This site is buttloads ahead of the rest. Keep on keeping on, Enties! :)

    3. I agree Nightowl but you know, the whiners are so stubborn they would rather waste their time participating in something they don't even like. I find that hilarious and it gives me a chuckle.

Lol Snowy! Very true. Methinks some may be taking this gossip site too seriously. I do wonder if Enty grabs a bag of popcorn after writing a particularly contentious post and just laugh his ass off from one snarky comment to the next deriding his skills, etc.

  15. I HATE Enty's editorializing. This is not the site it used to be. This is not gossip. It's wrong.

  16. She may have felt her mother was the only person who loved her and Gia wanted to be comforted by her voice as she took her life. Her mother most likely had no idea what she was doing.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good God! How is this her mother's fault? If I can't get through to someone on the phone I don't call the cops.
She lost her daughter in the worst way possible and you think she is to blame!
    Shame on you Enty.
I have known far too many people who have committed suicide, including a family member very recently, and the reasons are more complicated and profound than some gossip monger can understand.
Maybe she wanted to make sure her mother was far away so she couldn't stop her. Maybe she wanted to say goodbye. Maybe she wanted her mothers voice to be the last she heard.
Nobody will know because the only person who can answer is dead.
That is the tragedy of suicide. The people left behind with the what ifs.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Obviously her mother didn't know she hung herself! What a horrible thing to blame a mother who just lost her child!

  19. Having recently dealt with a suicide in the family, we kept him on life support for days. Eventually we had to come to the conculsion that he really did try to kill himself and even if he lived he would be permantely brain and other organ damage and he wouldnt want to live with that either. We dont know the story with Gia's mother. Maybe she didnt have her daughters full address or maybe she was trying to get hold of friends to go check on her. If someone wants to die they are gonna do it. Its that simple, and its not fair to blame anyone else.

  21. @nightowl No, I won't. The magic of the internet is that I'm allowed to have opinions and express them. The new enties suck and so does your communistic belief that people can't disagree with you. Please enjoy this, and all of my future whiny posts, because it will be a cold day in Hell before I start posting the way random strangers from the Intertubes suggest I should.

What an aweful, just aweful story. That poor mother...she is going to blame herself forever. I wish i could have talked to Gia...Even though it feels like you are dying when your heart is breaking, the pain eventually fades. You heal. The sun shines brightly the next day. You go on and eventually if you are lucky, you find love again. That is what i would have told her. R.i.p.

  23. Eros - Those are really kind words.

I'm sorry to all who find my complaints snarky regarding the writing on CDAN. It's just disappointing. I have been a fan of this site for five or six years, and it is something I look forward to each day when taking a break from real life. I don't mean to clutch my pearls, but I do find sometimes the snark is misplaced, and I do think the site would have more credibility if the writers/organizers just took some time to provide facts or links to the real story.

  24. Her mom may NOT have known!!!! Gia might of just wanted to talk to her one last time but did not let her know what was happening!!!!!!! Doesn't this mother have enough pain??? Accusing her is just wrong on soooo many levels!!!!

  25. this is a sad sad story and I'm sorry for anyone here who has experienced a similar loss, but I have to say, when I read the articles this morning I thought the same thing -- why didn't the mom go to her if she was upset and the line went dead. There could be a million reasons I suppose. It's all just terrible

  26. Thx everyone but my real sympathies goes with his two girls. When he died he left them nothing, not even his $500k life insurance, he gave it to his fiance 3 weeks before. Luckly he didnt marry her yet so its possible that the courts will most likely give it to the girls.

  28. Why don't people get that this is a blog, a gossip blog.Enty's (or whoever's) blog. Personal opinion of blogger... Do people com on your blog or facebook page and bitch at you constantly about what you write? Yeah, I didn't think so.

I dont get it either, Stacey but trying to refrain from commenting on the enty sniping because i dont want the comments section to turn into a bitchfest.

Enty is supposed to have an opinion even if it doesnt coincide with the consensus' opinion. I would rather have his raw dirty opinion on an issue even if it offends than for him to blow rose colored smoke up my ass in his writings. In other words, Enty, don't change a damned thing.

  29. As if the Mom doesn't already believe this herself. She doesn't need other people thinking it as well. She is not to blame but she will carry it with her always.

Does this Enty even read the comments or do you just not care how much of asshole you always sound like?

    ReplyDelete
  30. The comments turning into a bitchfest isn't necessary, it's already in the posts.

Sorry, but this isn't a "raw dirty opinion," it's downright cruel to blame the mother for her daughter's suicide and try to pass it off as gossip.

"I wonder if she could have lived." Stay klassy, Enty.

  31. Re: the Enty comments

What do you do in real life if someone you know makes a disrespectful or hurtful comment? Some people will call that person out, others will ignore it and others will eventually cut that person out of their life. A blog is no different. None of these responses are right or wrong, different people just have different ways of handling things.

Just my two cents. Personally I think this mother is going through enough without having this laid on her as well. Would you express the sentiments of this post to her mothers face Enty?

  32. I'm not trying to be jokey, but damn phone service sucks, haven't you ever been on a cellphone when you know the other party is on the line but you can't hear anything?

  33. Ugh, the Wednesday Enty is so bitchy.

  34. I wish everyone would lay off the mother.

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe the mother lives in another city? After all, Gia moved to New Orleans to be with her boyfriend, so who knows where the mother actually lives.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ugh, I actually have to side with the Enty that has been annoying me so much lately; her mother would have known that she was upset. If it's true that she killed herself after her boyfriend told her he didn't love her anymore, that information had to come from someone AFTER the suicide, either the boyfriend or the mother, and it's not really the sort of thing a man is likely to admit to. And if she was upset enough to commit suicide for that single reason, and she was talking to her mother just a few hours after the boyfriend allegedly said it, not only did she likely tell her mother, but she would have been upset/crying as well.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Not to be insensitive but who is she?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow the "reporting" of this story could not be any more wrong. They went to lunch, where she accused him of cheating (which he denied). When he dropped her off at home, she said, "I love you" and replied he did not feel the same. Re: the mom when the phone went silent she called Ryan and he was there in 15 mins. He didn't just happen upon her body.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Arsehole. That is all.

  39. Was she one of the housewives or something?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think her life must have been so sad. She was beautiful but that seems to have been a bit of a curse. She kept losing the guys. If she was using drugs and not taking no for an answer regarding her boyfriend's attentions, I am not surprised a nice Christian girl like her just gave up. So very sad.

  42. Irresponsible and shameful reporting.

They had been fighting because she was starting to wonder when and if he was going to propose, as they had been together going on 3 years. Towards the end, she had suspicions he was cheated. When she confronted him, instead of denying it, he told her he had been unhappy for a while and didn't love her anymore.

    No drugs in her system.

    Get your facts straight. DICK.
