A barn cat tried something similar to my old stallion - he just screwed up his nose and let the cat climb on up - cat then curled up on his back and went to sleep. He also had a rabbit friend who he would share his alfalfa with and who would be sleeping in the stall with im when I went out to clean. Very special horse I had and I miss him a ton,
It looks like the kitty wanted to hop on the back of the horse, and misjudged the leap.
