Last night at the SAG awards, this B list television actress either had too much too drink or had some other problem which caused her to be found slumped against a bathroom door. Babbling incoherently she spent fifteen minutes on the floor and refused repeated offers for help. She managed to crawl a few feet and then got to her feet with a helping hand and then staggered back to the show. Undeterred by whatever her ailment was, she was later seen partying all night long. It is unknown whether she spent any additional time inspecting bathroom floors.
Amanda Bynes
Oh wow- poor kid. Back then.
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting if true. Way back in 2007 I don't think there were any signs that she was having any issues. She must have hidden them well.
ReplyDeleteBut surely her parents must have known something was up as she lived with them for a while as an adult.
Sad. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteThe thing about youth and partying is that they don't know their limits. Its' easy to miss when the learning curve's slips becomes "Once started , unable to stop" that becomes addiction.
ReplyDeleteSorry, meant it's easy to dismiss as "learning limits" when it's actually "never want to stop"
ReplyDeleteVery sad.
ReplyDeleteFuck. Time machine logic, I wish someone hAd dragged her arse to some professional counselling 5 years ago
ReplyDeleteI wish the Amanda Bynes would be left out of the gossip papers for a while. People are saying that her diagnosis is Schizophrenia. If that's true, then the rambling, wild antics aren't caused by drugs or alcohol, but by severe mental illness. This isn't a Lohan-type girl that is partying and won't help herself. This girl is really sick.
ReplyDeleteEllen: if she is really Schizophrenic, she needs a psychiatric team who can medicate & treat her, and it WOULD examine a lot.
DeleteNo, her problems are worsened by drugs & alcohol as she has been self-medicating in a disastrous attempt to control her psychiatric problems.
DeleteIt can work for a very short time, but the disease is far too serious for a general depressant like alcohol or any type of uppers that she's probably been using to control the symptoms. She's finally getting professional help with the proper drugs.
Bec: a lot of people try to self medicate with psych issues. I hope now, all these years later, she gets that.
DeleteAgreed. I hope that she's getting that now.
ReplyDeleteCeleb gossip is my guilty pleasure and most of these train wreck stories are weirdly fun to watch, but I do feel really bad for this girl.
I wonder what's the status on her conservatorship? Even if her parents can't be legally approved to take care of her, someone really needs to if that schizophrenia diagnosis is correct. :(
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the care she is receiving is enough to truly help her live a relatively normal life.
ReplyDeleteA friend developed schizophrenia in high school and the drugs given to control the disorder turned him into a lethargic zombie with no spark. I hope meds have greatly improved in 20+ years.
A few years ago, 60 Minutes had a piece on psychiatric disorders in children. One family stood out because the best of care couldn't control the symptoms in their 9 year old daughter. Her parents feel she is destined to be like or become one of the homeless street people who is talking to themselves while making repetitive gestures.
They were talking to her about her two worlds, and actively asking and assisting her to stay in their world (reality). It was so disturbing and heartbreaking. Especially with how society discards mentally ill people, and does not have enough treatment facilities to keep them from being homeless. The parents were filmed talking to and trying to engage mentally ill street people, and showing compassion. They, in turn, asked for compassion from the viewing audience because these are people who have families who love them, but cannot help them.
I think a judge just ruled that Amanda will stay in the hospital for another 30 days.
ReplyDelete20/20 also had a special on schizophrenia in children a few years back. It had 3 or 4 families on it with kids that had schizo.. from ages 5-15. The effects it had on the families was heartbreaking. One family was broke and still had to live in apartments next door to each other with the mom staying with one child and the dad the other because of safety issues. Another family had their child try and kill their sibling.
It was very eye opening to more extreme mental health issues than I was familiar with.
Doesn't look like anyone guessed Amanda back in 2007.
ReplyDeleteGuesses included Paula Abdul, Nicole Richie, Anne Heche, Melina Kanakaredes, and Betty White.
The rumor that she was raped by an exec at Disney/Nick is not to be taken lightly. Many girls at Disney met this fate and were never the same again....
ReplyDeleteBritney Spears
JamieLynn Spears
Lindsey Lohan
Christina Aguilera
Miley Cyrus
Demi Lavato, etc...
The drugs, the booze and the sex are all indicators of a much bigger issues with these young women.
There is teenage angst, there is acting out. And, then there is post trumatic stress, of not only being violated, but having parents who knew and allowed it to continue, because you were/are their cash cow.
Ms. Pink Kitty-that's one area I worked in/still have friends in. Your info isn't accurate. Perhaps you are subconsciously adding in something personal & attributing it to these young ladies, as well? If so, I'm terribly sorry that happened to you, but all these Diz gals did NOT have that experience occur. The one who was truly exploited, isn't listed here, and was a Nick actress.
ReplyDeletemy ex boyfriend is a paranoid schizophrenic. I dealt with his craziness for almost 5 years.
ReplyDeleteAmanda definitely has been exhibiting the same strange behavior he did. She definitely has paranoid schizophrenia :(
I actually believe her schizophrenia was probably brought on from MK-Ultra (thats why her left eye is wonkey), that or sexual abuse from all the pedophiles who work around child stars.
Everyone send your love and prayers out to this girl. She needs help
and no "medication" can really help her. pills are just a band-aid, they treat the effects and not the cause.
ReplyDeletepsychiatric care in todays society is a joke. i had so many "mental disorders", was on every pill...now I'm 100% fine, no more PTSD or eating disorder or anything and all from a book and a therapist NO MEDS

ReplyDeleteUmmm wrong. Nothing happened to me. Thanks for the concern.
There are countless blinds/ rumors and speculations regarding the Disney/Nick folks who have inappropriately involved with these child talents... both boys and girls, and their parents who looked hte other way.
My list ins't all inclusinve, I'm sure there are hundreds that have suffered over the years. Hell if Shirley Temple admitted to being propositioned as a child and her career ending soon thereafter when she refused, do you really think the kids on TV today haven't been approached? Judy Garland said they kept her working and thin by keepingher doped up as a child, she was even forced to have an abortion. That was what... 50, 60 years ago... things haven't gotten better. They have goten worse.
