Leighton Meester Is Out of Veronica Mars

For months and months, everyone knew when Veronica Mars was going to start filming. Apparently though, despite the advance notice and the flexible schedule for shooting, somehow Leighton Meester was not available to reprise her role from the show in the movie. "Scheduling conflicts." Uh huh. Believe what you will. It was not that big of a part, but it was a very important part for Leighton Meester. It is going to be a very popular movie when it is released. You don't think she wanted to be in the movie? There were no scheduling conflicts. There were personality conflicts. replacing Leighton will be Andrea Estrella of the band Twin Sister. Estrella had never seen an episode of the show before being cast. She sent out a statement that was written by the publicist for the movie or for Rob Thomas. It was way too flattering and exactly what a movie publicist would say. "I watched the Veronica Mars pilot and was totally into it!" she wrote. "It's the exact kind of show I would get obsessed with, so it's been a bit of dream to be in a movie, especially being a messed-up rock princess. How could I say no? I think the VM fans are going to be very happy!"

    I thought it was weird that Leighton was ever going to be in the movie. She was in a couple of episodes and had a featured role in one, but her character wasn't important to the story as a whole. I figured they only wanted her in the movie because she became a big name since then.

      I wonder if they gave Wonky McValtrex a call? She was in a coupla epis too.

    Something is not being said here. So why didn't Leighton do it? That's still not clear here. She doesn't like Kristen or something?

    According to the Kickstarter update email I got yesterday, Leighton has a scheduling conflict and can't do the movie, so they recast her with Andrea Estrella. The role has a singing part in it.

    Apparently Leighton Meester got a role that had been Kristen's until she got pregnant.

    Also, Leighton is in The Judge with Dax. (Also RDJ.)

    i wonder who this bitch blew for that role for the movie that she has no understanding of what it's about. I think leighton was a causuallty of the casting couch working for other model/singer/musician/escorts

    Leighton is currently working on The Judge. On a different coast. There WAS a scheduling conflict. Not everything is a big dramatic conspiracy.
