ReplyDeleteOh no, loved him....RIP
ReplyDeleteToooooo Young!!.:-(
ReplyDeleteWonderful actor.... RIP.
ReplyDeleteThis guy brought it. Damn.
ReplyDeleteI liked him in everything he did. My personal favorite was Manhunter in '86 with William Petersen. Great flick.
ReplyDeleterest in peace, does anyone know if he was a smoker?
ReplyDeleteThis is sad news, much too young. I loved all those guys, Dennis, Jerry Orbach. RIP big guy.
ReplyDeleteRIP he was a good cop and a better actor
ReplyDeleteMidnight Run for me.
ReplyDelete"Make yourself a sandwich, drink a glass of milk... do some fucking thing."
Yes Vera! Loved Manhunter! Always played the best mobster.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll reincarnate as the royal baby!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is him as Cousin Avi in Snatch. Best Line - Yes, London. You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary fucking Poppins... LONDON.
ReplyDelete@JisforMe +1!! He's awesome in Snatch, totally forgot he was in that.. Which is a testament to what a good actor he was because I sure as hell remember Cousin Avi!
DeleteAnd what an awful way to go; hopefully it wasn't too painful.. Going to IMDB the man now; RIP!
Totally thought of Snatch as well. Best part of the movie
DeleteJisfor: agreed! Loved him in that role. Goyims.
DeleteLoved him. :( RIP
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame. He should have had at least 20 more years...
ReplyDeleteSo sad. I love Dennis Farina. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteShame, always played a brusque character but heard he was a great guy. I also immediately thought of uncle avi
ReplyDeleteLoved this dude. RIP
ReplyDeleteoh no. I loved him. he was always my answer to the- Who's your guilty Pleasure, who do you lust after that would surprise people - question. Such a talent. I loved him in everything but one of my favorites, because it was a different part for him, was That Old Feeling w/ bette midler. UGH so sad.
ReplyDeleteDoes this make the 3rd in the hollywood dies in 3's ? Dennis, Cory and Gandolfini? Cause people need to stop passing away damn it.
I really enjoyed his work.
ReplyDeleteRIP, Mr. Farina.
Very sad, Denny was a childhood friend of my dad's and always remembered us no matter how famous he got. Great Chicago cop and a great actor. Rest in Peace.

ReplyDeleteyep @ Midnight Run
ReplyDelete"Go get a fuckin' cream soda."
He was great in Sidewalks Of New york as well. Damn - Brittany Murphy is gone and now Dennis. That movie is going to be depressing to watch now.
:( this makes me really sad.
ReplyDeleteHeck I even loved him in that bad Bette Middler movie he was in.
JoElla: I remember that movie! When I was a kid we had pay tv for a while & that movie (about a divorced couple's daughter getting hitched?) was always on.
DeleteI think I have never seen something his, but he seemed to be a nice dude.
ReplyDeleteRIP.
Celebrities always die in 3's. Cory, and now Dennis. Wonder who is next.
ReplyDeleteRIP - liked him loads.. definitely too young
ReplyDeleteAnother Manhunter fan here! I think that was the first time I ever saw Dennis Farina (or maybe it was Miami Vice, Michael Mann used him in both). Dennis Farina is one of my favorite actors of all time. Rest in Peace.
ReplyDeleteHe will be missed.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a sad month. RIP.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great actor. Loved him. RIP.
ReplyDeleteHow can you not love him? Great actor. He will be missed. They just don't make them like that anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sad about this. I really enjoyed seeing him play Nick's dad on New Girl this past season. Nick's dad died but they brought him back for a flashback episode; I was looking forward to more flashback episodes with Mr. Farina. :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the folks at New Girl must be reeling; first Cory, who shared the network with them, and now Mr. Farina.
SonofaBITCH!
ReplyDeleteBlood clots don't come from smoking. They travel to the lungs from other parts of the body. I ended up with a blood clot in my leg and spent 18 months on blood thinners and had a screen inserted to prevent it from traveling to my lungs.
ReplyDeleteThe poor guy probably did not know he had a blood clot.
My father in law had one that traveled into his optic nerve and blinded him.
I have liked hims since he did Crime Story. RIP Mr Farina.
ReplyDeleteJisforMe and Alicia: My favorite too. He was awesome in that movie. Sad to see him go. What a fabulous actor. And nice to hear he never forgot where he came from.
ReplyDeleteRIP. He is a classic.
ReplyDeleteOMG i thought i was the only one that remembered him in Miami Vice, I absolutely loved dennis I'm so sad he's gone but loved his body of work.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I forgot he was in manhunter- i still believe that is a far superior version of the book it was based on.
Loved him. May he and his family have peace.
ReplyDeleteToo bad. He just had a smile that looked so genuine. Seemed like a really nice guy. RIP.
