Good lord that is horribly sad. RIP :(
ReplyDeletePoor guy . My heart goes put to his family.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad, so very young.
ReplyDeleteHe seemed like such a good soul. So sad.
ReplyDeleteI feel so sad for his family and friends, even Lea Michelle, and I can't stand her.
ReplyDeleteHaving a loved one succumb to their addiction is gut wrenching. I really hope if this was drug related, the posts about it here and elsewhere, are kept to a minimum. Let the guy rest in peace.
Extremely sad. He was involved with lots of charity work, seemed like a good guy.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad. I never watched Glee. Sorry to read that a talented young man has passed at such an early age.
ReplyDeleteI was reading awhile back a few stories from people who had met him. And everyone ha nothing but wonderful things to say about him, from fans to people who had worked with him. He seemed like such a gentle yet troubled soul.
ReplyDeleteI met him when the glee cast performed at the White House. He was the only cast member mingling with the crowd and signing autographs. He was so unbelievably nice and seemed genuinely happy to be there.
DeleteRIP Cory!
ReplyDeleteI was not a fan of Glee, but damn, this is sad.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the friggin Sunday Reveals? Or is this just turning into an obituary blog?
ReplyDeleteI am so sad about this. I do watch Glee and for some reason he has always pulled at my heartstrings. By all accounts Cory was gentle, kind and wonderful. I feel very depressed today. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and Lea.

ReplyDeleteI woke up at 5 and saw that was breaking news on my phone. Was utterly shocked! RIP :(
ReplyDeleteMy child suffers severe depression and is in a treatment facility as we speak . Many of the other patients are heavily addicted to drugs at her age and even younger. It has been such a sobering experience to see kids beginning rehab and the rate of those who are repeat patients. 2 of the kids had been back upwards of 15 times. I can't begin to understand how that can happen?
As a responsible and loving parent ,my child's circumstances are heartbreaking for us. We are blessed there are no substance abuse issues in our situation.
Addiction can be a life long battle. Some people never win the war. Tragic loss..
I'm sorry your daughter is suffering so much. My prayers for your family.
Delete@deree I'm sending prayers and good vibes to your daughter and family. I wish you all the best.
DeleteThank you! She comes home tomorrow. 2nd trip in 6 weeks so we really hope this time was more effective. A suicidal teen is something I wish on no parent.
DeleteI hope this time helped, too -- it is never easy when a loved one is going through this. Warm thoughts for you and your family.
DeleteHi,
DeleteSorry for your situation, I haven't commented here for ages, but I just wanted to say, a really good book which has helped my more than words can say, is 'the power of now', by Eckhart Tolle
I believe that you can never have too many tools when trying to deal with depression, anxiety etc.
DeleteI wish her well, and hope this helps x

Delete@Count: This is mother-fucking serious, somber shit. Where else other than a gossip site are we supposed to talk about this? Yer gonna git yer hand slapped fer sure. xoxo, Kym
ReplyDelete@Pip, I disagree that people should 'keep discussion to a minimum' if his death was caused by drug or alcohol abuse.
ReplyDeleteDiscussing what happened is how people learn to avoid his mistakes. After Health Ledger's death - which has been said to have been caused by him taking some sleeping medication, then getting groggy and confused and taking the medication again, and then perhaps a third time - I've made a careful practice of keeping all my sleeping medications in a separate room. I have to get out of bed, turn on a light, etc. to get at them.
If Cory combined meds, misused meds in a some other dangerous way, or had some other 'teachable moment' for everyone who uses alcohol and medication both legally and illegally, then discussing it is the best thing we can do.
RIP Cory
ReplyDeleteThis is unbelievably sad. I woke up with my 2 year old at 4am and couldn't sleep after reading about this. He seemed like a truly nice guy.
ReplyDeleteVery sad news. I didn't watch Glee, but Cory Monteith seemed like a good soul...RIP
ReplyDeleteI am sooo sad about this. I really liked him. No one ever had a bad word to say about him, almost unheard of among celebrities.
ReplyDeleteRIP Angel
Its a damn shame and so frustrating in that its almost impossible to help an addict. Rest in peace and good journey, my friend v
ReplyDeleteWTF???
ReplyDelete@Miss Mess: You can slap my as if I've been a bad boy. You can slap my chest if I'm in the corner and you yell "WOOOOOOO!" You can slap my face if you are on top and feelin feisty. Don't you dare slap my hand though.
ReplyDeleteCount: Me??? NEVER. After all we've shared, the tender moments, whispered secrets in the dark, I'm hurt you would think I'd even consider it.... Sad face. You're my best friend on this site...
DeleteBFF's? (Best fisting friends) nawww! How sweet!
DeleteB: For life!
Delete@Nutty, look at the latest blind reveal on here. This is what I mean. It is unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad one. Poor guy.
ReplyDeleteVery sad news. RIP Cory.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me sad.
ReplyDelete@Smears: I've never taken more than 2 fingers.
ReplyDelete@Miss Mess: Awww, that is sweet, Baby. If you were here, I'd press your head against my chest, pet yer hair and rub yer back. After a few warm moments, I'd pat yer ass and tell ya to get back to trollin.
Thanks Count-honey-sweetie-boo bear. Drying my tears and getting ready to go back to the front lines.
Delete@Count and @ Nah Nah: I'm fucking jealous as hell and will slap both of you!
ReplyDeleteGirl77007: There's always room for more!
Delete@Girl77007: Gotta have some meat to make a sammich. You in?
ReplyDeleteSo unbelievably sad. RIP, Cory.
ReplyDelete@Count: Dont even have to ask twice
ReplyDeleteaw damn... I hate when young talented people are gone too soon. His family must be devastated, my condolences to all his family and friends. Horrible news.
ReplyDeleteMmm, sammiches. I'll bring the condiments. And the slappy hands.
ReplyDeleteCount: I think we're starting to grow on people, yes? Girl: Welcome to our little club! xoxo, Kym
ReplyDeleteOh, I've been eyeing y'all up for a while now. It's just unfair to no longer be in the general area of Senor Count (and you?)... life works out funny that way.
ReplyDeleteGirl: All you have to do is close your eyes and click your heels and you'll be immediately transported to our den of debauchery and depravity. It's just that easy!
DeleteThis is an article I just read about him and his struggle, it's shocking how insightful he was yet still could not shake the monkey off his back.
ReplyDeletehttp://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/celeb-news/cory-monteith-rehab-know-history-addiction-134931905.html
@Pip I COMPLETELY disagree. If his death was drug/alcohol related (and I'm sure it was), we damned well SHOULD be talking about it so people might start to get that the party life is not all fun and games.
ReplyDelete@Girl77007: I'd prefer you brought dessert fixins, like Bananas, U-Bet Chocolate Syrup, Whipped Cream and Maraschino Cherries. We can play hide the cherries or hide the banana, which ever you ladies are into.
ReplyDeleteCee Kay, perhaps I should've been a bit clearer. If they want to use this to show the dangers of drugs and alcohol, that is fine. The first reveal today was about this man drinking on vacation.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't been dead 24 hours. I find it sickening using that info, the morning after his death, to get more clicks for this site. I realize this is a gossip site, but I am allowed to be disgusted over certain things here. That reveal is one of them.
I feel terrible for saying this (but not really) I think Lea is going to milk this for all the publicity she can. If they were taking separate vacations things might of been off between the two.
ReplyDeleteThough I don't think she will reach the level of Michelle Williams reinventing their relationship after Heath died publicity tour per movie.
My guess is he did his last hit of heroin. For some reason heroin users OD on the last hit they take before quitting. I guess they load up an extra-large dose or something?
ReplyDeleteVery few other drugs will kill experienced users. He didn't sound like he took pills, etc.
@Count: Dessert works better for me anyway. Done.
ReplyDeleteI have ruby red slippers and everything! There's no place like the den, there's no place like the den...
ReplyDelete@Girl: If you have a Dorothy outfit, I'll start walking to you now. By the time I get there, I should be hairy and stinky enough to pull off the Cowardly Lion.
ReplyDeleteAnn Nah Nah Mess = canopener = kympossible
ReplyDeleteSame trolling patterns.
Profane: I hope this finally puts that whole fucking MARCIE ridiculousness to rest!!!
DeleteAnd I gotta add, I'm super stoked to have my own pattern! It's like getting a china set named after me! How about "Morning Flower", or "Sunset Pearl"?
Delete@Profane et al: That is the order I'd do em in, too.
ReplyDeleteMiss Mess
C/O
Kympossible
Count: you get to do 'em all at the same time. Yummy.
DeleteI'm sure as hell not going to be wicked witch. I'm way too hot to pull that off. And Glenda? Hahaha! Going against type would be an understatement of epic proportions.
ReplyDeleteMiss Mess: Are you talented enough to switch schticks mid coitus? Or maybe each input triggers a certain personality. I think can opener should be the anal queen, way more rage than the others.
ReplyDeleteCome on, be Glenda. You and Dorothy could have some fun with your Magic Wand while I try and build up enough c-c-courage to join in.
Count, I'll do it for you. I'll do anything for you. Wondering if I should change my handle to "Sybil". She had way more personalities than I do. I could conjure up some real crazy shit. Maybe some stuff YOU haven't even thought of
DeleteI can see these chicks going all Fatal Attraction on the Count if he gave up the D.
ReplyDelete@Ware Cat: Naaaaaah ;)
ReplyDeleteJohnny Carson said it best years ago: "Hollywood eats it's young".
ReplyDeleteIt is always sad when someone young loses their battle with their addictions. RIP.
ReplyDeleteCory died in a hotel. John Belushi and Chris Farley both died in hotels. Last June, Lindsay nearly died in a hotel. Some crazy stuff happening in hotels. I gave up on Glee after season 1 - except for the occasional peek to look at the ridiculously hot Naya. Cory seemed like a good guy who knew how lucky he was to have the job he had.
ReplyDeleteChris Farley died in a condo.
DeleteChris Farley died in a condo.
DeleteI catch your drift. So many people have died in hotels, it's almost like the epitome of loneliness. John Belushi, Janis, Whitney, Anna Nicole....the list goes on. And then when you think of how many other people possibly died in hotels. It's really creepy and depressing. It makes me want to sleep in my car.
DeleteThis is really sad. I liked his character on Glee, and from all accounts he was a very sweet individual. My prayers to his friends and family and to all who are suffering from their addictions.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad about this. I saw him on that Bravo Actor's Studio show when the Glee cast was on and he seemed like he had a lot of sadness in his past.
ReplyDeleteSuch a young man with a bright future, lost--I hope he is at peace.

ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that consuming some of these drugs nowadays is extremely dangerous. Explains why we still have all the aging rockers but losing young people at an alarming rate. So sad!
ReplyDeleteThis news surprised and saddened me. I knew Cory had some problems, but I never anticipated this. TWLOHA founder Jamie Tworkowski wrote a blog post when Amy Winehouse passed and I think it's also very fitting for this sad news. I'm mobile and can't find the actual blog post, nor can I make this click, but here's a site that has the full text.

rip corey- set your passage toward the light
ReplyDeleteand deree, a prayer for you and your son/family. no parent should have to endure that kind of struggle. I pray your son battles n overcomes those demons so he/your family can enjoy life.
I'm reay shocked about this. I loved the first two seasons of Glee. And he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. So sad that he couldn't overcome his demons. So young. I really was not expecting this one.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Glee but, knew of him through magazines and gossip sites. I saw the news on TMZ and it really made me so sad. He was so young and seemed like a good person. RIP.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad about this. I stopped watching Glee years ago, but Cory always seemed like such a nice and a genuinely good guy who unfortunately battled some demons. Such a devastating loss!
ReplyDeleteWhen a tragedy likeness happens, my heart hurts so much.
ReplyDeleteI feel survivor guilt. I made it out of my addiction alive.
I wish Cory had too. And also Amy, Heath, Kurt, Whitney, AnnaNicole....the list goes on and on. Rest in Peace now beautiful ones.
not but *like this*. Sorry
DeleteSo sad and shocking. Was a huge Glee fan, especially the first two seasons. Even saw them on Glee tour front row VIP in Las Vegas. Such a talented guy. Gonna be so painful for his family and friends...Glee will be really weird without him. Can the show even go on? I can't imagine Lea getting over this for a long time. I hope he is in a better place. Rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit. This is incredibly sad.
ReplyDeleteHOOOOOLEEEEE F'ING SH#@!
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad even though I know him from a couple seasons of Glee. It shocked me, maybe because I was reading reveals about him posted and then read this which was a little tacky since the reveal would've had to be put up after the RIP.
ReplyDeleteHe obviously knew he had addiction problems and was fighting them even if it wasn't sticking. Peace to his family.
So sad. My dad was an addict until only recently, always thought he would overdose.RIP Cory. 31 is way to young
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect this. I know there has been quite a bit of talk about Cory drinking after rehab but I have to wonder if maybe what killed him was returning to drugs. A lot of people OD and die when they've been clean and then suddenly pick up where they left off with the drug use. Their bodies can't tolerate the change.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the issue with Heath Ledger was the Ambien - it was mixing it with other drugs. Assuming he was prescribed 2 tablets and he did indeed get confused and take 4 more, that wouldn't have killed him, even if he weren't a long-time Ambien user (which he apparently).
I take Ambien and while people react differently to drugs, I have certainly never forgetten I've taken them. I might decide to take more because I'm not asleep yet (I suspect this is what Heath did), but I don't forget. Most Ambien-related fatalities happen when people mix it with alcohol. Ambien already makes you do weird things, but mixing it with other drugs and alcohol is a recipe for disaster.
So sad to lose someone so young and talented. RIP Cory.
ReplyDeletederee, blessings to your daughter and your family. I've been in treatment three times, so I know it's tough for both a client AND her family. I promise, though, that there WILL be brighter days ahead. She will probably still struggle at times, but the good times DO happen and those of us with MI learn to really appreciate them as they come. Stay strong for her and I hope she can do the same.
Let's all try to love each other a little more this week, eh? Things like this are a good reminder to do so, I think.
