Charles Saatchi Files For Divorce - Blames Nigella Lawson

With the whole world a witness to the physical abuse Charles Saatchi inflicted on celebrity chef Nigella Lawson, you would think the guy would be humble and repentant and really want to not only win his wife back with contrition, but the world at large. Nope. In essence, Charles gave his wife and the world the finger as he filed for divorce from Nigella and then blamed her for the divorce. He says that she should have stuck up for him and said that what happened was nothing and that she has also choked him in public to keep his attention. Huh? Let me know the next time you see a couple talking and one person starts looking at their phone so you grab their neck and choke the life out of them just so you can have their full attention and resume normal conversation together again. Charles says he is regularly abused by Nigella, but he just presses on and so should she. He definitely wins the biggest a-hole of the week award.

  2. Enty's reading comprehension needs work. I believe he said she had done the same, just not in public.

  3. While he's doing her a favor by leaving, this shows what a disgusting asshole he is. I have a feeling he is doing this in the hopes she will crawl back to him which I hope she doesn't.

  5. The fact that he put out a newspaper ad announcing his divorce is so bizarre to me. This guy sounds like such an ass. I love Nigella. She is so fabulous. Hope she pulls through.

  7. I am astounded by the extent to which this man has his head shoved up his own ass. What a self-aggrandizing, deluded piece of shit.

  9. That is what a rich entitled narcissist does. Poor me, how dare you ruin my life by not defending my horrific behavior. What you saw is not what happened. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Narcissists are the arbiters of all they survey. Only their word counts.

He is sickening and it terrifies me to think what Nigella has been going through. Surely people knew what a vile, execrable piece of vomit her husband was. Jesus, I cannot even bear to think what her children endured in the house. He is truly evil.

Hope it is over. Won't hold my breath though. I am actually shocked Nigella didn't try to go back and she is probably insanely lucky HE decided to take offense at HER. It is rare that a narcissist will let its victim get of (relatively) scott free.

I predict further fireworks. And uh, what a PR GENIUS this guy is, right? I am thinking his business will be taking a bit of a hit.

I used to work as a temp for Saatchi in Los Angeles. That was one huge bowl of snotty assholes, if very talented.

  12. So happy to hear of an abused woman leaving...so many stay. I know I know, it's complicated, but still, I'm just glad she's getting OUT.

  13. He's a pig and has always been a pig. You would've thought that Nigella, being best friends with him and his wife before having an affair and breaking up their marriage, would've heard about his issues first hand. Oh well, glad she's moved on.

  14. I would LOVE to be able to strangle someone when they start texting in the middle of a conversation with me, actually...

Back on topic, I assume Nigella doesn't give a shit how the divorce happens, just as long as it does.

  15. One would think that having been the co-founder/leader of one of the worlds largest advertising agencies, he would know better then to take out an ad stating his side.
Perhaps he has nibbled one too many of the pills off of a Damien Hirst piece from his art collection...?

  16. Actually, I've heard that he's in dementia or Alzheimers, which can lead to violence. I adopted two rescue dogs a few years ago that had been abused by their elderly owner--a man who had been sweet as pie before Alzheimers. Sad.

  17. @figgy that's so sad :( I think my parents have dementia...it's never an 'overnight' thing, it's a slow process that sort of creeps up in conversation/watching their weird actions. It's tough...
He is an absolute asshole. I have no idea if Nigella abuses him in private. I doubt it, but I don't think we'll ever know the truth. The only sad thing for me is how common spousal abuse towards the man is. It's really difficult to talk about and speak out about. Obviously retaliating with more violence is not the answer, and I'm 99.9% sure Nigella hasn't done a thing to him. But, if it were true, it is really hard for a man to talk about being abused.

@CeeKay yes! I hate hate hate that.

  20. That poor man. I can't only imagine the constant mental abuse he must have endured to be pushed into yoking that broad up in public. I hope he seeks out counseling and works toward healing himself. There are plenty of warm and loving women out there, I am glad he is taking a chance to find one.

  25. If his dementia or Alzheimer's has progressed to the point where he in violent then why does he not have a carer?
