This former A list all movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee has dropped to a B because of her crippling depression which makes her unable to work much had a recent relapse. She had been doing much better and had been taking her meds, but decided she didn't need them and ended up holed up in her hotel room out of the country for a few days and would not come out. Finally she let one of her friends in who said that our actress needed to be at an event and that she was getting paid to be there and our actress got up, got dressed and was out the door and acted like nothing had happened. She is really on the edge.
Catherine Zeta Jones
Good for her friend..depression is crippling and not something needing to be gossiped about, especially when addressed correctly. I think very highly of someone who lets their issues "breathe" so to speak.
ReplyDelete:(((
ReplyDeleteA sad thing is that she said she doesn't want to be the poster girl for bipolar disorder. She really doesn't want to have to deal with this publicly. I love those who speak out about their MI, but if she doesn't want to, that's okay too.
Sad. Enty it seem like you wont revaled all the blinds. Its 6 pacfic time and you still on january. I love the ones you did tho.
ReplyDeleteYes- so weird! At this rate we will be doing reveals for a week. What's different?
ReplyDeleteI can't understand the "I don't need these meds" thing. Whatever chemicals the body isn't producing don't just 'start' because the pills are supplying it and it has learned how by example...
ReplyDeleteunless you have a MI you can not understand what its like to live the day to day. I praise her for at least acknowledging it publicly but don't believe it should be public fodder.
ReplyDeleteShe has admitted to something that so many non famous people feel ashamed admitting. I like her and I'm rooting for her. And I'm pleased she unlocked Michael's door to let him make Behind The Candelabra. ;-)

ReplyDeleteAnd that just totally ruins what little joy there is to be had. A healthy functioning sex drive is so important on so many levels. Been there my friend. I feel for you...
DeleteThis one was previously revealed too
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, and privacy, to her.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad and so typical of people with bipolar disorder. They start to feel better and believe they don't need meds--or they feel dull and flat from their mood stabilizers and stop taking them. It is a very difficult disease to treat.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone thought this one was Hilary Swank.
ReplyDeleteI've always had a soft spot for her- I hope she finds balance and treats herself well.
ReplyDeleteThis is so bitchy.
ReplyDeletePeople who have bipolar do that. They think they're doing great and don't need the meds, stop taking them, and the disorder kicks in. Anyone who's lived with (or knows) someone who is bipolar is familiar with the cycle.
But hey, wtg stigmatizing it all over again so people can toss around "she must be off her meds" the same way they toss around "she must be on her period." Which are you, Miss Bitchy Enty? And how does that feel?
So if it was known that she actually had a problem why did "Enty" throw her so much shade for going to "rehab"?
ReplyDelete@Tabby that was what I was wondering too
DeleteWasn't this revealed to be Hilary Swank before...?
ReplyDeleteWasn't this revealed to be Hilary Swank before...?
ReplyDeletethe popular guess when first posted was Rene Zellwegger with michelle Williams mentioned also. Kara was only poster to get it.
ReplyDeleteWeren't their lot of implications that her last trip to rehab was for drugs or drinking?
ReplyDeleteI've done the same thing. Some of us, no matter how smart we are, decide to stop meds because we're fixed. I wouldn't doubt her trip to rehab was booze related; as awful as it is, loads of us use booze and drugs to primitively medicate ourselves. Get well, CZJ, you're one in a billion!
ReplyDeleteMy mother suffers from the same thing. In a way, I do too, but more on the manic side. It's tough. I wish her well.
ReplyDeleteTabby and MAC, I thought the same thing.
ReplyDeleteSide effects are a bitch, and yes, one side effect IS feeling better and thinking that the meds may not be needed (because the OTHER side effects...are a bitch). If you've never had to take psychotropic meds, consider yourself blessed, and please don't judge or question those of us who take them.
What AKM said above. It seems like most people who have lived have battled depression. It's a dark, scary, cruel world sometimes. I've struggled with depression myself time and again, whenever I have too much time on my hands, like if I'm out of work, I get extremely depressed. Helping others, being in the service industry and putting my energy into brightening other's days, helps alot. Just taking that focus off of myself, and my small problems, trying to give positive energy and help to others it my saving grace. I feel better though after reading some of the comments from this thread, it seems like crippling depression is more widespread than I previously thought. I wish her the best, and everyone struggling with depression, bi polar disorder, any kind of mental illness.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't be posting reveals about mental illness.
ReplyDeleteImagine being married to a sex addict and having to take medication that seriously depletes your sex drive. Fun, fun!
ReplyDelete@Tabby, that was my first thought.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see there are people that actually understand what she is going through. Enty was cruel to know and yet still imply she went to rehab for some other reason. In less you've been through it you just can't understand it. This just really pisses me off.
I feel really sad for her and her family
ReplyDeleteBack in the day, being bi-polar was just called being an a**hole.
ReplyDeletePretty sure you're the asshole, Katie.
