According to this former almost A list all movie actress who is now fighting her way back up to B by being on movies and television says that she hates one person in Hollywood. One. An actor. B list who has really only one big hit television role to his credit but who keeps right on going with it. Our actress thinks she took the fall for her affair. She struggled and took the publicity hit and he never said a word to help her or in support of her and now he has moved on with someone new and acted like nothing ever happened. Our actress holds a grudge and starts shaking with anger when she talks about it all.
Julia Stiles/Michael C Hall
What about Six ft Under? That was considered to be a TV hit.
ReplyDeleteReally. He has 2 huge hits, and doesn't he do theatre too? And I'd consider him A- at least. Maybe I'm crazy, but that description up there doesn't seem to fit him.
Deleteethorne with the win!
ReplyDeletelook at the date everyone! almost at the end of January!
Blah, blah. Shouldn't have engaged in the affair in the first place.
ReplyDeleteShe had an affair with a married man. How did she think that was gonna play out? You lay down with dogs, you get fleas. No sympathy here.
ReplyDeleteSix Feet Under was only the best TV series of all time!
ReplyDeleteEnty must not have been a fan.
He took a hit, his marriage. Oh & by the by, Dexter is his biggest role but he was also an integral character in Six Feet Under on HBO. LOVE LOVE LOVED that show. Sorry Julia, u knew he was married & so did he. That's the risk u take when u mess w/ a married man.
ReplyDeleteHow can one only hate one person in hollywood?
ReplyDelete@Svetlana So true!
DeleteCan someone translate this? All of the pronouns are messing with me. So she did have an affair with Dexter?
ReplyDeleteDidn't a lot of people think it was BS and that no affair actually happened? If so then this reveal is kinda juicy. ;)
ReplyDeleteEnty revealed the affair long ago in one of the bi reveal days
DeleteLol JINX x 3! Lotsa SFU fans here ! :-)
ReplyDeleteMichael C. Hall is pretty close to his character. He doesn't talk about anything in his personal life. I doubt he would of talked about his cancer if not for his physical appearance. Never talked about his divorce either.
ReplyDeleteYou reap what you sow.
But Jennifer Carpentar did a hell of a job trashing her name up and down Hollywood.
Yep, & now Jennifer is involved w/ a married man!!! :\
Deletewhat timebob said
ReplyDeleteDude, how did she not know that the woman ALWAYS gets the blame?!?! It ain't fair, but that doesn't mean it changes.
ReplyDeleteIf true, I can't feel too sorry for her- she knew he was married, hell his wife works on the show too! But their split might have been something else all together, esp. With him having major heslth problems. Sometimes that really changes a relationship.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, SFU is a pretty notable show too.
I believe it was one of the founding fathers, perhaps John Adams, who said, "Close yo' legs to married men!"
ReplyDeleteYes, yes it was! Lmao!!!!! That may have been NeNes finest moment!
Delete6FU wasn't really a hit, at least here. If you ask 20 people on the street about it, roughly ten have heard about it and 3 have actually watched it.
ReplyDeleteBut if you ask about Dexter, more than 12 have at least heard of it.
So Dexter is his "really one hit show", as the BI states. The word "really" probably refers to the minority of people who know 6FU, apart from its alleged quality (I have never watched it).
I guess I'd call him A with 2 hit shows, and he's the star of a huge hit.
ReplyDeleteI kind of feel sorry for Julia, taking all the blame, and who knows what he told her, he and Jennifer could have been heading for a split and Julia saw lots of coldness between them. I could see Jennifer being a huge bitch, and Michael was heartless when she accepted the fall.
@msgirl
DeleteShe's actually a very sweet person and not a huge bitch at all...

Delete"Six Feet Under" was as popular as "Dexter" and MCH got Emmy nominations for both series.
ReplyDeleteJennifer took him away from his first wife, so what did she expect? Julia had an affair with a married man. What did she expect? Obviously, the dude is a serial cheater.
ReplyDeleteJuicy! I didn't know that MCH left his wife for Jennifer! Makes sense she's onto another one
DeleteMCH was divorced before Dexter started filming. You can't blame JC for that one. He's just a serial cheater.
ReplyDeleteMCH was divorced 2 months after Dexter premiered on Showtime. You would have to take into consideration all the pre-show rehearsal time with Jennifer Carpenter before you jump in and say she had nothing to do with his divorce from Amy Spanger.
ReplyDelete@katie....well Julia did deny it and also apparently the evidence was pretty thin , like that someone on the crew saw him ogling her butt. I always wondered if the pap shots of her crying in the airport were taken right after a call from him. And about a month later, he had a new girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteMCH was very nice when I met him... but he is dexter- his house was cold, organized and compartmentalized
ReplyDeleteI wonder why Julia did the YouTube series WIGS which Michael was the big star of? ?
oh well Morgan the new girlfriend good luck
Six Feet Under was big in its day and had considerable critical acclaim. It's finale is on most lists of the best ever. And so viewers have had MCH on the television sets pretty consistently since 2001.
ReplyDeleteJulia Stiles - why would anyone stick up for adultery? And what could he have possibly said to make it better?
From what we know now, it seems like a pattern with Hall and Carpenter, and Stiles should not be the only one gossiped about, but I don't have much sympathy for her--she screwed around with a married man....you get what you get...lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteI think the issue is that she was slut-shamed, and he really wasn't. She was labeled a whore, and in spite of being a serial cheater, he doesn't wear that yoke.
ReplyDeleteBoth of them are to blame, and should have been given their share of it. But in this male-centric world, that wasn't going to happen.
For me, it's not about sympathy. But blame both parties, and I didn't see enough of that.
@Layna Day: thank you for saying that. I'm tired of affairs being one sided, with the woman getting the majority of the blame and everyone being okay with that. It was a two way street in the heat of the moment and it should be a two way street in the aftermath.
Deleteso let me guess we won't be having Lumen back this season? shame cause that was a loose-end
ReplyDeleteThey could always have Lumen come back this final season and kill Dexter. Cut his dipstick off and choke him with it. She could ad lib what she really wants to say to him.
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity, has there been a single woman in the industry who has had a successful career/image immediately after being caught for cheating/being the other woman?
ReplyDeleteHer career took a hit long before this. I only know of the affair from this site. It doesn't seem to be common knowledge in terms of celeb gossip.
ReplyDelete@Layna, I get your point but that's more of a society issue and not really something MCH did.
ReplyDeleteI would never cheat on someone or have an affair with a married man but I'm old enough to know how it works. The man is usually forgiven and the girl always gets the blame. If your with him while he's cheating don't expect him to be a great guy who will do right by you.
The fuck? DAVID FISHER! I think he was nominated for Emmys for 6FU!
ReplyDeleteNot to split hairs, but SFU is an ensemble dramedy, whereas Dexter hangs on MCH. I don't see the problem with how this post is written.
ReplyDelete@Svetlana, one notable exception to the rule w/b Angelina Jolie. But generally the woman gets dragged through the dirt (unfairly).
Always liked Julia Stiles...she's got plenty of time to rebound at this point.
@Svetlana, Elizabeth Taylor.
ReplyDeletePoor Meg Ryan. And for gross Russell Crowe too.
Julia's cool, I hope she gets something great.
How ironic that the woman who made a big stink about being "the wronged woman" is effing a...wait for it...married man!
ReplyDeleteHope Julia's getting a chuckle out of some woman calling Carpenter a homewrecker, slut, bitch, etc.
@Hannah Banana...I was just going to chime in and say the same thing. Shame on her for getting tangled up with a MARRIED Avett brother!!! Boatloads of shame!!!
ReplyDeleteJulie Stiles is a great actress! I'm really surprised that her having an affair with a married man upset her career in Hollywood. Seems so archaic and outdated. Who doesn't cheat, seems to be the better question. For years I'd see a movie just because she was in it. She's great.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, when will this double standard end? Yeah, Stiles was cheesy if she fooled around with Dexter, but HE was the MARRIED ONE. Why didn't Carpenter vent her spleen at HIM? Oh, I see - he was the innocent one, until that HUSSY came along and forced him to have sex with her! He was defenseless!
ReplyDeleteReally, the slut-shaming and misogyny from supposedly modern women is just incredible.
