There are a lot of good stories coming out of the Boston Marathon tragedy and someone who is not necessarily known for being a really kind person has contributed to the kindness coming out of the tragic events. he is A+ list for sure. In fact, some would say that this celebrity was the most A+ a celebrity could ever be. Anyway, three people he only knows slightly all were running in the Boston Marathon. One of the people, who he knew the best is on her 7th surgery and is still in critical condition. Her sister lost her leg and her husband suffered 3rd degree burns because of the explosion. The celebrity has offered to not only pay their medical bills but to fly them home on his private jet and take care of them once they get back home until they all are at full health.
Michael Jordan
Fuck, that's really nice if him. Seriously.
ReplyDelete*of. Waving fist at autocorrect: damn you!
DeleteWow. Now that is kindness.
ReplyDeleteI love the kindness blinds!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's nice. Good for him.
ReplyDeleteMichael always seemed nice to me, just has a gambling problem. I like him.
ReplyDeleteNow THATS A STAR. Take note Rihanna, Bieber, and Kardashians.
ReplyDeleteAnna, I'm so used to reading 'Kartrashians' that I was confused at first by your comment.
DeleteIf I could be like Mike
ReplyDeleteI always thought Jordan seemed like a good guy. I guess I haven't heard any horror stories about his attitude. He's always been charitable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great act. I love reading these types of blinds.
ReplyDeleteJordan doesn't need to prove shit to anybody whether you like him or not. If this is true, kudos for not letting the whole world know you did it.
ReplyDeleteBombston victims will continue to receive financial from now all through the 1st anniversary of the bombing, the 10th and so forth with book and movie deals.
If I was a black celebrity, I would focu$ attention on making sure Trayvon's fam was taken care of.
Geez curious. Take a day off. To be so cynical and basing e/thing on race. I DO understand. I'm a mulato & decided to live life being accountable for myself. Not referencing race or political, socio-economic, gender issues.

Delete@just curious you are correct but he has enough to help his friends also.
ReplyDeleteHe should do both.
I love white people that are not prejudice or hypocritical.
Hey worst company to work for : who do you work for?
Delete@JC, your world doesn't need to be so black and white.

ReplyDeleteOffered is not the same as delivered. Has he actually done it?
ReplyDeleteMichael Jordan has always kept it classy. We all have personal issues, that's not the point here. The point is that he sees a true need and helps, unconditionally and with grace. God bless.
ReplyDeleteAmen Dingle w the rad nomenclature!
DeleteI definitely consider Jordan to be the most famous sports player ever. Most well known for sure. Babe Ruth is up there but I think it's Jordan.
ReplyDeleteAnd could we please stop fucking talking about Trayvon? Bitching and moaning will not change the verdict. I guarantee his family is set for life and there will be hundreds of charities and clubs and the like in his name and honor. It doesn't make it any better but that's the way it's going to be.
Glad it's him I've always had a soft spot for the guy.
ReplyDeleteJordan cheated and gambled. He also lost his father in a terrible way (and those 2 punks stole the champ ring he gave to him.)
ReplyDeleteTru I am pretty sure the terminology was such because some or all were still undergoing surgeries at the time. Big cheer for him going out of his way to be kind and not advertising it.
He is easily the best player the NBA has ever had.
Bacon : what a thorough history! Gambling's a horrible addiction. True story? I was a ham let's help counsellor and its just as awful as any other addiction. Hope he got some help. Or has some useful tips. I'm broke!
Delete* I was a gambler's help counsellor! Autocorrect has outdone itself! I'd like to counsel ham. And bacon. Possibly pork rinds and crackling.
DeleteCounsel up some ham, eggs, grits, fresh biscuits with butter and a little honey. Some fresh fruit, just to make our mother's and doctor's happy - have to admit, they're great....oh, and coffee! I always start the day with at least two sessions of coffee counseling.
DeleteI would like to see Jordan and some of the other black celebs should fund a assassination of Zimmerman. The man should never walk again.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me that Emmitt Till's murderers stayed alive for so long after they were found not guilty of his murder.
I gotta admit. Even in Aus, we think Zimmerman deserves karma. It's gotta come. Thank fuck the only people w guns here shoot criminals.
DeleteBless Michael for such kindness.
ReplyDeleteHave known MJ for years. This is not at all surprising.
ReplyDeleteIt does actually give one hope. Not much around. Why aren't more Acts of kindness outted?
DeleteThat is very kind. Good for him!
ReplyDeleteVery good of MJ. I have always heard he was charitable.
ReplyDeleteMichael Jordan isn't just A+ for life, he's A+ for *eternity*, like friggin' Achilles or something. Even after all these years, people still say "the Michael Jordan of _____" when they mean someone is the best at something.
ReplyDeleteAwwweeee Stephen. I agree. New found respect.
DeleteI've never thought of him as a bad person but I'm also not very familiar with him other than the basics. He always comes off as kind, and this was a very kind and generous thing to do.
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't know much about him, I wouldn't say that gambling makes you a bad person or that cheating defines how you treat individuals.
We should be like Mike. He's awesome. I did love Spacejam.
ReplyDeleteIt was great that he reached out to help those poor people. Burns are such hideous injuries to recover from, and in America the bills must be insane with or without health insurance.
ReplyDeleteI like the recent kindness posts. Way more interesting than the latest K-trash or Babypants bullshit.

ReplyDeleteJustCurious- The Martin family have exploited TM's death for every dollar they could since the very beginning. His death is NOT comparable to Emmett Tills, not even close. You really hate Hispanic men huh? Oh wait you thought GZ was White?
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect post for my 2 MJ stories.
ReplyDeleteMy brother has been MJ's biggest fan since back in the day. Shortly after MJ opened his restaurant in Chicago, my brother and his family went to eat there. During the course of their meal, they kept hearing sporadic comments from MJ over the load speaker. As they got up to leave, they realized that it wasn't Jordan's voice over the speaker they heard, but it was actual MJ who was in the booth behind them that had been having dinner with friends.
Naturally, my brother & family politely approached him for an autograph. Not only did he oblige and chatted and was the nicest person ever, but when he was told my nephew Jordan was named after him, he comped their meal.
Additionally, Jordan distracted me in a good way during the birth of my daughter. It was June 14th, 1998 and I was having an emergency C-section. Needless to say, I was freaking out at the thought of having my belly cut into to take out a little human. What got me through the ordeal was the fact that Jordan was playing the last game he played in his career on that day and he was in the championships. The doctors working on me kept talking about the game and where being updated by incoming and outgoing staff during my c-section. All I kept hearing was about the play Jordan had just made or the points he had just scored, etc. It was a welcomed distraction. Before I knew it, my baby was born and the Bulls won the championship...Jordan's last one with the Bulls. I have always been grateful for the personal importance of being distracted by Jordan's game that day!
He's one cool legend!
I've never heard unkind things about him, and I lived in Chicago the entire time he was playing and well after. Yeah, he cheated on his longtime wife but I think that's a given with pro athletes, especially basketballers.
ReplyDeletesomeone nailed it too
ReplyDeletegreat connection with NC victims
guys are detectives
