Blind Item #9
This A+ name who is now a shell of her former almost A list mostly movie actress self has apparently been banned from ever entering a certain country again after a hotel claims that a rare piece of jewelry was stolen by the actress. They have kept it quiet, but the insurance company is going to pursue a claim against the actress. The only action the hotel took was to talk to someone who had it arranged that the actress is not allowed back inside the country. I don't think she was planning on going back anyway.

ReplyDeleteLindsay and country is Brazil. The gov't there is notoriously corrupt, so taking a bribe to block someone isn't farfetched.

DeleteWow, ouch. I kind of thought the 250K people protesting about government corruption last month might have had a bit of reason to be pissed off, but obviously I have that all wrong. Certainly my notion of bribery between executive and judiciary power in a country where vote buying has been an issue for a long time is just an indication of how naive and mindless I am.
DeleteThat was a pretty harsh comment. Nobody suggested that executive and judiciary power are the same thing, just that a government that's been accused of corruption for years and years might find a way to get around the official rules when the right person asks.

ReplyDeleteIf the hotel chain is large and powerful and most importantly RICH enough, it could bribe the officials and the government. Also,if this piece of jewelry was important to this country like the Crown Jewels (for example) then the entire country would be pissed off about it.

I don't see this as Lohan or Demi. Who has been to Dubai lately? I know they have harsh penalties for theft, and I can see them having a celeb banned from entry and the insurance company discreetly going after the thief.

ReplyDeleteEnty refers to Lindsay as A+ name recognition all the time. In the most recent reveal about her (2/27/13) she's referred to as a C list actress with A++ name recognition.
