Blind Item #2

This former B list reality star from a very hit cable reality show and now D list celebrity has managed to bring a charity to the brink of bankruptcy because of the fees she demanded to help the charity and with the bills she charge to the charity without them knowing.

    1. VIP as much as I can't stand him, I don't think his business people would let her screw with his foundation.

  7. @VIPblonde - hubby looks SO thrilled to be with her - not. Would she bankrupt her own husband's foundation?

BTW, this guy graduated from Vandy. You think he'd be smarter.

  9. @Moonmaid Maybe it's me being a 49ers fan but this dude always seems to have the "duhhhh" look on his face. I could be biased though.

  13. @moonmaid. You'd be amazed at the idiots that go to University of Michigan and are dumber than a box of rocks. Football players have different rules. I was a student- athlete at a division 2 school and I had to work extra hard

  14. I have no idea who this is, but as someone who has spent more than a decade in the nonprofit world, I'm laying FULL blame on the charity. It is shocking how badly run some organizations can be. Getting starry-eyed over some D-lister and agreeing to pay for all kinds of shit without carefully laying it out ahead of time is absolutely ridiculous. No charity should ever pay for celebrity involvement unless a sincere and thorough cost-benefit analysis has been performed. Paying someone like Cher to raise money for you? Probably not a bad bet. Paying someone who used to be a Real Housewife or lived in The Hills? Are you out of your damn mind?!

I spent seven years at a literacy org with celeb involvement ranging from a huge singer/actress, to a multi-Oscar nominee, a First Lady (and her daughter), a number of professional athletes, numerous authors and an assortment of other celebrities. You know how much we paid them for their involvement? Zilch. Nothing. Zero. Nada. Zip. These were people who liked what we did and wanted to help, whether it was sitting on the Board or doing a single event. Except for one celeb (which was before my time and I heard about second-hand and wasn't even *that* bad), everyone was 100% professional and nice.

  15. @NomNom83 Exactly! It's pretty standard knowledge that charities don't pay for celebrity endorsements. Hell, one of my employers got a bleepin' Sir Elton John CONCERT (not just appearance) for free.

This sounds like a very poorly-run organization.

  16. as it should be nomnom83- i can never ever get why celebs are so gdamn demanding when they have the kind of affluences a european royal family has (well...). i would be honored if a charity asked me to help them and i'd do it for free!

actors get great pr/charity gets $$$

  19. Right Sandybrook..Some people create charities to hide their $$ (PMK!) Anybody who takes advantage of that should burn in hell. (Along with people who sell T-shirts and promise to donate to a cause only to pay upon public humiliation.)

Look what happened to the "Cups of Tea" guy. Greg Mortenson. His charity was so badly managed it truly looked like he was stealing. Although to be honest, being paid @$190K seems a bit "generous" to me for a charity.
