Amanda Bynes' Parents To Drop Conservatorship
Apparently over the past few days, Amanda Bynes and her parents, well, her mom anyway have been speaking and visiting regularly and there is a good chance that her mom is going to withdraw her petition to become conservator of Amanda. There has been talk that the medications Amanda is taking have made her lucid all the time and not just for ten hours at a time and that doctors and the court appointed attorney believe a conservatorship is not necessary and will tell the judge that Amanda should be released from her hold and set free on the world again and that if anything happens in the future, they can revisit the situation. There has also been talk that Amanda realizes she has been spending more than she has and will control her spending through the help of a financial adviser and get this, is talking about acting again to replenish her bank account.
Aargh, I hope she doesn't parlay this outburst into a career. That would be the ultimate tragedy.
ReplyDeleteIf she can get hired...
ReplyDeleteI just worry that she won't keep taking her medication.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people w mental health issues, particularly schizophrenia tend to drop their meds when feeling ok. Hopefully they've got her on an anti-psychotic like Seroquel and some mood stabilisers
DeleteEveryone loves a good comeback! I know the perfect project: a Thelma and Louise remake starring Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan!!
ReplyDeleteWith Das Bieber as the Brad Pitt character!
DeleteIf the likes of the Kartrashians and the Teen Moms can get offers, why not someone who has actual talent?
ReplyDeleteGawd, I hope she stays away...show business isn't good for those with mental health issues.
I love you, VIP, but say it ain't so!! Thelma and Louise can't be redone!!!!
ReplyDeleteTrain wrecks can get work in show biz. See Lilo and Sheen and Tara Reid. If she wants it she will have to start at the bottom and climb her way up. But she did quit so maybe she doesn't want or need it.
ReplyDeleteMeanie, wth was point of that movie anyway? Its cool to die?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, there must be alot more going on here than we know about. Like most MI people, shes fine on her meds. But they have trouble staying on them and then there is serious trouble, so i dont inderstand this decision at sll. She needs at least 6 months of overseeing.
And so the the comeback begins.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit.....I am pulling for an Amanda Bynes comeback waaayyyy harder than Lindsay Lohan.
ReplyDeleteI hope Lohag gets lost in Venice & doesn't come back, but I hope Amanda remembers to take her pills everyday and joins everyone else in the world soon.
No way. Bieby is more like the Christopher McDonald character, who thinks he hot and gangsta but is just a big pansy in the end.
ReplyDeleteWow she's realizing she has a problem and yall still talk shit about her. You just can't win with people. I just hope she stays on her meds and takes control of her money. I am glad she is ok.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is when they feel like they are fine and don't need their meds. Been there myself, plus have 2 family members who are bipolar. Sometimes a conservatorship is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually great news. I hope with the increased lucidity, she can figure out how to turn away from the bathroom mirrior, look over her shoulder, and snap a pic of them buttcheeks for us. What better way to kick off a career comeback than to show that loveliness to the world.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually approve of conservatorships. I didn't in the case of Britney, but then nobody ever mentioned schizophrenia in regard to her. It has been mentioned in Bynes' case, which makes hers another issue entirely if it's true.
ReplyDeleteI agree with posters who think it likely that Bynes won't stay on her meds. But she can't, until recently, have understood just how serious her illness is. That makes me think her getting another chance to be on her own, to take her meds as directed and with their help to live her own life, is probably best in this situation.
I always thought Britney's parents were far more concerned about keeping the gravy train flowing than about her; I don't get that vibe from Bynes' parents, however. So if she does get second chance and chooses to stop taking her meds, then a conservatorship would probably be in order.
She'll stop taking her mess. That's the problem with how we deal with mental illness. She can do whatever she wants even though she's mentally ill.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know the meds are working, it can take a while before they have impact. Getting her career in track might do her a world of good.
ReplyDeleteCan you act crazy for over and year's time and recover in a week?
ReplyDeleteThis was an expensive but genuinely original publicity stunt.
ReplyDeleteTru, true that. At least that's my impression. on the one hand she looks insane -- on the other hand, a hundred thousand girls are making duck lips into a camera today while wearing a blue wig and thinking they look good.
ReplyDeleteA big mistake her parents will regret.
ReplyDelete@trudy...
ReplyDeleteThe response to drugs for schizophrenic patients is often swift and amazing.
On the other hand, the compliance rate for schizophrenic patients (insofar as staying on their meds) is one of the lowest of all psychiatric illnesses that are drug responsive. The likelihood she will stop her meds at some point is very high.
Hard to believe meds are already working, usually takes weeks for symptoms to decrease, so idk if she 'sobered up' so to speak. It may of been the wake up call she needed to get it together, or eles it was great acting.

ReplyDeleteSomebody should come up with a time release delivery system that can be implanted under the skin. And the patient has to consent, but once it's in place and delivering the correct dosage, the lives of these unfortunate people will be vastly improved.
ReplyDeleteThe mental illness laws are a catch 22. If you get on the meds & stop appearing to be a threat to yourself and others the law says you may return to the street where you are free to stop taking the meds. At which point you again become a threat to yourself and others.
oh please she'll just drop the meds once the two weeks is up and she's out of the psych ward
ReplyDeleteThe big thing here is that amanda has finally realized that she is not mentally well and needs medication to function normally. I would love to see her make a comeback. Her next movie will be huge because everyone will want to know if she still has IT.
ReplyDeleteI believe that she's playing nice so she can get released and then once she's out she'll revert to her outlandish behavior.
ReplyDeleteGonna be a sad and lonely life for this one. I'll be looking forward to the casting couch reveals involving her.
ReplyDeleteI hope she's getting the right treatment(s). Good for her.
ReplyDelete@lazy
ReplyDeleteThere is a med for schizophrenia that is injectable that patients get once a month or so. Invega is one.
How can they remake Thelma and Louise with those two when they have already gone over the cliff IRL?
ReplyDeleteI think the conservatory scared AB back to reality. She knows well that her parents are whacked way worse than her. And that might keep her on the meds. Good luck to her. At least she got away from her parents, unlike Liho.
ReplyDeleteLet's just hope that the judge takes care to have medication and social worker visits compliance as part of her probation/sentencing.
ReplyDeleteIf she has a MI I hope she takes her meds and takes back control of her life, however I just feel like she did all the crazy stuff she did for the publicity and now has everyone's attention and sympathy and decided to make a comeback in acting since she blew most of her savings with her crazy antics.
ReplyDeletewasn't that a little too fast????
ReplyDeleteDon't buy it
perhaps she is just saying what they want to hear.......
