The Way To See Victoria Falls

This BBC reporter was convinced by some people that he would be fine if he jumped into a pool right above the 300 foot drop at Victoria Falls. It turns out they were right, but that is one big leap of faith, even if you have seen others go before you.

  1. Pardon my all caps rant, but NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL WOULD I EVER EVER EVER get NEAR that water! I almost just peed myself watching it. NOOOOOO

  3. For a minute there, I was expecting to see a compilation of Posh Spice accidents.

  4. I remember I went to VF's but it was off season and the Devil's pool as that area is called was not open.

  5. I've seen that before. The rock just under the surface is kind of like a wading pool.
    I would still puke, though.

  8. The falls would turn yellow from the amount of terrified peeing I would be doing!

  9. I can't stand too close to a balcony railing once I get above the 5th floor. There is not a chance in hell I'd do what he did.

  10. this area is called devil's pool and as someone else mentioned, if you go during the right time of year it is quite common for tourists (albeit the more adventurous ones!!) to take the plunge!! definitely on my bucket list!!

  11. I'm still in trouble with my mother (18 years later) for the picture of me sitting on the edge of the rock that sticks out off the edge of Half Dome. I'm pretty sure this would get me ground for life, no matter what my age.

  13. There is no way I would ever do it but I have seen quite a lot of videos on youtube of people doing this. I don't think it is uncommon for people who visit the area.

  17. Queasy.

But also have the Pulp Fiction / Rosanna Arquette expression on my face - the one she has after Uma Thurman revives from the adrenaline shot.

  21. I have done it! When I went, some local people were swimming in it, too. No crocodiles! If you want even more adventure, you should go white water rafting below. There is where the crocodiles live and the grade 5 rapids lie - "extremely difficult, long and violent rapids, steep gradients, big drops and pressure areas."
