Sophia Grace And Her First Original Song
This just seems like way too much. Apparently people are willing to watch it though because it has 2M views in a week. I wonder if she and Honey Boo Boo can make a duet.

Sorry, but this is way too grown-up sounding for an 8-year old! It's not cute and reminds me of Jon Bennet Ramsey.
ReplyDeleteWonder what Cindi Lauper thinks of the obvious similarity to her hit?
ReplyDeleteI also thought this was too grown up sounding for kids that age. Let kids be kids!
The people behind this should be very, very ashamed. However most likely they think it's totally ok to make it clear to little girls that they should be vapid, spoiled party princesses driving pink cars and just having fun. Being cute and dumb is the only way to go, girls!
ReplyDeleteHorrifying
ReplyDeleteTerrible.
ReplyDeleteWhen Ellen first started having Sophia Grace and Rosie on, they were a lot smaller and it was cute, but Sophia Grace is 10 now--and I don't know any 10 yr old who still is into tutu's and princess stuff.
ReplyDeleteShe probably will be a good little singer but this marketing is a little too Toddlers and Tiaras for me. They also had a children's book they were marketing on Ellen's show recently.
I do love when Ellen has them go on the red carpet and interview celebrities tho--they mainly just scream when they see someone famous and it is very cute.
Ridiculous. How was this even recorded? She can't even lip sync to the playback, which is ok because she is a little girl, but why fake it like that????
ReplyDeleteI think it speaks to the state of our popular culture that a 6 year old can make a video that could be put on a club radio station and it wouldn't sound out of place
ReplyDeleteAlso, that there is ostensibly a market for 6 year old club "music"
*10 year old. Thanks car54
ReplyDeleteThese girls were cute at first. They've worn out their welcome. Go back home.
ReplyDeleteRebecca Black 2.0.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Whip My Hair.
I will say this: hope she doesn't go the Lohan route.
freya seriously freya wtf rebecca black didnt sing whip my hair neither did lindsay lohan
DeleteAnd Rebecca black isn't lindsay lohan! I think freya was just comparing a few train wrecks to this song. You know, like Jenna rose. And yes I know that Jenna rose is not willow smith
DeleteClubhouse music.
ReplyDeletethis is vile. inappropriate wannabe thug aspect aside, it's like chris brown and t-pain had an auto tune baby.
ReplyDeletei wish i could take the parents, shake them, and remind them that it's ok to let 8 yr olds be 8 yr olds. not all little girls are meant to be future aguileras.
She was so funny when she met Russell Brand on Ellen's show. Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteMakes me miss the Honey Boo Boo show----i love that chick. Ellen has bad taste. Between this and trying to make Bethany Frankel happen it is just too much. Ellen and Anderson Cooper are two people that I can never understand the level of respect and admiration they receive. Overpaid and lame.
ReplyDelete46 seconds into it and I turned it off. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have kids.
ReplyDelete@rock me
ReplyDeleteI know Rebecca Black didn't sing Whip My Hair (Willow Smith).
I was comparing her to Rebecca because I see it going viral and that's it. Nothing much afterwards.
I was referring to Lohan because I am hoping she doesn't take the drug route.
Sorry if my message was misconstrued.
@car54 - thanks for age correction that she's 10. I did a quick google on her and got 8yrs old but didn't see how old the info was.
ReplyDeleteRomy and Michelle at age 10.
ReplyDeleteI agree with G, they've worn out their welcome with me. I only watch "Ellen" a handful of times, and this girl & her sister seem to be on everytime I watch that show. I just turn off the TV when I see them.
ReplyDelete@car54 ITA. Her and Rosie's Red Carpet segments are still funny and cute. I loved it when she sang for Adam Levine. Also loved the interview (I forget the celebrity) where someone was wearing Ellen "knickers".
ReplyDeleteI don't care this song/video but I still love her and Rosie to pieces.
The still image alone is enough warning "DO NOT HIT THE ARROW!"
ReplyDeleteOh media, PLEASE don't ruin this little person. This just made me terribly terribly sad.
