Paula Deen Is Going To Try Today Show Again On Wednesday
For now, Paula Deen is planning on showing up to the Today Show on Wednesday after standing them up last week. She pretty much has to show up if she has any hope they will want her back as a guest for cooking segments. As it stands now, she will not be on Food Network, is probably being dropped by QVC and also by Random House. QVC is wishy washy because they value the almighty dollar above anything else and if Paula's pots and pans continue to sell then they can ignore a little racism. Their statement said they wanted to take a wait and see attitude. Translation. - Racism is ok if you are making us money. Hopefully Paula has saved a lot of money because people are already sharing new information about her which shows that she has a long history of being racist and this is going to get even worse for her. It might get so bad that QVC even drops her.
Hey if racism helps turn a buck, its all good, right faux Enty? No sense in deleting racist posts on your site, people may get pissed about them and argue and generate click to maintain that $995/wk ad rate.
ReplyDeleteRife with hypocrisy.
Damn, now that just about says it all!
DeleteDamn, now that just about says it all!
DeletePreach it, Count!!! Faux Enty/s, faux outrage.
ReplyDeleteAmen Count!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha spot on.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to this, btw?
"In the next week, I will be deciding whether to go to a system which will involve the approval of all comments prior to being posted. I do not want to have to resort to this option, but will, and hopefully would only have to do so for a short time before returning to the system that exists now."
I notice she's receiving quite a bit of support on several social networks. Which, I can respect differing opinions. However, I'm sick of ppl making the excuse, she's from the south.....that is as racist as she is. I have MANY friends & relatives "down south" & none of them talk like that. ...they were raised better I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThe Moderation thing was just to quell the outraged rubes. Real moderation would either require hiring 3 people or kill conversation/clicks. It is as likely to happen as Jessica Biel winning an Oscar.
ReplyDeleteFaux Enty would prolly goo her panties if another troll attack happened and popped the #s again.
regarding paula, the below indicate that what she really wanted was to live in the south before the civil war. Lets hope matt asks her about them:

Indeed Enties, I too wish you all would delete the racist troll comments here.
ReplyDeletePaula: just freakin' retire already.
Not that I ever cared about this woman, but I was more bothered about her reveal she has diabetes and made a deal to make money off it, and at the same time, still selling all the things that helped give her diabetes. That, to me, is much worse than an ill chosen word. Besides, when they (the PC police) decide to go after every person who used the word "faggot", then I will be outraged at her. Until then, I can't take seriously a court of public opinion who only crucifies people for using "some" negative terms, and not others.
ReplyDeleteShe did more than use a term. Did you not hear about her hiring practices? Her brother saying "You have no civil rights here"
DeleteShe doesn't even have to say nigger at this point because her racism shows in other ways. This honestly no longer has anything to do with being PC. She's just a racist old bitch.
Right on Kels. Saying nigger isn't the issue, it is that she an her brother have created a work environment that is both racist and sexist (at this rate probably homophobic too). Can you really excuse that?
DeleteAh Count, you are so spot on. As usual. The double standards and hypocrisy are so blatant.
ReplyDeleteCount is so right. I don't like the new enties. Not at all.
ReplyDelete@Basil: You need to do some research before spouting off ingnorance. People are angry with Paula Deen not just because of a word. This woman wanted to throw a "plantation" themed wedding with black people dressed as SLAVES, she had black workers at her restaurant use separate bathrooms in the back, her brother physically assaulted some of these black workers while calling them monkeys and she did nada about it.
ReplyDelete+1 @Kels.
ReplyDeleteCount, your posts are one of the reasons I check in on CDAN and this one makes me <3 you just a little bit more!
ReplyDeleteHer face is so orange. Why do people think that makes them actually look good?
ReplyDeleteUsing the word faggot and derogatory gay slurs is wrong. I don't understand the thought that one type of bad behavior isn't offensive because another type isn't being pointed out. Bad behavior is bad behavior.
Jesus, paula, stay off today show! You screwed up, just fade away. Lauer can question her if someone then gets to question him about his infidelities and use of c word regarding women, and how he got ann curry canned. Otherwise, 2 hypocrites chewing the fat.
ReplyDeleteThank you V, and the others who voiced their agreement with my post. I may be void of taste and couth, but neither are a requirement for making sense.
ReplyDeleteI eternally like your style :-)
DeleteIt's pretty clear from Paula's deposition -- her own words, mind you -- that she romanticizes the antebellum South, thinks jokes can't hurt and accepted the wildly inappropriate work environment created by her brother.
ReplyDeleteShe does not understand -- still -- how her words, actions and tacit acceptance of inappropriate behavior are racist. These are not things she said or did fifty years ago, or twenty years ago, but as of recently.
You use the N-word, you have a pattern of treating black people like props and punchlines -- it's racist. I don't care how much love you have for your black friends.
Someone with a psych background -- is it appropriate to add "cognitive dissonance" here?
She has lived too much and known too many to be this ignorant about how she is racist. What's worse is how many people are revealing themselves to be exactly like her with their support and defense.
I'm not saying she's a bad person, or should lose her livelihood (that's between her and her employers). And I'm definitely not saying she's a good person or we should give her a pass. But she needs to really think about this, then those apologies from last week will mean something.
I would, for starters, give her a lot more credit if she talked about how she realizes now that you can't separate laughing at jokes where race is the punchline from the racism behind them. That would demonstrate some actual critical thinking on her part.
She made me cringe when she said "I can't determine what offends somebody and what doesn't" Like come on! She hasn't learned from her actions and she's blind to their impact. Sad case.
Delete@Nom. Yes. Cognitive dissonance refers to a person's discomfort when they hold 2 incongruent beliefs, emotions, views, etc.. It refers to a person's need to seek equanimity in their conflicting views (etc.) and will often lead them to alter and dismiss events, thought, actions (etc.) that cause the anxiety that accompanies the discrepant views. She has (for lack of a better term) whitewashed events so that they fit into her view of herself as not being racist. People don't do this consciously; in fact people would deny (and be perfectly sincere in that denial) that they do indeed change events to suit their belief system.
DeleteWait. Has the former manager's suit even gone to court yet??? What the fuck ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? She should sue the Food Network for firing her. On what grounds can they fire her? The problem with this story is that bits and pieces of the deposition are being reported on. Any employee can talk shit on their employer.
ReplyDeleteFood Network didn't "fire" her, they announced that they weren't renewing her contract and were canceling her show. She wasn't employed by Food Network and has no grounds to sue.
DeleteYou and the other whiners on Facebook carrying on about Food Network "stomping on Paula Deen's first amendment rights to say nigger in her own home" are missing the point. FN is a corporation with an image to maintain, and that image isn't a white woman who drops racist words and acts like everyone does it, romanticizes the Civil War, and as is being reported on Dlistd, referred to one of her black employees as a monkey.
The faux outrage at the supposed "faux enties" on a daily basis generates just as many clicks as any controversial comments. And I find it rather amusing that the person complaining about controversial responses not being deleted is the same person who delights in trying to be controversial and provocative in an effort to generate responses to themselves.
ReplyDeletePot, thy name is kettle.
She needs to go away for a while and just STFU. She was probably on her way out anyway on the Food Network. It needs more airtime for triple D, which seems to be on a continuous loop.

@Lola: I think you need to retake 3rd grade reading comprehension, Honey. I'm not complaining about controversial comments, I am complaining about RACIST comments. You wanna argue that racist comments are controversial, then you can take your sad semantic arguing and piss off. Changing my words to give your argument more credibility is as sad as a troll stopping in to shout N*gger or run a hyper sensitve race-baiting schtick.
I'll throw out the theory that 888 and just curious are the same person, possibly someone affiliated with this site, stirring the pot from opposite sides of the spectrum. It is amazing to me that the site racist and the site race baiter never actually engage one another. Seems like that would be a match made in heaven. Now I'm a kook who often reads too much into stuff, but that thought popped into my head more than once.
In conclusion, though I am always happy to amuse people, it makes me ecstatic when the situation is beyond their grasp and they are amused for the wrong reasons. Thank you.
I wish they'd have Lester or Tamron or even Al do the interview.
ReplyDeletePaula needs to lay low for a while and just let things settle down.
The comment section is only reason i click on this site everyday
ReplyDeleteIts like you guys are our own lil version of The View
Hey - I like both Count Jerkula and Lola's comments. Please let it go. I think there is too much discussion about fake enties and the implications- ad revenue, clicks ect. We all know whoever is running the site wants $$$. I just want to be entertained and feel like I'm getting a little gossip (bs or not). And NO I am not an enty plant.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I've said more than my share of stupid comments and stepped into it a few times I really like the entertainment the comments provide.
ReplyDeleteThanks Count and Lola.
You are welcome Texas Rose.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness. My third grade reading level? I am wounded.
ReplyDeleteRacial comments and their resulting uproar are inherently controversial. My little third grade female brain can grasp that a word can have more than one meaning. Racist comments are, by their very nature controversial because they arouse argument, debate and disapproval. But I guess I, along with all of the other people who understand that words are able to have have a multitude of meanings, should just piss off for having learned that little tidbit prior to, I assume, 3rd grade.
Perhaps, the two posters you mention don't engage each other because it's no fun. They don't get all up in arms about each other's views like everyone else does. Or, perhaps YOU are enty attempting to get hits by posting things that you view as titillating. Enty, is that you?
Continue to pat yourself on the back by thinking that you and your predictable comments are somewhere beyond my intellectual grasp. What I am quite capable of grasping is that when people don't like a mirror turned towards them they often react by attacking the intellect of the messenger.
dlisted called her a real life Miss Mellie..i died
ReplyDeleteGee I can't believe people are even using the n-word in the context of their posts....
ReplyDeleteI told you she was toast.
ReplyDeleteSmithfield Hams announced that they are dropping Paula's line of pork products.
ReplyDeleteShe'll be back. The public has a short memory.
Maybe she'll finally get it because there are consequences to her actions.
ReplyDeleteFuck that white nigger
ReplyDelete@Lola: I only shun mirrors when I'm naked.
ReplyDeleteI'm predictable. I called your semantic arguing and word jockeying, and you were helpless but to do exactly what I said. It may be against the law to profile in the real world, but it is just fine on the internet. Your sorry schtick was clear as a bell from a mile away.
Your intelligence is easy to attack. You are trying to twist words and put me in the same group as those that I complained about. I complained about racist comments, yet I make no racist comments, so it isn't a group I fit into.
I'm no Enty. I have a cock and know how to utilize the English language. Are you a middle aged, bitter and lonely man hater? If so, you could be Faux Enty and pissed about getting called out on your laughable hypocrisy in this post.
Your argument is shit, as are your reading comprehension skills. Unless you are just pissed that your attempt to manufacture something to hit me with blew up in your face, in which case your trolling skills are shit.
Oh, and have fun trying to play the victim. You came after me, with bullshit. I responded and you are butt hurt. If you don't want to be butthurt again, then next time come at me with a clear well thought out complaint that doesn't utilize "this" means the same as "that". A dollar says you can't do it.
I am far from butthurt. SOmeone is getting upset and resorting to attack mode, but it is not me.
ReplyDeleteI was comparing your "outrage" that racist (read: things you find offensive) comments are not being deleted when you post content that offends many people daily. When some segment of the readership (note: not me) complained about how offensive you are, you basically told them to fuck off.
If you can't see the irony in that, I'm sorry.
@Lola: Really? You see no difference between hate speech and buttcheek talk. That is AMAZING.
ReplyDelete"Basically told them to fuck off" means I told no one to "fuck off". You are once again putting words into my mouth, trying to make me look bad. It is a pathetic tactic that others have attempted while swirling the bowl.
If you think this was "attack mode" then you are wrong. This was kitty cat batting around a mouse.
Do you think it is hypocritical of Fugazi Enty to write this line of text: "Their statement said they wanted to take a wait and see attitude. Translation. - Racism is ok if you are making us money." ?
And with that, I'm done for the day since you've now made my point better than I ever could.
ReplyDeleteAnd besides, I'd hate to wake the big, scary cat and have him (metaphorically) crush this miserable, little, uneducated mouse under his intellectually superior paw.
@Lola: Drat! I was looking forward to more mealy mouthed nonsense outta you. Maybe tomorrow you can tell us how racism is the same as oranges, because they are both "things".
ReplyDeleteIt's not surprising you are off to hide. There were 2 direct questions in my last comment. Them things is like kryptonite for someone who is full of shit.
Good projecting job on the intellectually superior bit, like you don't try to talk down to people on here often.
In conclusion, Suck ma ballz.
Didnt Paula also make negative comments about the jews?
ReplyDeleteI heard an interview with Paula from a forum where she was discussing racism in the South, where she said the South is the most non-racist part of the country, that black people are "like family." Then she said "I have a young man who I'm very close to who is black as that board...." or something close to that. It's amazing how the woman puts her foot in her mouth and has no idea how completely appalling she is.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think I read a comment by her about this current scandal where she said something along the lines of "I'm a sixty year old woman. I can't help thinking that way because of how I was raised." Completely ignoring the fact that she would have young in the 60s, 70s and 80s, when most normal people had given up racism as a hobby. What a moron.
