Nigella Lawson's Husband Admits To Assault

In an effort to get back his wife, Nigella Lawson, her 70 year old husband, Charles Saatchi went to the police to discuss the vicious assault he committed against his wife and to admit he did assault her. "Although Nigella made no complaint I volunteered to go to Charing Cross (police) station and take a police caution after a discussion with my lawyer because I thought it was better than the alternative of this hanging over all of us for months." He thought it was better than people talking about it for months because they would keep showing the pictures of him choking his wife at a public place. Think about this. If you are willing to choke your wife that hard in public, what is he doing to her in private? Yeah, I bet she has been beaten, especially after the f**ker called it a playful little tiff.  Oh, a police caution means he got a warning and nothing else will happen to him.

    1. If they had stepped in, it would have been much worse for her at home. They should have dialed 911.

    2. They should have called 911 and stepped in. In that situation it just has to be stopped in process of happening and followed through with.

They could call 911, but in Britain that wouldn't get you very far.

    5. @River We quote the IT Crowd on an almost-daily basis. Love it.
I hope Nigella realises that she doesn't have to put up with this. The public reaction to what it has seen should show her that they are largely on her side and his treatment if her is not okay, despit him telling her that it is. She is in a much better position than so many abused women in that she is at least able to financially support herself without him. I hope she is able to see that she doesn't need to stay with someone who sees her as less than his equal. It can be so hard to get away from abuse, especially when you start to believe you deserve it

  3. I read another part of his statement that "he put his hands on wifes neck to make a point"- he doesnt even see how WRONG that is!

  4. No way in hell that was the first time he ever assaulted her.

  5. He's an old advertising guy. He's trying to put a spin on the story.

    Run Nigella!

  6. Actually, the other diners looked more annoyed than sympathetic, which is really sad.

  7. My list of "things I won't do" is pretty short, but choking is definitely at the top. Didn't we learn that lesson from David Carradine (too soon?)?

    1. @VIP- not too soon, that old man was a freak in the sheets. Or should I say swing?

  8. He's an odd bird at the best of times. She should get rid of his saggy old multi millionaire ass... Wait, I think I've just seen a flaw...

Trouble is, no matter what anyone else thinks as long as she accepts this behaviour he will dish it out. No matter that she's setting a terrible example to her daughter that this is OK.

  9. Nigella experienced emotional abuse and parental neglect during her affluent childhood. The woman has been through plenty and still going through it, it seems.

    1. Sounds like her childhood groomed her for an abusuve relationship.

  13. I love her, and she needs to drop his ass. I will be cooking her food and watching her shows in her honor today. Would love to know what her children think about this.

Please, for the record. Nigella Lawson is loaded and is not married to this douchebag for his money.

The irony is that every hot-blooded man sweats her, and she could have any man she wants rather than a cragly old abuser who criticizes her food. Seriously, he's gone on the record saying he barely eats her food. The fuck? Her key lime pie recipe is DIVINE.

    1. Sadly, this is classic behavior for a narcissist. They cannot abide praising another person, even by enjoying something they created. It detracts from them. My father never eats my mothers delicious cooking. Ever. They have been married 30 years.

  14. She has been abused before - guaranteed this is not the first time. If she stays with that old fart abuser, she deserves what he does to her in the future. Get out and stay out.

  15. Bet there's a pre-nup, but I bet it doesn't cover abuse

  16. If he's so brash to display this behavior in public, what in the world does do to her behind closed doors?

  17. He's a disgusting pig. The fact that he thinks it ok to grab her neck "to make a point" really says alot. He definitely has a pattern of getting physical.

  18. It was a posh restaurant and everyone was terribly, terribly put out by that unseemly display. Best to look the other way and pretend it's not happening rather than step in and actually assist someone in distress.

  20. Well Nellie, too bad for your Dad. At least mom is still at it.

Yeah this was like, "I'd better say I am sorry because my friend said I should for my image..so, hey, sorry".

    Dick!

  21. Hahahahaha@ River, I hear Moss singing it now!!

I read where some people think he continues to smoke in order to hurt her because her first husband died of throat cancer. Now, if that's even a little true, this guy is as cruel as it gets. He supposedly doesn't like that her career has eclipsed his. Good to know he has his priorities in order and knows what really matters in life.

  22. No, people should NOT step in. Call the cops, that's what they're there for. Too many times people get involved in this type of shit and the "abused" person turns on the person trying to help, and it can end in violence against the helper. No good deed goes unpunished and honestly, why would any sane person put themselves in danger to help someone who probably doesn't want help? Let the cops handle it, they're trained to deal with abusers and the dumb asses who put up with it. Mind yo business!

  23. Obviously it's different if it's a child or someone who is unable to defend themselves or leave. This woman is super rich and does not need to tolerate his crap. She CHOOSES to, and don't give me that "she had an abusive childhood" bullshit. She is rich and could have gotten years of therapy and help that normal peasants couldn't hope to afford, yet this is what she does. Kind of hard for me to feel bad for her, she's not some impoverished woman with 5 kids with nowhere to go. Some people must like to be treated like garbage.

  24. This has upset me so much. Nigella is one of my new favorites. I like her so much, and thought her so compassionate and human. The choking is horrible, but you know what upsets me just as much. What the f*** is this nose pinching or tweaking. What is that? To me it seemed like the behavior of someone that wanted to do so much more and this was just an indication. I'm very sad for her. Hope she gets out.

  25. It's a sad fact of life that many women who were abused end up going for abusers. I have seen it time and time again that they will leave one abuser and find and hook up with another. If they go out with a nice guy, they won't like him or find him boring.

That women is gorgeous, rich, and can cook. Dump the loser, get some therapy and decent men will be beating a path to her door.

Regarding her slimebag husband, as my grandfather said "Any man who puts his hands on a woman or child is no man". I agree and several men (preferably the males in her family" should beat him severely and put him in a hospital.

  26. Why do women put up with this shit?
