Nickelodeon Star Ariana Grande Says She Doesn't Have An Eating Disorder

Over the past year, it has become obvious that Nickelodeon star, Ariana Grande has lost a tremendous amount of weight. The 19 year old has never been very big to begin with, but now looks skeletal which has led many to believe she has some type of eating disorder. Ariana took to her Tumblr yesterday and says that her weight loss is because she is eating better and also working out a lot. It sounds to me like she is starving herself and working out way more than she has to. She says that she used to eat junk food 24/7 and has cut junk completely out of her life and only eats healthy. Great, that is good for her. In addition, she has amped up her workouts which means she is taking in less junk so presumably less calories so was going to lose weight that way and increased her already strenuous workouts so is going to lose even more weight.

When I read her post (which you can find here), it sounds like to me she does have an eating disorder. She says that she never looked in the mirror or at her red carpet photos until recently so she never knew how heavy she was. She did not use the word heavy. She says mortifying, but I'm assuming that is what she meant. She has never been heavy.

  1. Is this the girl from Sam and Cat that sounds like Pee Wee Herman?

  2. Enties, what is your fascination with tweeners?

  3. FSP---It's always Nickelodeon. Their pedo factory is referenced. At least one of the Entys in the history of this blog seemed to know someone there. He pretty much outed Dan Schneider. 'Enty' had stopped writing about Nick for awhile. I assumed b/c the writer changed.

  5. She has always been slim. Who is she comparing herself to, Victoria Justice?

  6. The way she talks about this signals eating disorder. The terms, the wording...it all screams ED. Mortfying? She was and still is fun sized. I will never understand how some people can look in the mirror and see something thats literally not there. I feel for her. Must be hard, esp in the spotlight.

  7. Never heard of her before. Is it well known that she exercises a lot? I notice enty commented about exercising like 3 times in the post, as if she may be working-out to death, but she only mentions it once in her blog post and it doesn't sound extreme at all. It also says she struggled with hypoglycemia. Maybe she was passing out in the mornings and someone close to her finally told her she has to quit living on doritos and pizza?

  8. I wouldn't be surprised. These girls grow up way too fast and are exposed to the dark side of fame early on. Personally, I wouldn't let my child be a child/tween star.

  10. She doesn't look REMOTELY skeletal. Enty's never seen an anorexic model. She looks like a slim teenage girl.

    1. I saw her perform on Jimmy Fallon a few days ago. I kept hearing her song on the radio but didnt know what she looked like. She looked reallllly thin, like what a 12 yr old looks like. Plus she was wearing some tea party, long poofy dress that didnt help. She didnt look like she would sing that song she looked so young. She looks healthy in the pic above (old pic I'm assuming).

  11. My little guy likes her. She's a cutie and I hope she's not bowing down to the ultra skinny that runs rampant in Hweird.

  12. The girl in the header pic looks like a normal young girl to me. Skeletal? No, but then again, I have no idea what she looked like "before"

  13. FSP, because one of the Enties is a tweener?

  14. If you read the Tumblr post, she never refers to herself as heavy or having been heavy. When she says "mortifying" it's not in reference to her weight but to what she used to wear on the red carpet. She said she never looked at herself in the mirror before going out and that means that some of the looks she wore were ridiculous in retrospect.

  15. If she needs some Thinspirational Instagrams or Twitter accts, I can post some.

Don't all 19 year old chicks come with eating disorders and body issues? That is why 21 is the youngest I'd date. At that age they can mask issues with alcohol.

  16. Of course she has an eating disorder. She's a tweener disney star, who has to compete with other young stars to stay relevant.

  17. Most females have eating disorders/food issues. When society bases your worth as a person ENTIRELY on your looks, that's what happens. It sucks but it's not going to change. In fact, I'd rather people be real about it than the current system of paying lip service to wanting "curves" and "real women" while shoving anorexic, near death women in our faces as something to aspire to. It's bullshit and extremely insulting. But hey, it sucks to be a woman and that's just the facts.

Pretending like intelligence and independence, etc are desirable qualities for women is just doing women a disservice and leading to schizophrenic, conflicting messages and making it harder and worse than it already is. Not that women can't be smart and independent but you see how women like that are portrayed, it's not good.

I'm glad I'm old but I don't have much hope for my daughters...that's why I just keep them away from media entirely. Who needs this shit? Who wants their little girls to have eating disorders and do pole dances and dress like whores? The clothes I see young girls wearing is insane! It looks like they should be on a street corner somewhere...and where are they getting this from? Our lovely media (and asshole moron parents that allow this shit). And of course the parents that allow their children to be victimized in Hollywood and trotted out as props to push the sexualization of children. You mark my words, this is a deliberate thing to paint children as "sexual beings" and legalize pedophilia. You can call me crazy and a tinfoil hat loon but you'll see. If you don't watch your children someone else will. And this is what they want, a society of sexualized, demoralized, screwed up little whores in training that are ripe for the picking.

It's EVERYWHERE, in EVERYTHING. Go and watch a movie from the early 90's and earlier and contrast the kids with kids today. It's crazy to see kids that actually dressed and acted like KIDS. Look at high school cheerleaders, or dancers or gymnasts and see how sexualized their routines are, and we wonder why there's a pedophile panic? It's disgusting and society should be ashamed of itself but they won't be, because we've forgotten what shame is.
