Johnny Depp Is Turning Into Someone Not Nice

I know tons of you love Johnny Depp, but I have to say he is turning into kind of an a-hole. Let me rephrase that. He is turning back into an a-hole. Don't forget that back in the day, especially when he was with Kate Moss he was not nice to people and treated lots of people like crap and did some really bad things. Sure, he played the tortured actor/artist thing and people loved that and thought they could fix him, but no one really ever did. Then he met Vanessa and he seemed to grow out of all that bad boy stuff and just make films. Then he became a huge star with all of the Pirates movies and I think that he finally became what we thought he never would, a pompous actor with a huge ego who doesn't care about anything but himself. In the new issue of Rolling Stone he says his breakup was unpleasant and then is kind of blase about the damage it caused his kids. “At times, certainly unpleasant, but that’s the nature of breakups, I guess, especially when there are kiddies involved." Who calls their kids kiddies?

He then went on to say, “Relationships are very difficult. Especially in the racket that I’m in because you’re constantly away or they’re away and so it’s hard. It wasn’t easy on her. It wasn’t easy on me. It wasn’t easy on the kids. So, yeah. The trajectory of that relationship — you play it out until it goes, one thing leads to another.” I guess I feel like he just doesn't really care or acts like he doesn't. I think that is pretty obvious by the way he acted during it. he kept wanting Vanessa to deny everything while he kept having sex with everyone and telling Vanessa they would work it out.

  1. I absolutely cannot stand this guy, however these comments don't seem that bad to me, it is what it is, right? The relationship is over, why cry about it.

I do agree about the kiddies part though, fucker thinks he's Jack Sparrow.

  4. I don't care what he does in his personal life. I just want to have some of his French wine. Please.

  5. He's speaking to People about his personal life. You expect him to really get into it? I'd probably gloss over it as much as possible too. Stupid sound bites don't really show what's behind the curtain. It all sounds "diplomatic" to me more than anything.

  6. This really doesn't sound terrible. After this and the Kirstie Alley post, I'm wondering if we should expect to see a Midol ad sometime soon.

  7. Johnny Depp is known as a nice guy with the fans (contrary to JGL for example) and a nice guy in general.
I don't care what he did with Kate Moss whereas Kate Moss isn't a saint and it happened 15 years ago(Kate never waited Johnny to try some drugs)

I guess Enty never knew some break-up.i knew some break-up and one was very nasty

  11. Seeing as none of us were in that relationship I don't think we really have a the first clue as to what actually went on. His comments here are pretty diplomatic and fair, not that he owes the public any sort of statement on his previous romantic relationships.

  12. I don't care about him one way or the other, but I have heard perfectly wonderful parents refer to their children as "the kiddies" - I don't have a problem with that term.

    1. I use kiddies...my parents do too...growing up neighbors and friends parents too...but we also addressed everyone adult by Mr., Mrs. Miss or Ms.some of those people I still do...maybe regional thing...

    1. @Ari- I don't know if "demanding" rings ever works. Never heard of a person demanding a ring and gettig away with it... Their ringless commitment for so log speaks volumes more than jewelry ever has.

    2. Oh yes, demanding a ring would have saved the relationship! Celebrity marriages have such a wonderful track record.

  15. I feel like with this kind of post Enty Corp is almost trolling his/its own website: making opinionated statements about a star and then just sitting back because he/it knows that it will rile his readers and produce a lot of comments. We all get played when this happens. It's a good strategy for interaction, but is kind of wearing thin.

    1. Isn't that the point of these blogs?? What else is the goal if not to stumulate discussion? Which I find to be woefully lacking. The very idea of vehement disagreement seems to be fading away. Like two bowls of oatmeal having at it!!

I say disagree and say why. Stimulates those lazy ass brain cells.

  16. I agree with some of the commenters - he doesn't owe any of us an explanation of his breakup. I for one, love him and this post doesn't change that. ;-)

  17. He and John Mayer should both hook up, which I'm fairly sure they've rubbed their smelly taints together in the past, and be locked away somewhere where they can out-douchebag theirselves...if that's even possible as they both rank pretty high on the douche scale.

  18. presidentresident---You said that beautifully. I'm tired of the posts artificially full o' bile.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What president said. I was going to comment that I've noticed Enty taking lots of things out of context. A good example is yesterdays post about the "mortifying means fat" thing with that young Nickelodeon actress.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I feel like Enty knows more to this story then what he is saying.

    1. All he/she/it has done is lifted segments from the up-coming Rolling Stone article, which you can read in full on their site.

  21. Sounds like he's turned into Brando in his later years.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agree with President as well and sorry but Vanessa never WANTED a ring. Some people don't and are perfectly happy. Marriage isn't for everyone and neither does it mean someone will be faithful.

    ReplyDelete
  23. What else was Ariana mortified by other than her appearance, which was probably mostly unacceptable to her because of being out of shape? I didn't see the context so I don't know what I missed. I did look at "before" pictures of her, and she was never fat, but I think she must've been oversensitive about the fact that she doesn't have much definition in her waist. I agree that "kiddies" sounds flippant, but he may have not meant it that way.

  24. I have never seen a Johnny Depp movie.

  25. I hope she got plenty

  26. Did he give this interview in character as Capt Jack Sparrow?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I feel that even if they were married it was only a matter of time which one would want out. Regarding JD, I never liked him and never consider him a good actor. He was weird when he became popular on 21 Jump Street.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I really don't see anything wrong in what he said. It's just a standard kind of answer - "it's difficult for everyone, we were apart, hard for the children" - what's so bad about that?

I agree that this site is going from an amusing pastime to troll-baiting click fodder. The truly nasty autoplay ads for hardcore sex sites is evidence of that.

  29. Frenchgirl, do you mean Joseph Gordon-Levitt? I've never heard that and would hate for that to be true.

  30. Johnny Depp has always been a prick, take it from a decades long Michael Hutchence fan. (They were drug buddies and neighnors in France, and their friendship f'd up Michael's relationship w INXS.) My mom is a huge Depp fan, which sheds tons of light to me on what kind if men my mom "loves." Just puke.

  31. Can't stand him and in general people who wear sunglasses and practically whisper during interviews (Depp, Janet Jackson, et. al.) are usually self-absorbed douche nozzles. Bitches, please.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't understand this hate about JD. He said lovely words about Vanessa and their kids. It seems to me that Johnny behaves respectfully towards her. And starting new relationships is nor a crime neither a midlife crisis. As every person Johnny has rights to be free, happy and in love so nobody can decry him for this.
I read the whole article in Rolling Stones and I was impressed in a very good way. I always used to consider Johnny as a deep, charismatic and interesting person but he was super adorable in this interview. He told witty and clever things. And, yes, I still believe that he is the hottest guy and the most talented actor of his generation.
P.S. English isn't my first language so maybe I just don't understand your point clearly but what is wrong with the word "kiddies"?

You can't disagree with anyone around here. You'll be call a stupid fucking whore who deserves to live in a cave with rabid wolves.

Oh, don't get me wrong. SOME of the big-timers can say what they want. Flaunt it among us little people. But us littles best stay in our place, or they'll put us back in it for sure. Because that's what we deserve, us bastards!

The two-faced approach to it all is hilarious.

  34. I don't know about his marriage, but I do remember reading how he would spend time at his daughter's bedside when she was badly ill - this was during the filming of Sweeney Todd, I think. He has been known to pop into children's hospital rooms in full Jack Sparrow costume to cheer them up, so he can't be all bad.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am appalled! I have never heard such disrespectful misogynistic trash!!!

    Jk!

*Today's Johnny Depp post brought to you by emo shark week Enty*

    ReplyDelete
  36. There are plenty of stories about Johnny being a nice guy. I remember he made a substantial donation the hospital that treated his daughter. I see nothing wrong with his statement here.

As for using Vanessa, they lived together, had children together, and she got a huge settlement. So, it didn't work out. It lasted longer than most HOllywood marriages. I don't call that using.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @caralw Great Ormand Street Hospital - the one represented by GOSH and the baby face during the Olympic opening ceremony, he supported them a lot which I'll always respect, along with being in Fear and Loathing.

I just find it a bit cynical that he said nothing while there was a fair bit of bad press about Vanessa during their break up, but then decides to open up now he's got a vaguely controversial film coming out.

  38. Why is everyone in an uproar? Dipp didn't say anything! His comments were generic and bland sound bites throughout the interview because that's all that Dipp does. He's been doing that since his 21 Jump Street days when he got engaged to each girl he dated, but would never give straight answers about that. Geez, "relationships are hard." Really Johnny? Since you hit 50 and a product of a split home, how would you have done things differently with your "kiddies"? That question never got asked. Here's another great question for Dipp, that wasn't asked, "Johnny, I've noticed you have a habit of only dating women under 30, do you feel sense of entitlement to do that?"

Of course he comes off as a "good guy" because he knows how to play the game.

Why not ask Joaquin Phoenix what he thinks of Dipp? Now that would be an interview I would pay to read.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh you can be a prick and still do "nice things" like visit hospitals, but that doesn't mean you're a great romantic partner or don't have substance abuse issues.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm ok with him in movies when writers are telling him what to say, and directors are telling him how to say it. Otherwise, he comes off all..weird, and stuck on himself.

At least the idiot didn't talk about the paps raping him this time. I'll track him down put my foot in his ass if he says that BS again.

  41. Enty for crying out loud, depp didnt say shit wrong, that journalist should be lucky he even mentioned his kids. Wonder what depp did to piss off enty
