Blind Item #5

This A list mostly movie actress did gender selection for her new baby because her significant other insisted on it. He has also already chosen the name of the baby and has plans to have an agreement in place to get full custody of the baby if something happens between the couple causing a split.

    lol at MISCH. My close friend works in amniocentisis (sp?) clinic. Selective reductions, gender selection, done all the time, and that's just regular people,not movie stars. They just had their 2 oldest mothers who got pregnant naturally, 55 and 57 years old! Amnio done to check health of babies.

    Doesn't IVF require hormones? Doesn't it cause all kinds of swelling & stress? Halle hasn't to my knowledge looked anything but spectacular over the last 18 months. Amazing she could hide this. Dunno...

      IVF does require hormones, but it isn't a months long thing. You do them for basically one menstrual cycle, have the eggs removed and fertilized and put back in. If it takes, you continue using progesterone until the end of the first trimester. If it doesn't work, you generally skip the next month and start again the month after that.

      Whether or not you look swollen or not, from the hormones, probably varies from woman to woman.

      What does swell up is your ovaries. They go from the size of grape to the size of a very sensitive and swollen orange. AND THEY HURT LIKE A MOTHER FUCK!

    Gotta be donor eggs with Halle, given her age. Purchased eggs are an even bigger taboo than plain old IVF. And while it's considered unethical within the medical profession to select IVF embryos based on sex, there is no law against it in the USA (assuming that's where Halle got it done). Fertility industry is the wild wild West.

    If this is Halle, I'm genuinely stunned that she'd actually let the man in her life dictate such a personal issue, even to surrendering all custody. And Olivier was pretty much a forgotten has been when she met him, so I just can't see her doing that. But underneath it all, I believe she truly is crazy, so..

    Ugh, for someone who gives of feminist leanings, Halle Berry is anything but. She has to have a man in her life and she seems like she defers to whomever that man is all the time. She never seems like she has any power in any of her messed up relationships.

    If my SO was that adamant about having a boy, I'd tell him to adopt one on his own. Eff you buddy, I'm the one carrying and birthing this kid. Gender selection is flat out unethical and wrong. Considering men are the ones that determine gender, the hypocrisy makes my head hurt.

    Well, then. I thought with all the fertility issues that Halle had, she may have fozen her embryos years ago with Aubrey. I suspected that the custody of the frozen embryos was the basis for the ass kicking last year.

    I could be wrong, maybe she had her eggs frozen. But the success rate with frozen eggs is pretty low.

    I'm sure that there is a clause in their agreement that will prevent him from getting custody. or, Halle will lie, provoke an ass whooping and then pay him off to get rid of him.

    Not saying Halle or Jlo are honest but hubs and I are pregnant with twins naturally, and I'm 35. I've since learned its more common as we get older (especially among African American women). Basically our bodies can start kicking out eggs because they are about to "expire." Imagine our surprise!

    Sounds like Halle. Poor little boy with two crazy parents. Nahla has Gabriel Aubrey so she has a much better chance of growing up fairly normal. It's going to be harder for her little brother. I can see why Oliver would insist on custody seeing the way Halle has done her best to try and get rid of Nahlas's father.

    As far as I know (a friend is a family law attorney), custody agreements PRIOR to the birth of the child are unenforceable in most states. I don't know about France.
