Voice Of Elmo Nominated For Emmy Award
Despite being accused by several men of having sex with them when they were underage, Kevin Clash aka the voice of Elmo has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy. The nominations announced yesterday have Kevin Clash up against three other people in the category of performer in a children's series. Clash has won 23 previous Emmy Awards. That is like one for every teen he had sex with. The show will be aired live on June 16. I don't know if the voters just don't read the tabloids or they just don't care, but this is something the Academy should be really embarrassed about.
But who will he bring as his date?
ReplyDeleteGood question. His usuals wouldn't be able to stay out that late because of curfew.
DeleteWho's the betch that let that happen?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but they obviously need to betch slapped.
DeleteA whole lot of unproven claims, many of which end up being dropped, and you being a "lawyer" have assumed guilt before fully seeing all the evidence? That's disgruntling a little.
ReplyDeleteWell damn ain't that a betch.
ReplyDelete@lotta Lol stop trying to make betch happen. I had to jump on that bandwagon.
ReplyDelete@skimpy- I want my pink shirt back!
DeleteOn Wednesdays we wear pink
DeleteThey should have nominated Alison Brie's interpretation of Elmo instead
ReplyDeleteThe Daytime Emmys nominated Guy's Family Reunion for an award too. They're not exactly a mark of quality.
ReplyDeleteCreepy and mega awkward if he wins.
ReplyDeleteIt's a puppet, not a priest so it's alright.
ReplyDeleteWhat is Betch, lotta? lol
ReplyDeletedragon, Lotta prefers to be called a betch instead of bitch or beach. Because she's a picky betch.
Deletegot it Ethorne.
DeleteAre the Daytime Emmys the only non-biased award voting system? I feel like all of them, especially the Oscars, skew it to nominate who they want, deserving or not. I'm surprised they would include him even though he has not been found guilty yet. Maybe they don't stuff the ballot box so to speak.
ReplyDeleteJust because he may or may not be a completely disgusting sob doesn't mean he doesn't perform that stupid voice well. I mean, it's an Emmy, not a humanitarian award....
ReplyDeleteYou can win awards for talking in an annoying voice while talking down to children? I'm surprised my 8th grade English teacher doesn't have a closet full of Emmy's by now.
ReplyDeleteAnd the awards goes to Dickle me El.. I mean Tickle me Elmo.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to be like the only person standing over here in the corner saying Michael Jackson was innocent, but doesn't he just stand accused right now?
ReplyDeleteYeah these are accusations and if I recall they are civil suits not criminal correct? I'm sure someone will correct me, which is good. I seriously think these were shakedowns on Kevin.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm repeating what others have said here, but "claims" are a far cry from proven acts or convictions. As a rule, I will give a child the benefit of the doubt if they make an abuse claim, but these were ADULT MEN who made these claims after they turned 18 & these claims magically disappeared when money changed hands. If the abuse really happened & they dropped their claims for $$ then they too are culpable for continuing abuse & shame on them!
ReplyDeleteOnly in Hollywood would a pedo be nomo'ed
ReplyDeleteI've got no issue with this. His nomination is based solely on his work. How many Oscar winners are completely vile human beings? Exactly.
ReplyDeleteSo say some priest was really good at being a priest but was a pedo you're fine with recognizing his priestly good works? Yeah, didn't think so. Big glaring double standards are so difficult to see.
ReplyDeleteIt's perplexing to me why Hollywood rewards criminals (alleged or proven). I mean I know that pretty much describes most people in that industry but in Australia people lose their jobs over convictions and get suspended from their jobs pending convictions. So Elmo the Pedo is nominated for an Emmy, Chris Brown the Wife-Beater wins Grammys, Roman Polanski the Raper is nominated for Oscars. It's disgusting.
ReplyDeleteWell probably not everyone in Australia loses their jobs over unsociable behaviour but certainly in the Public Service where I work and lots of other places.
ReplyDeleteTyger Lilly,
ReplyDeleteIn California, the statute of limitations for bringing claims of child sex abuse has been repeatedly changed in recognition of the contention that sex abuse victims often don't talk about it at the time, to anyone, and don't want to admit it even later. People have til age 26 to make a claim now in California. It's probably similar in other states. Now if you're bringing a child sex abuse claim in your 30s, 40s and 50s, and you can under certain circums, I'd say that definitely goes to the weight of the claim. Not so much if they're still in the 20s. Also, same question: if it was accusations against a priest by men in their 20s, would you be so forgiving? Be honest. No, you would not.
