Selena Gomez's Mom Is Pregnant Again

After suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage back in 2011, Selena Gomez has not really talked about her mom  trying to get pregnant again. She had been so upfront and so excited about the pregnancy that year and I think she wanted to be really sure before she ever said anything again or got too excited. Yesterday, on Mother's Day, Selena Tweeted a photo of herself and what appears to be her very pregnant mother Mandy.

  7. She's lucky she favors her mom. If you favor your father instead and your father's never around, people ask all kinds of nasty personal questions. I've had strangers come up to me and my mom and outright accuse me of being adopted because I got my father's Middle Eastern/Southern European looks instead of my mom's redheaded Irish looks. I get so envious of daughters who look like their mothers.

    1. Ugh! Having to explain different parent/child last names in elementary school is bad too. I hated doing it and always overshared hehe

    2. I look like my dad too. My mom is gorgeous, with naturally tanned skin, exotic looking features, German-Russian and I look like my big Norwegian Viking dad. Which is fine if I'm a male, but I'm not. Tall, big nose, round face, non-exotic looking. I feel like a tree. My boyfriend actually looks more like my mom than I do, and looks more like he is related to my sisters than I am, I just realized...whatever, I guess it could be worse.

Im still terrified of getting pregnant again after suffering a stillbirth last year. Stories like this give me hope and encouragement.

    1. @S.Joy, I'm so sorry for your loss. I just gave birth to my daughter a week ago; those last few weeks are always so nerve wracking for me. I can't begin to imagine what you must have been through. Best of luck and positive energy for you.

  11. @scratchy it doesn't always work that way! My daughter has brown hair and dark-brown eyes, just like her daddy and me. She's adopted. Our son, made exclusively by us LOL, has blonde hair and blue-grey eyes. Thank god he's got hubby's big head and general facial features, cuz we got a lot of looks when he was a baby...

My friend's daughter has red hair and freckles. Her mom is white and her dad is black.

  16. Since most of the comments already posted here are positive, I'll play devil's advocate. Why would a woman with a twenty-something-year-old daughter even be thinking about having another child?

    1. Robert - My aunt was 17 when she had her first child. She then got married and had another one a few years later, same guy. They had very little money, being two 20-year-olds with two young kids. They had to scrimp and only buy the necessities, so it was hardly the dream life a person wants for their kids. After they got thir degrees and careers established, my aunt had another baby when she was 34. I think she did it because it was like a "do over" for them raising children.

  18. Congratulations to them :D

I am a mix of my parents and their family members. my skin tone is in the middle of theirs, I look like my dad, but it's softened by my mom's cheekbones, so I only look like a man when I'm bloated in the face...which is all the time. There is no mistaking that my brother and I are my parents. My other brother, however, looks like my mom's dad.

  19. I think it's great that she was able to get pregnant again after a miscarriage. They both look beautiful (although Selena is looking a bit too skinny. It could just be the angle, though. I am hoping it's not because the Bieb's verbal abuse is hitting home.)

Robert - did you factor that perhaps having a baby at 16 isn't exactly your dream pregnancy? How active do you think the 16 year old father was? Coming from someone who got pregnant at 16 and is now 36 with a 19 year old daughter and currently 3 months along, I can tell you exactly why a woman would want a baby now. Because who I was 20 years ago is not who I am now. Now I have an education, a wonderful husband who has no children and is dying for one of his own. I have a beautiful home filled with love and laughter and there's nothing more I want than to have the " normal " experience of having a baby with a loving partner, in a secure surrounding. Raising a beautiful, bright and successful child as a single mother while the whole world believes you're bound for failure is by no means easy. Nor is it easy when people judge you ( not saying you are, but I get it a lot ) for having a baby when you have a 19 year old. But no ones really judgy if you have a baby at 36, since so many women are doing it now. I guess what it boils down to is personal choice , and not giving a shit what other people think. If I did, perhaps I wouldn't be as successful as I am now.

  22. S. Joy - a former work colleague of mine lost her baby hours after giving birth. That was about 5 years ago. She now has a beautiful one year old. You'll know when you're ready to try again.

  24. Am I the only one that thinks Selena would be incredibly HOT while pregnant?

I don't think Selena's stepdad has any bio kids. I could be wrong about that, though. In any case, having a baby at 36 isn't big news these days. I agree, she probably would like to raise a child without the turmoil that she dealt with regarding Selena's upbringing. To have the experience of having a baby under the best circumstances. Nothing wrong with that. They seem happy for their new arrival!

  27. @Robert - I was 17 when my younger brother was born. Now he's 13. Selena is a millionaire so the new child is set for life. What's wrong with that?

    @Jenn - SNAP! LoL.

  28. Sure does hammer home how young Selena Gomez really is, when her mom is in her 30's and having another kid.

Talking about looking like your family... my family are typical Finnish people, blonde and blue-eyed. I looked like the Italian or Spanish exchange student. The only time anyone ever noticed resemblance between my sister and me was when I shot her (with a camera, LOL.) She looked like me in the photos.

  29. Good for her mom, but I hope somebody pointed out to her that just because an older child is a cash cow (Lindsay), no amount of stage-mom antics can make any subsequent child a star (Ali).
