Random Photos Part Four
Eva Longoria gets the top spot. Yeah, I know, but she got a Master's Degree and it was not honorary.
Carey Mulligan in Sydney.
Christina Milian out and about.
Catherine Zeta Jones behind the wheel after a school run.
David Beckham enjoying one of his final practices.
Yeah, I think they are going to try and make a Grease remake with these two too.
Andrew Garfield and Tom Sturridge have a guy's day. Walk Andrew's dog.
George Clooney dances the night away in Germany.
Who are "those two" in the Grease remake?
ReplyDeleteWell Kelli is from A.I. and a prime example of you can take the girl outta the trailer park but.. And Derek is a Mormon with serious gay face and his sister is Seacrest's former "gf".. Basically people that once dwts is over, so will be their 15mins..

ReplyDeleteI think the Grease remake is Kellie Pickler and her DWTS partner.
ReplyDeleteIs that Spidey's partner? I'd expect him to have better taste in men.
Why is Becks still practicing? Isn't his career over?
I don't think Tom Sturridge is guy. He knocked up Sienna Miller.
DeletePoor Busy, I remember those last few weeks. It was like Tweedle Dee walking around.
ReplyDeleteSorry---George looks like a swanky older gentleman you meet on vacation, who charms at the bar for hours, then eventually tries to talk you into anal.
ReplyDeleteJust spat my afternoon mocha on my phone- thanks for the funny
DeleteGood for Eva! I know not many like her here, but I always have.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan, but i appauld people continuing in school. And she worked for it! I wish i could afford to finish!
DeleteNo matter how much weight Christina milian lost after her lippo she still has the lumpy lippo marks. I'm surprised she hasn't corrected it.
ReplyDeleteDerek Hough is no Danny Zuko!
ReplyDeleteBut isn't every day a "guy's day" for Mr. Garfield? You know, because he's gay. And no I'm not gay bashing here, it's just that the efforts that some of these Hollywood boys go to to conceal their sexual proclivity makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteNot for nothing but Busy looks like a slob. COMPLETELY EXCUSED DUE TO PREGNANCY!!!!! But lets not pretend she looks good.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else question celebrities that get degrees from fancy colleges? Like, is it your fame and money that got you that degree or were you capable of spending enough time studying and earning good grades?
ReplyDeleteCalifornia State University @ Northridge is not a fancy college. My niece saw Ms. Longoria on campus several times, but didn't know she was working on her Masters. I think she did all the work to get her Masters in Chicano Studies.
DeleteI know CSUN is not a fancy college. I grew up in the valley so I was not referring to this college specifically. I was talking in general because most celebrities get degrees from Brown, Harvard, Columbia, and other fancy colleges
DeleteOh my. George.
ReplyDeletechristina looks horrible
ReplyDeleteshe tries too hard
I think Eva actually earned her degree- she is not stupid. I have heard her speak on a few talk shows and she knows her stuff.
ReplyDeleteDoing a masters is pretty flexible anyway for one, and there is a lot of down time working on a TV show and now the show is over and her career isn't overflowing with other acting projects beyond commercials
Pickler
ReplyDeleteMilian
Zeta-Jones
If Longoria wasn't so annoying, she would slot in at #2.
Catherine Zeta-Jones should be #1! She's a super hottie!
Delete@melthelibrarian
ReplyDeleteEva earned her degree from Cal State Northridge. It's a public vs. private college.
I think Eva is awesome for valuing her education. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteRe. Grease remake: NO!
ReplyDeleteBut she is in her 30's so that fits with the origi-didge.
George looks like Dennis Farina
ReplyDeleteGuess I'll have to think a little better of Eva Longoria for having gotten a non-honorary master's. That's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeletehaha Libby! That is a pretty specific scenario!
ReplyDeleteI don't know who's who, Tom/Andrew, but it goes to show that a spray tan isn't always a bad thing.
I hope when Becks finally retires we get a break from him. He's overrated in both the talent & looks department imo. Well at least he won't get a talk show or a slew of speaking engagements, so there's that.
Dude, props to Eva Longoria for getting her masters on. She's my age or a year older and the thought of studying, exams, papers and homework at this stage ..... Eek. I'm getting hives. She looks so genuinely happy in the pic. Awesome top photo!
ReplyDeleteI always like the gals you all hate - JJ, Heigl and Eva.
Clooney looks like such a tool. Could this be the end of his hotness?! Shudder..
She got her Masters in Chicano Studies. Oooh, I bet that was tough, you know like as tough as a Women's Studies Masters. Come on, it's not like she got an MBA or even a JD. And you don't think the profs there gave her leeway due to the publicity the university will get for her earning the degree?
ReplyDeleteAnd she's smart because she sounded it on talk shows? You mean the ones where they give you the questions in advance and you and your people plot out the answers? Or was it because she agreed with you politically in her answers?
Hello Sunshine!
DeleteYou're disgusting! I find people like you who undermine other people's academic achievements or entire academic disciplines pathetic attempts to mask your own short comings or insecurities. Go Eva! I can care less if your degree's in Botany, Slovic Literature, or Pottery- the fact that you're improving yourself and earning your degree is admirable. :)
DeleteMy two sons were discussing the basketball merits of Tony Parker earlier this week... one wondered what ladies saw in him, the younger one said "well he must be good looking, his wife's the hottest girl on TV." (he's obviously not up to date with his celeb news)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Eva - great work on the Masters!
Kids are so kewt. Adorable.
DeleteLongoria's degree is 100% BS.
ReplyDeleteA Masters in Chicano Studies?
So you memorize the name of Cesar Chavez & listen to George Lopez jokes?
If she wasn't already a successful actress, all that degree qualifies you for are the following:
1. Teaching Chicano Studies.
2. Asking people if they would like fries with their order!
Damn that double edge 1st amendment sword!
DeleteAnother ignorant idiot. Chicano Studies majors go on to Medical School, Law School, Non-profit work, etc. No one would question a Jewish Studies degree, right? How about Sociology? Anthropology? History? Of course not, yet they're all academic disciplines that study people, cultures, policies, and our past. And no, I'm not a Chicano Studies major, just someone who is sick of bigoted, elitist, arrogant people diminishing other's accomplishments in an effort to keep others down.
DeleteIve never liked her that much ( for stupid reasons), but good for Eva longoria!!!! That is a huge accomplishment and I was really surprised to hear it. Makes me think a lot more highly of her.
ReplyDeleteWhoa that's a little harsh. There's more to Chicano studies than Cesar or George or working fast food. Would you say African American studies only include Harry Belafonte and Chris Rock?
ReplyDeleteMy brother in law minored in something similar to Chicano Studies and is a civil rights lawyer. "Would you like fries with your order?" is not a question he asks his clients.
ReplyDeleteGood for him! Although I think the name of the discipline is a little dated, the discipline itself is as worthy as the next one.
Delete@Elsa, it wasn't called Chicano Studies, but along the lines of studying Latino issues with regard to judiciary issues. It was a minor; his major was criminal justice before law school. It would akin to someone who plans to be an environmental lawyer pursuing a minor in environmental issues while pursuing a major in criminal justice.
DeleteMaster of Arts Program in Chicano Studies: http://www.csun.edu/~hfchs006/CHS-ma-program.html
ReplyDeleteEva's thesis was on "Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers."
Not a bad topic. Not underwater basketweaving. How many STEM careerists here?
Also, I can't picture George Clooney dancing.
ReplyDeleteI can picture Dennis Farina dancing. I bet he's a better dancer than George.
I'm glad she got that Masters in Chicano Studies. It will compliment her Bachelors in Fag-Haggery quite nicely.
ReplyDeleteYuck, George Clooney. It's time to give it up-a message, perhaps, that you could relay to your fellow older, Madonna.
ReplyDeleteAnytime anyone furthers their education, it's a win. People who sneer at that are only exposing themselves as morons.
Tom Sturridge makes my skin crawl. I don't know why, but he just grosses me out!
Elder, not older.
ReplyDeleteLooney reminds me of Barry from Storage Wars.
ReplyDeleteFreudian slip - Clooney.
ReplyDeleteBoth comments cracked me up -- too true
DeleteIm not liking some of the racial overtones in some comments about Eva! Lets just congratulate her and move on. Fuckers!
ReplyDeleteWow I can't believe the hate because someone furthered their education! I'm not a big fan but good for her.
ReplyDeletewhat did you get your degrees in? how to be racist cunts on a blog site?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go out on a limb and guess that one doesn't have an advanced degree.
DeleteA Master's is a Master's, honey
ReplyDeleteI know! It's work, i don't get whyy some people hate on actresses foro being airheads and still hate on others for triyng to be better.
DeleteUmmmm, not even close. I'm guessing you don't have a masters, JD or even undergraduate degree.
DeleteLibby - I literally LOL'd at your George Clooney comment!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Eva! I heard her on several political talk shows and she is great.
ReplyDeleteI can picture Dennis Farina dancing with me!
Becca Parker, YOU ARE A PIECE OF HUMAN GARBAGE.
ReplyDeleteShe also did a thesis...many masters degrees don't require a thesis, so I'm rather impressed.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing when any Hollywood person gets a degree. It allows them to focus on something besides the superficiality of Hollywood. That's why I think Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez should get some kind of education--so they could have a view beyond their self-centered worlds.
ReplyDeleteAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete:,-(
George Clooney looks just Taylor Hicks there.
(drowns in tears)
Writing about STEM careerists does not equal being one. Any idiot can write a paper about any subject - doesn't make one intelligent. And yes, I have an advanced STEM degree.
ReplyDeleteAnd the brother-in-law with the minor in Chicano Studies? He is successful because he majored in something that has a career path. Chicano studies may come in handy dealing with clients, but it certainly wouldn't have gotten him that career. While a bit harsh, the reality of what was said about majoring in Chicano Studies (or any race/gender studies) is true. That doesn't prepare you for a career. That prepares you to be a barista at Starbucks. And one who has a 5 figure student loan debt load to boot.
And what the eff is it to you what someone else majors in? Stop being a bitter elitist and snob and focus on your own degree. And for the record, work ethic, drive, and people skills are what makes one have a successful career, not a piece of paper.
Delete@nightowl,
DeleteI'll let him know your views on his career path. His major was criminal justice, not celeb gossip blog snarking.
Your level of ignorance is the reason he has a job.
That and his level of intellect > your level of positing.
DeleteSo silly! Eva won't be working in fast food or coffee. She has a career, duh. The fact that she's already successful makes it even more commendable that she earned her masters in a subject that is meaningful to her. She certainly didn't have to and she certainly doesn't have huge student loans. These negative comments are baseless and bitter!
DeleteWow. So disappointed in the education bashing. I have a masters and the work that went into it was no BS. The job anyone gets after ANY Masters is like anything else- it depends on what you put onto it. From what little I know of Eva, I think she is deeply involved in charity and encouraging minority owned businesses. I had no idea she was furthering her education, but kudos to her for being more than the empty shells we read about here daily.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteGeorge Clooney's glasses are fab -- Taylor Hicks should try them!
Love the idea of Latina girls being encouraged to enter STEM fields. Applaud Eva on her degree. But Night Owl is correct in that it's hardly a career path, although it may be the academic basis for other careers. I have an art history degree, which I loved and which informs my world view every day. But I am not a professional art historian.
ReplyDeleteIn case some of the irate people posting here weren't aware, just thought I would let you know - this is an ENTERTAINMENT GOSSIP BLOG. It does not pretend to be a legitimate news source and most of the commenters do not do so to engage in true political or social debate. Like me, many other commenters do so as an escape from the horrors of actual news events of the day.
ReplyDeleteIf you wish to engage in a real thought-provoking debate about these issues, there are plenty of other platforms for this type of exchange. On this site, many comments are meant as tongue-in-cheek and do not actually encompass the comenter's full views. This is why most people use pseudonyms on this site. When you insult someone based on a single comment you are viewed by many as a bully.
In other news, Amanda Bynes was arrested for drug possession and throwing drugs out the window. I'm really glad that she was arrested (especially in NYC and not LA). Perhaps she will finally get the help she needs!!!
ReplyDeleteSlightly racist there, Becca.
ReplyDeleteGood for Longoria! Seriously, good for her. But can she get a job IN THIS ECONOMY? is the question....
ReplyDeleteI think I figured out why Carey Mulligan's face bugs. She looks like Buster Keaton or the skinny guy from Stan & Ollie. A silent film face when her make-up is too pale and minimal. Now I can rest.
ReplyDeleteGeorge is over. Racism sucks. Eva is weird but at least she is trying.
That is all. Enjoy your weekend. Skagit River bridge collapse means my trip to Portland might be a bit of a trek. The fact that I drove over it the night before scared me but a truck driving with an oversized load was the cause. Still bad news. Thankful no one died.
Life is short. Play nice. Love!
