Everyone saying Kanye isn't talented is completely wrong. Kanye is VERY talented. It's just that his asshole ways overshadow that talent. Watch Jay-Z's documentary, "Fade to Black." There is a scene in which viewers get to see Kanye making beats from scratch and coming up with amzing 16-bar raps in just ten minutes. He makes all of his own beats, writes all of his own songs and some for other critically acclaimed artist ie. Jay-Z. Don't get me wrong, Ye is an idiot and he leaves much to be desired after his downfall into assholedom (spurned by the tragic death of his mother), but you cannot say he isn't talented. And you definitely can't say his music is shit...He is arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time, don't forget that.

Before that he just made good music, was dating his high school sweetheart, and stayed out of the media. But I think gettig involved with KK was a major mistake. Any respect he had is almost gone.
