Jesse Eisenberg Is Not A Nice Guy

Unless you are prepared to kiss the butt of Jesse Eisenberg and tel him he is the greatest actor ever, he is probably not going to be a very good interview for you. Exceptions to this policy are any late night host who makes more money than Jesse and have way more viewers than have ever seen Jesse's movies.

  1. Who is this turdburglar?

  2. Oh no. I liked him as Zuck on The Social Network.

  3. Another instance of people just completely misunderstanding socially awkward people. Jesse isn't mean or anything; the person interviewing him really just doesn't have the same sense of humor that Jesse does and it shows. There's nothing wrong with that and it's not Jesse nor the interviewers fault.

Carry on with the jerk calling though.

    2. @Kels, I watched this a couple of days ago and thought the same thing.

    3. Yeah, that is just a couple of people trying to banter and stepping on each others lines. I think they were both being funny just the timing was off.

  4. I thought he had zero charisma in The Social Network and the movie suffered for it. Guess that I won't be able to interview him LOL

    1. Lol....I think his lack of charisma is what made him so perfect as Zuckerberg!

  6. eh, i don't think he's necessarily an ass; i think he was trying to be funny and for all we know, they might have planned it out beforehand to get hits for her.

I still think he's a better Michael Cera than Michael Cera is.

  7. I'm with Kels. He has a very different sense of humor and not everyone gets it. I like him and thought the interview was funny.

  8. I don't think HE'S terrible, I think SHE'S terrible. She's used to playing dumb and getting by on being cute and he wasn't putting up with her shtick. Seriously, you write questions on your hand and then she's giving him attitude when he calls her out on it? Make some effort, sister.

  9. @Kels I agree. I could imagine having fun interviewing him.

  10. @ marna and @ Kels - exactly! I think she is the problem.

  11. I thought the stone-cold mean vibe I got from this guy in The Social Network was Acting. Maybe not.

  12. I'm sorry, I found it funny. He was hilarious.

  13. It's just frustrating that people are attacking this perfectly fine actor because he has a quirky sense of humor and someone doesn't get it. So instead of a headline that says 'Jesse Eisenberg's Awkward Interview' the headline is 'Jesse is Not a Nice Guy'. Idk if it's because I am socially awkward myself but I just hate seeing articles like this. It reminds me of how I've seen people treat autistic children.
Dont mind my ranting!!! Im reaching a bit and gettin off topic but Lol its just a pet peeve of mine.

  14. I don't see how this makes him a jerk. It looks like he's joking around. Not everyone does the big wide goofball wink and a smile when poking fun at someone. I always do the flat sarcasm.

This may be why I don't have many friends...

  15. Okay so after a long list of proxies (I'm on my work computer) I was able to watch the interview. Enty, Jesse wasn't an ass. But you were for calling him that. He has a quirky sense of humor. And yay, I still love him.

  16. Worst interviewer ever.

If she was.acting professionally, instead of trying to flirt her way through the interview, I would agree. But she was so obnoxious. She sounds like she's on a date, not an interview. I would be sarcastic too.

Did she really - "Say my name like we just broke up?" Was this an interview for a high school newspaper? Really childish. Yikes!

  17. Thé interviewer is one of the worst i saw

  18. That guy on SNL is the best Michael Cera.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Who gave her a TV show? Jesus. I'm surprised she knows her own name.

  20. I could totally hangout with him, her not so much...lmao

  21. Actors hate press junkets, and she started off on the wrong foot calling Morgan Freeman, "Freeman" she is a tad young to be that disrespectful to an award winning actor.

It just went downhill from there. They were trying to be clever battling wits, but Jesse just danced around her. She seems the type that is used having her ass kissed just for being hot. I liked he didn't give in to her nonsense.

  22. She is a TERRIBLE interviewer. I don't really think this is his fault.

I don't think this is on him, either. I saw JE in his play The Revisionist recently, and I was struck by what an amazing actor and writer he is. I was still having epiphanies about the symbolism and meaning in the car on the way home the next day. After that, I'm a fan for life. I think he was annoyed because this interviewer is a ditz.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So, he's not nice in Enty's world because he had to sit brought this absolutely awful interview and is socially awkward in real life? That's stupid logic.

Like anyone, he's actually a nice guy, but if you put him with a stupid person his tolerance is low.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What a silly woman! I can't call her interviewer. She's totally unprofessional. I think he's a good actor and a good person.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In interviews we expect these 'celebs' to be who we want them to be (in our dreams). The reality is they are real people doing their job. Their job just happens to be VERY publicly displayed. The interview was fine, considering both personalities and how different they are. He may come across like a jerk, but he may also be thinking 'who is this chick and why did she just disrespect Morgan Freeman like that?'. Granted, it could have all been for show so her name/video gets out there for people to see.
I'm sure some people think I'm a jerk. Or my husband. That's OK. To each his own.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I also thought he was funny, not mean!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wish Enty would make all of the videos he posts available to people outside the US. A lot of the time I click play at the message "The uploader has not made this video available in your country" appears. Boo :(

  29. She may have written the notes on her hand due to nervousness. And how exactly was she trying to flirt her way through the interview? I like how his being an ass is laughed off as him having a snarky sense of humor but her being informal is deemed flirty and stupid. His snide comments are what made the interview awful. He and I share the same sense of humor but I turn it down when I meet people for the first time because not everyone gets it. He just went full blast on someone he doesn't even know. Making him an ass.

Hahahahah, I thought that interview was pretty funny! ANd kudos to him for calling her out on "Freeman" and lying about her card.

  31. WTF, Enty?! Eisenberg is a HERO for this interview. SO obvious this chick skates on her looks & dumbass flirty act WAY too often. Good for him to try and make her be a pro.

  32. I thought this was funny, actually. And I agree with libby's sentiment there. Kudos to Jesse for this.

  33. Jesse is awesome and that girl is an embarrassing fool.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah, I'm team Jesse on this one. He wasn't being an ass at all, she was insufferable. I actually give him kudos for not getting up and walking out on her, she was downright rude a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That girl is an ass...typical young entertainment reporter who thinks her short skirt and hipster glasses make up for her total lack of interviewing skills...she's trying to prove to him how cool she is instead of just doing her job...kudos to Jesse for calling her out on her bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  36. She was horrible but he's a PROFESSIONAL who gets paid millions to make movies (such a hard job!) and is contractually obligated to do these press junkets. He should have just gritted his teeth and played stony faced and not been an ass about it. I'm so sorry that you have to do 50 of these to promote your movie Jessee, waaahhhh, that must be so horrible!

Here's a thought, Jesse: ACT like you're having a good time!

  37. I am not a Jessie fan but I thought she was not a good interviewer. I totally give him props for giving her shit. Plus JE is gay and he would NEVAH call out her name.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I heard from a random guy who met him in a bar while he was doing his play that he's actually really nice and hung out with his fans all night. That's all I got.

  40. Maybe Enty(ies) knows more about Eisenberg personally and knows he's a shit. Basing it off this interview is a reach. Girl seems like a wannabe actor/celebrity, but this (interviewing celebs) was as close as she could get (I.E. she tries to make herself the star of the interview by injecting herself into it. Very unprofessional).

    ReplyDelete
  41. I thought this was funny! Maybe they planned it?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Count me in for Team Jesse! He just didn't dumb himself down for her.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wow. These comments. No, she may not have been the most professional interviewer, but he came off as incredibly pretentious and impolite. Never was a fan of his and seeing this interview I wouldn't want to hang out with him. Seems totally high on himself.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Michael Cera changed his name. Hmm.

    ReplyDelete
  45. *He* was impolite?? What about the time she ruined his card trick? You know, the one she begged him to perform? And then she didn't even know which card was hers? She's either an idiot for not knowing which card was hers or she's a bitch for completely blowing the entire thing. Did you watch the whole clip? Because I'm seeing a very immature reporter who is completely not ready to be on air, trying to fit in with the "cool" celebs by using inappropriate nicknames, asking inane questions and favors ("Say my name like you just broke up with me." W.T.F.), feigning intimacy, and then when her pièce de résistance came with her having the deck of cards and asking for the card trick, she ruined the whole thing.

I don't think Jesse was rude or impolite or impatient at all. To me, all he did was give the interviewer enough rope to hang herself.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm so tired of these bimbos getting high profile jobs. She was lazy and unprofessional as hell. But She probably banged someone for that job.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Actually the interviewer (at least I think they're one and the same) TRASHED him in an article on one of the major news network web pages for being a colossal dick during the interview. Ill have to find the link bc it was a riot.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Didn't watch the vid. Do recall a year or so a fan who politely approached this guy for an autograph and Jesse basically was a rude ass. Enty, Gawker picked up the story. There were many posts then in defence of this idiot. I betcha had this of been Goop, Rihanna, Kristen Stewart or any number of famous women who was outright rude and dismissive to some fan, I doubt there would be as much support.

  49. I know this is old- but I am catching up on stuff I missed and I just wanted to throw in that I know Jesse personally, and he is VERY, very nice and polite- on set he refuses to be treated as someone 'special'- for instance, on a movie we worked on, they didn't want him to get a sunburn and offered to have a PA hold an umbrella for him. He politely declined and said 'It's fine, we'll just go sit under that tree.' He is really very nice- socially awkward, but a great guy whose company I enjoy.
