Danny Brown Gets Oral Sex On Stage During Performance
On April 26th, rapper Danny Brown was on stage in Minneapolis when a woman came on stage, got down on her knees, and started performing oral sex on the rapper. Danny's co-headliner on the tour, Kitty Pryde says she felt it was sexual assault because Danny had not asked for it and she says Danny didn't want it. Was there not security during this show? When the woman started pulling down his pants, he couldn't have stopped? Kitty says that because this was a woman assaulting a man that people are treating it differently. I guess I just don't understand why he couldn't have just done something about it before she did start servicing him? He never tried to push her away and claimed on a since deleted Twitter post that he never even missed a note. If you are joking about it, was it assault? He deleted the Tweet and then linked to the Kitty Pryde post and comments.
Well he's no Ridickulous.
ReplyDeleteEwww.
ReplyDeletethe t shirt mirrors my feeling about him and this perfectly
ReplyDeleteShe wasn't holding him down or being forceful, though. I know guys can and do get raped and assaulted. I don't understand why he didn't push her off. He just let her do it.
ReplyDeleteDid he say "no" into the microphone, so -- oh, say hundreds -- of people could hear him?
ReplyDeleteWere his pants already at mid-thigh? If so, he was clearly asking for it.
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteWhat a slutty betch.
ReplyDeleteLoooooooottttttttaaa! U tho funnay.
DeleteLol yeah, thats pretty accurate Danny Brown behavior. You go, boy!
ReplyDelete1) Who?
ReplyDelete2) Ewwww
3) WTF
All he had to do was step back 2 steps. J dont see this as assault in the sense he easily cld hv gotten away. Of course perp is a daffy nut, but thats the public, lol
ReplyDeleteSounds like Kitty's a little jealous
ReplyDeleteAbout a month ago he was on the Kathy Griffin Show and he openly talked about it. He was laughing and joking about it! What an idiot
ReplyDeleteMen do get raped and sexually assaulted, but for this guy to claim that what happened to him was assault is a slap in the face to all the REAL victims out there.
ReplyDeleteNotice how quiet Amber is being on this one. Hmmmmmm...
ReplyDeleteIt is kind of funny how in this country when it comes to sex men are always blamed. He did not ask for it and if he pushed her away he probably would be blamed for that too.
ReplyDeleteIf a guy tried that on Lady Gaga I bet people would be trashing the guy and not her, regardless of how she handled it. Is it possible that he did not know how to handle it? I know; he is a guy, worse a black guy, rapper, which means he is always wrong somehow.
Invasion of personal space, oh yeah.
ReplyDeleteAssault? Only technically, in that the physical advance was not sought or requested.
Rape? That's a tough one, and again, if it is, it's only under the auspices of the law itself, in that any time someone forces themselves sexually on another person, that's rape (IMHO)
VERY interesting seeing the comments on a rape accusation with reversed genders.
ReplyDeleteYeah this is bull. I've been following the story for a week or so, since one of the attendees posted in a Reddit hip hop forum I frequent. There is a picture of him with his hand on her head, and a video showing him standing there for a good 20 seconds before walking away and tucking his dick back in. He also got a handjob at a show last year and bragged about it.
ReplyDeleteKitty Pryde (had to Google her) is a 20 year old girl who happens to be his best friend and is "writing a book about the rap industry" since she is SO well-versed from her one year of "rapping." His songs talk about doing trashy shit like this and having wild sex with random girls, so calling this rape belittles every legitimate claim a man makes against a woman or vice versa.
All he had to do was step back. Instead he retweeted a ton of fans saying they wish they were that girl and he tweeted Kendrick Lamar (a popular artist) halfway gloating.
Hmmmm, Madonna said she has rape fantasies. In her "Sex" book, she is depicted in an Catholic schoolgirl outfit being ripped off by 2 skin heads.
DeleteMadonna also said in an 90's interview with Spin magazine that she was raped prior to her career.
Does her rape fantasies belittle her claim of being raped.....after all this Madonna.
Jesus, Amber!
ReplyDeleteThat's a guy?
ReplyDeleteNot one of the comments above me would have been made on this post if the genders of all concerned been reversed.
ReplyDeleteHad a guy leaped from the audience, pulled down Kitty's pants, and started licking her womanparts, and Danny later publicly decried this as sexual assault, which one of you would be here arguing?
The next time any of you congratulates yourself on how you're not sexist, or how you oppose rape culture, think about that fact.
All she wld hv had to do is walk away too. The attacker was breaking the law, assault, no doubt about it.
DeleteWait until Katy Perry sees what I have planned the next time her tour rolls through town.
ReplyDeleteIt's assault if he says it is.
ReplyDeleteIt's simple: Don't foist yourself on someone unless they give their consent - verbal is best. If you're not sure, STOP.
I saw the video the guy performed as if he didn't even notice. But he has a point this is a double standard that needs to be addressed.

ReplyDeleteIf this happened, if she bragged about it in a public tweet, retweeted messages about it from male fans who say they wished it had been them... then abruptly changed her tune when the man she had been touring with defined what happen as assault, you had better believe I would be equally skeptical.
(I mean, one can only assume Danny Brown has changed his tune by deleting the tweet and pointing instead to Kitty Pryde's post--has he made any public statements himself, in his own words? Curious to know.)
ReplyDeletelol @ Lucas and disco. It was def her!
ReplyDeleteDid he consent or not?
ReplyDeleteBravado after the fact is not really persuasive one way or the other. He had his cock out in front of everyone so he would kind of have to laugh that off.
And the sexualized atmosphere of a concert is not consent. It's an atmosphere. Think if roles were reversed; just because a woman is singing a sexy song is not consent to run up on stage and bang her.
Either there was consent or not. That's the rule and it should apply equally to men and women.
Why do I get the feeling that this was planned before the show? If not, where was security?
ReplyDeleteI agree with this kitty person-- this isn't cool. No matter how sexual a person's stage persona is, they're never "asking for it". That gives no one the right to jump up on stage and assault them.
ReplyDeleteObvious shenanigans. As Enty noted, there's security at every show protecting the performers. They won't let anyone get close to the talent unless the performer lets them know it's okay. There's no way this woman had the time to get on stage, get to him, get on her knees, unzip his pants, reach in, pull it out, and go to town unless Danny had waved off his security during the process. They'd have had her off him and off the stage almost as fast as if he'd backed away himself.
ReplyDeleteI mean, think about it. Who hasn't been at a show where a crazed fan leapt the stage and charged the performer, only to have security or roadies instantly running onstage, grabbing the fan, and throwing him or her off the stage?
So, even if he argued that he didn't react for a while because he was taken aback (yeah, right), his security would've been on her.
Maybe security didn't realise they should step in because it was a guy being raped. I think this double standard is really harmful to men.
ReplyDeleteI get the feeling that since Kitty has a future and she wasn't impressed, Danny isn't impressed either.
ReplyDeleteCan't let the meal ticket take her coattails elsewhere.
He was probably shocked and couldn't make a rational decision at the time.
ReplyDeleteSorry, no matter what gender the victim is, NO ONE should grab someone in a sexual manner without obtaining some form of consent.
There have been plenty of instances of women not giving consent, but not reporting it as an assault because what's the point.
To the best of our knowledge, he didn't stage it, he didn't invite the chick on stage, he didn't whip it out for her. Shock maybe prevented him from stopping it from happening. He now regrets that neither he nor anyone else stopped it.
People need to behave themselves, for Christ's sake!
Disgusting.

ReplyDeleteJanet has joked about having her crotch grabbed. In concert, Janet would bring a guy from the audience onstage to perform a bump n' grind. Some guy became over zealous and had to be restrained by security.
DeleteThe comments would be just the same if it were a woman and she didn't pull back immediately. That's what makes sexual assault charges so hard to prove. If there isn't video of the victim screaming "no" and fighting to get away, there's gonna be doubt in someone's mind.
ReplyDeleteNot true. A lotta people believe a man can't be raped.
DeleteMen who are raped in prison or JD for that matter get little sympathy ,after all they're criminals.
Is this any different than the former Tenn Titan teenager who followed the 12 year old boy to the bathroom to perform oral sex on him because she was drunk????
ReplyDeleteCan we use the same rationale for a woman? Why didn't she just stop him from raping her. Assault is assault. 2013 and if shit's really equal then call it what it is.
ReplyDeleteHe told this story on Kathy Griffin's cancelled 2nd season of her talk show. She asked what was the craziest thing that's happened to you. He said a woman came up to him in stage and gave him a blow. I don't remember what Kathy or ASAP Rocky (as a guest as well) said after that. I THOUGHT I remembered this story told before! He obviously wanted to re-enact it so I'm guessing he didn't mind it happening a sec time.
