Blind Items Revealed

November 29, 2012

This actress was almost A list way back in the day. In the not too distant past she was on a show for multiple seasons. A great show. A huge hit cable show. Everyone will always love her for one very important role with an A++ list actor. Anyway, she has not been doing much the last couple of years that would make her swamped with offers from fans, but at a restaurant the other day several fans approached her while she was waiting for a car to pick her up. They all wanted to say hi or have their photo taken with her and the first few just got a curt, "No." After that though she started getting increasingly angry that people were bothering her and at one pointed shouted, "I'm way too busy to be talking to you right now. Get a life." She then continued doing nothing and just waiting for a car which eventually arrived.

  2. She ruined Big, I've always felt. So many wonderful actresses, why did Penny Marshall choose her?

  3. I will say, I've seen her around LA a few times, and she's always been lovely. I've never hounded her for a photo, though.

  4. Maybe she was having a bad day.

  5. I thought she did a good job in 'Big'. She had just the right amount of Job Confidence/relationship insecurity and exasperation in general to pull it off. That said, maybe she wanted an "invisible day" and these people ruined it. Still, she should have sucked it up and been polite.

  6. never would have guessed her

    1. Ditto what misch said. Must have been having off day.
Ot alert! I remember a friend if mine and her hubby went to visit his children in LA. They were at a resturant, and he saw michael richards, at height of seinfeld fame. He asked the waiter if that was he, and waiter said," dint even think about going up to him. He's nasty beyond belief to everyone. No one goes near him." Interesting.

  7. One bad day in todays world and you are branded for life. I don't have much sympathy for celebs except when I hear something like this. On the other hand maybe she's an ungrateful bitch.

  8. She's on Downton Abbey right?

  15. This gives me a huge case of the sads. I've loved her for a long time, and she was heartbreaking in one of my favorite movies, The Doctor. :(

  16. Celia Hodes told someone bugging her to f* off.

She's quite funny on the midseason show "How to Live with Your Parents" - not Celia good, but still funny.

    1. This might be a lame question - but is your screen name from the song that was used for weeds?

Yeah, she always acted like a mega bitch way too easily.

  19. I believe she is on a sitcom on ABC now.

I love her movies and she was fantastic in Weeds. Hope this was an isolated incident or a bad day for her.

I live in LA and Michael Richards IS a well known horror. I dealt with him him when I worked in a bookstore and it was just ridiculous. He wanted me to look in EVERY SINGLE book we had on Italy for one tiny thing. Luckily my boss was great so I showed him where the books were and said, "Here you go, Sir. I hope you find what you are looking for." He was just awful. It is always interesting when you run into these celebs and you see them interact with the public. I have seen so many people who were so horrible and many very nice. Patty Duke, Henry Winkler for example. NICEST people in the world. I saw
Ginnifer Goodwinn in a super high end bath store where I was shopping and I swear the woman does not smile. She was just terrible to the man with her and all the people who work there.

  21. I like Big, but when I put actual thought into the storyline which involves a woman sleeping with a technically 12 year old boy and then looks at him at the end like "awww you're really just a little boy", instead of completely hyperventilating. Had it been a man with a 12 year old girl, it would have been an issue.

  23. She's an alright actress. She was in some good films though.

Always thought she had a bitch face. And I agree with the person who said she ruined "Big".

  26. Thanks for sharing, readercomelately. I can see Patty and Henry being kind. In fact, I've read that a few times about the Fonz. Cool! :-)

  27. Wait, this is about the actress who played Wilma in The Flintstones, right? lol

Ooooh!Interesting about Ginnifer, yet sad. Thanks for the info!!

  29. I dealt twice with Michael Richards with zero drama. He was very shy/maybe OCDish? Hard to say, but he was fine with me.

  30. I was at an event once and Henry Winkler as there with his son - who is a spitting image of him - both VERY nice. I also came into contact with Stay Kiebler (about 5 years ago) and she was SUPER nice and down to earth - very accommodating to a friend that asked for a pic - granted she wasn't very known back then - but she seemed genuinely sweet.
I'm giving E. Perkins a hall pass - we all have bad days - I'm that's all this was. But its true - how annoying would it be to always be hounded whenever you go out?

  31. Henry Winkler is nice. I met him at the Festival of Books at UCLA one year. We were both promoting our books; I think his was a memoir, but I can't remember. He kept asking me for directions to his panel. He couldn't keep the panels straight.

  32. @violet,

I've met the Fonz before and he was quite lovely.

I forget why I removed my earlier comment, but yes, my nickname is after the song on Weeds. :)

I give LizzyP a pass, too, because I a member of the b* face club (but I'm rather nice in person), and if paps were in my face constantly, my b* face would probably become b* attitude! Plus, I love her forever for Celia Hodes and she's funny as the mom on "How To Live With Your Parents."

  33. She's lucky anyone even knew who she was. I wouldn't know her if she was standing right in front of me.

  34. She was great as Celia in Weeds.

    JoElla,
It was canceled already? That stinks. I liked that show, although I thought the parents were the best part of it.

  35. Long live Celia Hodes!

So apparently it wasn't a stretch for her to play a mega bitch and now we know why Weeds didn't want her back for their finale. But I don't care she could be bitchy to me any day... Love Celia!
