Andrew Garfield Is Pretty Cool
So, you are Andrew Garfield and you have a few minutes in between shots on the movie Spiderman. You are in costume. There is a playground. Why not join the kids and play some basketball.

That's good people right there.
ReplyDeleteDear Emma Stone, he's a keeper.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!!! U know those kids were going crazy for that! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore him.
ReplyDeleteThis is freaking adorable. Good on him for making their year, probably.
ReplyDeleteIn semi-related news: Someone named Peter Parker called my office a couple days ago and it made me giggle.
We have a new employee named Bob Hoskins!
DeleteI'm waiting for the idiots to start saying this was a publicity stunt.
ReplyDeleteIMHO this was as cool as what Emma Watson did that Halloween.
This is great. Although, not as lovely as Helen Mirren staying in character as the Queen to fulfill a dying boy's last wish.
ReplyDeleteGood vibes.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how to get the links to work - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2327323/Helen-Mirren-knights-dying-year-old-boy-actress-fulfills-wish-dress-Queen-come-round-tea.html
ReplyDeleteThat's great Amber.
ReplyDeleteI had a Betsy Ross call me last year and my boss (notorious for forgetting names) would ask when he was supposed to meet:
-The war of 1812 lady
-flag maker
and
-The one with the name, you know. Something historical.
He could remember all of that but couldn't remember her name.
This makes me like that guy. Those kids will have a story to tell for the rest of their lives (and you just know he locked in Spiderman fans for life. They will see every movie in that franchise and probably go and buy the toys, too)
Win-win all around.
I'm impressed he knows some basketball moves. Do they even play basketball in the UK? That would be like me playing cricket with some English kids. "Now what am I supposed to do with this fraternity pledge paddle?"
ReplyDeleteI've always liked Andrew, he seems like a genuinely good person...
ReplyDelete@Cindy, can you please share what you mean by what Emma did that Halloween?
ReplyDeleteMy crush on Andrew Garfield jumped about 500% after this video. Plays bball much better than I would expect for a brit.
ReplyDeleteI knew I loved him when he and Jesse Eisenberg quietly dissed Timberlake all through The Social Network press tour. Hee. He rules. He's British, but he plays b-ball with little kids! In Spidey costume!
ReplyDeleteWhat a mensch.
lazyday - r u trying to prove that jokes about Americans being stupid are somewhat true?!
ReplyDeleteBasketball is an international sport, just like volleyball or soccer - they have it all over the world, there are leagues in each country and a whole bunch of NBA players comes from over there... please!
Well this was on TMZ several days and they were saying it was probably his stunt double. The mask never came off.
ReplyDeletepositivity!
ReplyDeletei love it
@librariantobe - I believe it was a blind on here around last Halloween that Emma Watson stopped to talk to a little boy dressed as Harry Potter going trick or treating in NYC. He had no clue who she was. I don't recall what she supposedly said, but it was something enchanting.
ReplyDeleteSomething a long the lines of she was Hermoine Granger and Harry was her best friend. She took a bunch of photos too.
DeleteWhoever this was, he clearly made a whole bunch of kids very happy, and that's the important part.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about Helen Mirren before, but there's an adorable picture out there taken during the Avengers of Tom Hiddleston, in full Loki drag, with a little boy in a Captain America shirt on his shoulders; I think they even let the kid hold the shield. Very sweet picture, and it definitely made me a fan of Tom's for life.
Now THIS is something very Spidey-esque! What a sweet thing to do!
ReplyDeleteThat is TOO cool. This little kids will remember that & it will be a fun memory for them forever :)
