I have kind of a phobia about sloths actually. The long nails, the crazily slooowwww ssppppeeeeeddddddd theyyyyy moooooovvve...... but have gotten less freaked out by cute pics and videos of them, they do have cute faces. I also think it's not so much a nice friendly animal hug but more like your stalker being able to cling to you and tap your head and face with crazy long nails. The cat doesn't look happy. It looks freaked out and uncomfortable. I know, I'm a cat emotion expert. Kidding. This also goes to show that almost every species and person loves kitties.
Yes how does one come by a sloth? My friend saw one come down from a tree (in central America) for it's weekly poop. The guide said that was quite the treat as it's not common to see.
I have slowly become a fan of sloths but this video is kind of creepy. The way the sloth moves It's head looks like It's obsessed with the cat and taking in every scent it can from the cat.
Yeah, I'm a little freaked out and think it's kind of cute at the same time. Mainly, the large claws make me nervous. Nonetheless, as long as neither animals are harmed in any way and the sloth has a tree to climb, I'm alright with this.
I can't decide if I'm on the aww, cute or freaky!! train either. My cat will let you pick him and scratch his ears and act like you're doing him a favor so escape is his number one priority (he's purring the whole time and butting his face into your hand for MORE) but the sloth is all Glenn Close "I'm not going to be ignored, kitteh!!"
Sloths are NOT meant to be pets! All of the cute sloth videos on the interwebs come from the sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica, where they are cared for by professionals and visiting volunteers.
What's the deal here? It's like having a stalker with you.
ReplyDeleteHugs it?? It is scratching it behind the ears just like humans do! Amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between this is freaking me out...and this is absolutely adorable. I think the sloth has a crush on kitty.
ReplyDeleteI'm dying over this!! I think they are so cute, KristeN Bell would be inconsolable if she watched this video.
ReplyDeleteThat's the first thing I thought of! How cute she looked when almost started hyperventilating when the sloth was coming to her birthday party.
DeleteI love sloths.
ReplyDeleteHow does someone have a sloth? Do you buy them at stores? This is darling!

ReplyDeleteThat song compliments the video perfectly.
ReplyDeleteFeeling violated after watching this
ReplyDeleteHe's grooming the kitty.
ReplyDeleteThat cat is the loungest kitteh ever...my cats would be like, "um...no."
(My guess is the kitty probably raised the sloth at a rescue center.)

ReplyDeleteThe only information I could find was that the sloth's mother was killed by hunters, that's why it's in captivity.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I agree, it's cool but really stalker/creepy!
ReplyDelete@Laura That was also my first thought. LOL
Yeah, I'm not sure if I think that was creepy or cute...
ReplyDeleteRape sloth LOL
