Natalie Wood Saw Robert Wagner & Christopher Walken Having Sex Just Before She Died
Long lost documents from the Natalie Wood death investigation have been recovered by The Enquirer. Part of the documents include notes from a log of lifeguards that was submitted to police as a part of the searching for the body of Natalie Wood. The log states in part that detectives were working on a theory that Natalie Wood had walked in on Robert Wagner and Chirstopher Walken having sex just prior to the death of Natalie Wood. It is not that I don't believe the story, but I'm not sure how that would lead to the argument and death. If Wagner and Walken were having sex on the boat, chances are they had sex before and Natalie probably would have known about it. Would her discovering them be enough to cause an argument and get her tossed overboard?
I came across this interesting Wiki page. It's about an actor named Robert La Tourneaux:
ReplyDelete"He also gave an interview to a gay magazine naming his famous married closeted bisexual lovers, alleging one of them to have been Academy award-winning actor Christopher Walken. He also accused Walken of having an affair with another married actor, Robert Wagner, on the night of actress Natalie Wood's (Wagner's wife) unexplained death. In 1983, La Tourneaux was arrested for assault after trying to extract money from a client and incarcerated at the Rikers Island prison While in prison, La Torneaux attempted suicide."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_La_Tourneaux
Who knows if it's the truth, but it's an interesting read.
Over 20 years ago, I was friendly with Georgianne Walken's assistant. He told me this story back then.
DeleteI mean the Wagner/Walken/Wood story, not the La Tourneaux story. Sorry, Sherry!
DeleteIt says this is only a police THEORY.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time believing this is true.
Gee, I much prefer the sleeping pill and she got out of bed theory was totally groggy and off she went...
ReplyDeleteOriginally they said Natalie and Chris were having an affair...sounds like a bunch of bull...
Erm... What?
ReplyDeleteThat's the difference between Natalie Wood and me. If I had walked in on them having sex, I would have stayed and watched; she decided to go for a swim (too soon?)
ReplyDelete@VIP or joined.
DeleteLol exactly ladies!
DeleteI thought Walken was supposedly sleeping?
ReplyDeleteSo Walken had more than just that watch up his butt.
ReplyDelete@FSP - AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
DeleteGive me fucking break. The Enquirer is one of the trashiest of trash mags. Also, this was a theory, probably one of many, police made as a possible motive for her mysterious death. It was never stated as a fact. Assholes need to stop trying to make money off of her death. They are beating this topic like a dead horse.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it.
ReplyDeleteI could TOTALLY see this happening. I've thought Walken was well known to be closeted. Wagner? Hadn't heard. But it certainly makes more sense than she had taken a sleeping pill and just walked over the edge of a boat and disappeared. If she'd walked in on Walken and Wagner, perhaps she may have started a scene, saying how could you? how could you again? you said you wouldn't anymore, etc. Then Wagner's frustration and anger at the world at having to be closeted may have exploded and caused him to get pushy, angry, out of control, murderous, even more likely if she had threatened to out them/him. Would lend support to the idea that he shoved her and didn't want to help her since she was threatening both of their careers/lives/etc. this makes way more sense than she was drowsy and stumbled then never heard from again. Care to interject Ironman?
ReplyDeleteNow THAT seems plausible to me. I never thought she just fell. I've always suspected CW of bring closeted. Tragic but are they REALLY going to try him/them for her murder? I think not.
DeleteI'm reposting this for anyone who didn't see it the first time. I stared at this for a very long time lol
ReplyDeleteYoung Christopher Walken Looks Exactly Like Scarlett Johansson
@Lotta - thanks for ruining Scarlett for me.
Delete@FSP, lol sorry! Think of Walken as the father she got her looks from. Is that worse? Ok I'll stop talking now
DeleteOh my god, IT'S TRUE!
DeleteUncanny!
DeleteThe enquirer often is ahead of the curve on later proved to be true celebrity gossip. Kim K pregnancy scam anyone?
ReplyDeleteAmazing theories keep coming to light 30 years later. She's dead. Time for her and her memory to rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteOh please. This is ridiculous. The police speculate as much as we do, doesn't make it the truth.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we'll ever know. Cause her death was certainly NOT an accident or suicide.
I also can't see Walken involved at all. Sure maybe sex, but don't think he played a part in her death, that's all on Wagner.
This is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Unknown. I would be livid if I was a family member, seeing all of this on newstands every other week.
ReplyDeleteScandalous! I like it.
ReplyDeleteNatalie had married the guy twice. I am sure she knew all there was to know about him.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that she would have been shocked or upset if that had happened.
I am with dragon, I would have joined in.
The subject keeps coming up because the supposed explanation of her falling overboard, and no none noticing or hearing any cries for help just seem absolutely implausible. Something else must have happened or been at play than what was already found. Secrets have a way of coming out.
ReplyDeleteFunny how i said this same thing about their gay afair last time enty put something like this out and i was chewed out by some ppl on here. Now look what has come to light i told yall :)
DeleteThe first thing I thought when I read this was it was exactly what someone had posted on here.
DeleteMaybe she wanted to joined and they were like Fuck out her. This is a sword fight we dont need no shield. They push her by accident think she could swim. They learn the hard way.
ReplyDeleteit's only another police theory
ReplyDeleteI don't believe it.
ReplyDeleteAgree with doubters. This theory is just plain silly. We dont know whst hsppened, so one can bend the facts to support any story u can think of.
ReplyDeletedragon,
ReplyDelete1. That does not happen in that situation. Trust me.
2. They were not outside. It was Thanksgiving weekend, it was cold.
Anna,
It is harder to believe that she was outside at all.
Natalie left R.J. the first time they were married cuz she caught him in a gay tryst. I can see her flipping out about this and trying to leave the boat.
ReplyDeleteActually there were gay rumors about RJ for YEARS - they only quieted down a little when he married Natalie. Don't know about Walken, though.
ReplyDeleteReally Enty, I wish you wouldn't use the most sensationalistic headlines possible for theories and rumors as if it's Gospel.
ReplyDeleteThis is a police theory and speculation. Nothing more to it has been shown.
I wouldn't discount this suspicion entirely; sure she married RW twice and therefore knew him intimately. But, suppose she did discover the two men inflagrant delecto- and had a hissy meltdown. Maybe RW tried to calm her, talked her into have another drink or two, said honey, we will work it out, we always do. Then, sometime later, perhaps Walken did her some harm, maybe after RW was snoring contentedly after having sexing time with Walken. Maybe Walken didn't want Natalie to have dirt on him, or could be Walken wanted RW all to himself. Don't think the truth will ever be known on this one, unless there is a deathbed confession by one of them.
ReplyDeleteLotta: whoa. Never would've thunk it...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think so. It just doesn't wash. RW is known for having a temper and they are having a fight about something and then she goes overboard. If they were together for so long (and even got got back together after a break-up), I think she would have a clue about his preferences and would have known why Walken was invited on the boat and been okay with it.
ReplyDeleteThat tells me the argument was about something else, and most angry guys are controlling guys, so maybe RW was angry about something he thought Natalie did/said. That makes more sense to me. Especially the pushing overboard as punishment and not expecting her to drown as I think the one captain guy said. Totally fits.
Why must everyone be a closeted homosexual? It's really sad that's the go-to rumor and its sad how many people want to believe it.
ReplyDeleteI really hope that he did not in any way cause her death. The man not only raised their child, but her child with another man. I enjoy reading blinds and even named gossip, but I try to keep in mind that these are mainly just unsubstantiated rumors. Since when is the National Enquirer a 100% accurate source, and when you're talking about murder and something which is still as potentially damaging (sadly) as closeted bisexuality maybe 100% accuracy should be what everyone looks for?
Yeah, sometimes things turn out true but how much of that is due to a buckshot approach?
I don't recall ever seeing bisexual rumors regarding RJ before, although I haven't been kicking around, much less reading since oh, about 1950. Celebrities make gobs of money, but it seems once they die or get old enough, they are accused of the most heinous and often unbelievable things.
And I've ALWAYS heard that their marriage broke up the first time because of her affair with Warren Beatty.
ReplyDeleteI think she was fucked up and took a tumble. I think RW heard a commotion and thought it was just her falling down drunk being a drama queen. He did not realize how serious it was. I think Walken was fucking NW at some point during the movie, but that on that night he was passed the fuck out having been out done by the W's. Shit happens when you party nekkid.
ReplyDelete@Flora I was joking lol
ReplyDeleteLizzie,
ReplyDeleteFor the record I do not believe that police theory is correct. I am just putting it out there that Natalie knew all about RJ and had been working in Hollywood since she was a child. That scenario would not have caused her to jump into the ocean. Willingly or not, especially in November.
So the actual headline should be, "Someone Has a Theory That Natalie Wood Saw Robert Wagner & Christopher Walken Having Sex Before She Died."
ReplyDeleteBecause that's all this is, a theory. FFS.
oh himmmm how i miss you so, please return even for an hello.
ReplyDeleteI've heard this theory before. It's not a new one. Don't know if I believe it though. The whole thing is fascinating and so sad.
ReplyDeleteThe 1st time Wood & Wagner divorced it was because she caught him in bed with a man. So I could see Wagner doing this. No idea about Walken. But if that's what they had in mind why did they bring Natalie along? Not many hiding places to get busy on a small boat.
ReplyDeleteI believe it, and I believe she got pissed and Wagner threw her off the boat
ReplyDeleteJust imagine if this if you can:
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time - like in the days of Elvis and Sinatra, poodle skirts and black and white television - there was a dashing young actor, very handsome, with a bright future. He emerged from the crowd due to his agent (a man) who had high hopes for him. This agent represented a certain type of young male actor. They were all young, handsome, suave men with style who drove the girls wild. The agent was very powerful and could make an aspiring actor’s future burn white hot. But they had to be willing to not only please the agent, but the agent’s pals (who also include studio execs, producers, directors, etc.).
The agent was gay (a barely secret type of secret in those days), but even in post-war Hollywood that wasn’t a scandal. The scandal lay within the agent’s predatory, abusive manner. He would throw parties and require the young actors to perform - no matter if they wanted to or not. Of course they could always walk away or refuse - and watch their careers vanish. If you were a hot young man, and wanted to be a star, the fastest way was to have this agent to rep you. And no matter if you were gay or straight - if this agent repped you, you were going to have to do certain acts at the agent’s request. It was so well known in Hollywood that everyone knew instantly that if this specific agent repped you - you were gay, or at least bisexual. Even if you were totally straight everyone knew you’d still play to get paid by doing things for the agent, directors, producers, etc.
So this dashing young actor found himself as one of the agent’s favorites. Whether the actor enjoyed it or not, he certainly never refused an arrangement. And as a result, his career really began to blossom into teen idol status. Deep inside, however, he began to drink heavily and developed quite a hot temper.
In those days the studios always worked overtime to create and protect a star’s image. Guys like Tab Hunter and Raymond Burr who were really gay, were expected to follow the image of teen idol, and date pretty young female stars. One of the more popular beards was a stunning girl who had grown up from child star to teen star, and despite her true rebel streak, she was blossoming into America’s Sweetheart. The Studio Machine loved her too, and used her to beard for many closeted actors. Truthfully, the found the company of gay men refreshing and would have many gay friends through her life.
So the sweetheart actress and the dashing young actor find themselves dating. They also genuinely fell in love. And with the blessing of the powerful Hollywood machine, they got married. Even the gay power agent blessed the union, which was natural since the agent also repped a few females and was always charmed by the young actress. But business is business, and the agent reminded the dashing actor that if he wanted a career to continue, he’d continue to do what the agent asked. This was an agreement the young wife never knew. In fact, although she assumed her dashing hubby might have had to perform gay favors (due to being repped by that agent), she never asked for a confession or details. She never asked, and he certainly wasn’t going to tell.
Things were great for a while, and both the sweet young actress wife and her dashing young hubby had great careers. Until one day when the actress was supposed to be filming out of town. She came home early, and literally walked in on her stud hubby in an act with a popular male director. It wasn’t really that the hubby was in a gay act (as the actress had also many openly gay friends). It was the fact that he was cheating on her. In their own home. But since it was a gay affair, she could not share her grief without destroying the hubby’s career. So she bit her lip and left him. Breaking up and divorcing him. He was so ashamed, and scared of being exposed that he never contested it. But his career would survive thanks to the power agent. But deep in her heart she never stopped loving him.
(continued)
PART TWO:
ReplyDeleteBoth the actor and the actress moved on, personally and professionally, both having other marriages and kids. And many years later they would reunite. He apologized and explained everything to her (which made sense since she knew about the agent and his pals and she herself knew the agent very well). She believed him when he said he was not gay, or bi, and was only doing it for work. She accepted that he was just doing it for his career, and forgave him. So they wound up getting married again. They said it was better the second time around.
The still dashing hubby and the always stunning wife were both mature in their careers. He soon became one of the most popular TV actors in the biz. Although her career had dimmed, she found love in her family, kids, and producing her hubby’s show with him. Yes, a little known fact is she owned part of that show, helped get it on the air, and with her clout and charm she helped get the network and power-players to green light it and keep it on the air. She helped convince the show’s creator to cast her hubby, and she also suggested one of her close gal pals for the co-star. Meanwhile, the hubby and the show became very popular, and very lucrative.
The hubby had developed a pretty serious drinking habit, which coupled with the lovely wife’s own pill habit (from her psychiatrists) would lead to volatile arguments. When they were both sober and with the kids, they were sweet and loving. With the hubby’s television success, the wife now decided to revive her career. She was thrilled at the fact that the executives and power players in Hollywood all still loved her, and many had grown up adoring her.
One holiday, the actress wife invited her young male co-star to vacation with her and her husband. Hubby didn’t mind, as he admired the young actor’s method and found him exciting. The young actor saw the older actor as still dashing and as a mentor. The three enjoyed a vacation which quickly spun out of control with a river of booze, pills, and suppressed issues bubbling to the surface.
After the actress had way too many intoxicants, combined with her jealousy of the time the two men were spending together, the actress walked in on something. Whether the two men were actually engaged in an act, or just pretending to be, was unclear. What was clear was that the wife was enraged, recalling the betrayal she felt from their first marriage.
In her stupor, the wife told the hubby that he could kiss his career goodbye. Not only would she take the kids and everything he had, she would personally see to it that his show was cancelled and the whole world found out about his past and his secrets. He would be a laughingstock, and would be totally ruined.
The husband would not be so docile this time around. The ego from his success and the rage from the alcohol were enough to launch him into a tirade against her and her hypocrisy. If she tried to destroy him, he’d fight back. She just laughed at him, reminding him of the powerful kings of the biz who still loved her and would protect her. The hubby knew he was in deep, and flew into a massive rage by throwing things. They fought like crazy, as the visiting young actor (also drunk) slowly slinked away to his own room trying to stay out of the mess (but could not ignore the fight or the yelling still continuing).
The last thing the young actor could recall was the wife screaming that she wanted to be taken home. She ordered the boat captain to take them to shore. The hubby ordered the captain to go back to bed. He did. Somehow, the wife wound up in the water. The hubby was taunting her, yelling, and making fun of her. In his drunken anger he mocked her helplessness. She yelled for help. That was the last anyone heard.
(continued)
PART THREE:
ReplyDeleteThe hubby later began to sober up and realized his wife did not make it out of the water by herself. He realized the enormity of the whole situation, and he quickly sobered up completely. After dragging the boat captain and the young actor outside, they all agreed to the cover story. They all sobered up very rapidly. The wife would be found later that day. All three were devastated.
The hubby bribed and threatened the captain to keep quiet, keeping him under his thumb. The hubby also hired private detectives to dig up dirt on the young actor, and threatened his life and career. By calling in old favors (from legendary powerful stars with mob ties), the hubby knew the young actor would not risk betrayal (not to mention risking destroying his own career by telling the truth of that night). After all, people in show biz still know the story of Fatty Arbuckle, and also the story of Thomas Ince. Both examples of how scandal can kill, and how cover up can succeed.
The fact is, nobody killed the beautiful young wife. It was truly an accident. But the husband’s refusal to help her would make him responsible. The hubby and the young actor’s scandalous actions would destroy them both. The truth is the hubby never forgave himself, and tried suicide many times. His failures that night have haunted him since, and his feelings of responsibility and shame are equal to that of being as strong as if he had really killed her. He never truly recovered from it.
Several people knew the truth of that night, as well as the actor’s past. Many payoffs, threats, and powerful people have kept it mostly quiet. The young actor who was there that night has told a few people, and he has been driven crazy by the guilt. The husband finally told the children when they became adults, and they eventually forgave their father. They figured having one parent left was better than none, and they accepted his apologies though it did little to quell their own demons. They grew up seeing his torture and hurt, and know it was an accident (even with negligent culpability). The family knows that the truth, and don’t give a damn what the world thinks it is entitled to. She belonged to them, not the world. She was their mom, wife, and friend. The hubby has spent 30-plus years being haunted and tortured far worse than any jail sentence would ever be. So in some ways, justice has been done.
But as they say, the real story will eventually get out. And eventually, it will. The young actor (who is not young anymore) has seen to it that what he knows will see daylight someday, and the now-grown children are fine with that accepting the fact that it could not be hidden forever. In fact, at least one person already knows all the details...
...and he just shared them with you.
Himmmm, I don't care who you are. I just friggin' love reading your posts.
Deleteam i the only one who remmbers reading this story on here before? it was posted by a reader who knew someone in the original investigation.
ReplyDeleteNot now Ironman.
ReplyDelete{types up an invoice for FSP for a new keyboard}
DeleteI love you, blue waffle.
Hmmmm's version matches the story told in the Natalie Wood biography Natasha by Suzanne Finstead. The new claim about Wagner & Walken being caught in a clutch is the only detail she missed. It was just a tragedy from too much booze. They started drinking early in the day & never slowed down.
ReplyDeletelazyday, that was a good book !
DeleteI read that book too...itwasprettyinteresting
DeleteCan't we just use the phone number Himmmmm left and call Natasha up? She has to know whether or not this is true.
ReplyDeleteNice writing, Himmmm!
ReplyDeletepls don't encourage the poseur. it took forever, I'm looking at you.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is still dragging out. Will we ever know if Himmmm's version is true?
ReplyDeletehuh
ReplyDeleteoh looks like Talley Griffin needs some attention again!
ReplyDeleteHey...Himmmm?
Did you get a T-shirt Himmmmm?
ReplyDeleteEverybody who just copied & pasted, in case Himmmmm deletes, SAY HEEEEEEEY.....!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBoats are so dangerous, I've said it again. There are people dying almost monthly in marinas where people regularly live on their boats. It's called "floaters". No conspiracy and many times no drugs or alcohol, just accidents. Boats are dangerous and should always be taken very seriously.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the story Himmmmm.
Me too Loopymommy. Me too!
ReplyDeleteWasn't it awesome? I love how the stories unfold, like reverse origami: Technicolor, old-Hollywood, reverse origami.
Deletebest thread ever
ReplyDeletethis sounds like straight up Lifetime movie. I love it *smirk*
ReplyDeleteEhh. My theory would be that Walken was happily and mistakenly playing them both. He comes along for the boat ride and Natalie thinks he's interested in her.
ReplyDeleteBut she gets a little too wasted at dinner, maybe falls asleep. Maybe she and Wagner haven't slept together in a while. Wagner and Walken hanging out together, maybe doing some more drugs and things just "happen." Natalie wakes up, thinks hubby will be dead drunk, decides to sneak to Walken's bunk. But oops, who should be there but Wagner in a clutch. She's enraged and jealous and starts yelling at them both. Maybe Wagner slugs or pushes her a little too hard. Maybe Walken keeps him in the room so he won't go after her and beat the crap out of her. At which point she decides to leave, gets the dingy, and accidentally goes in the water.
HBD Himmmm
ReplyDeleteHimmmm: Your story sounds all too plausible--terrible things happen because people behave badly or foolishly (but not with genuine malice), and the reverberation of the consequences can last for many, many years. Survivor's guilt... *shakes head sadly*
ReplyDeleteOn a far cheerier note, glad to see you around again! I've got a new recipe for chocolate chip cookie dough truffles (dipped in dark chocolate, no less) that's developing almost as good a reputation as the infamous brownies...perhaps you'll have the chance to try them some time, who knows? ;-)
From what I can recall--yes, I am THAT old--the story was that Natalie had been trying to get into the little life raft and leave the boat when she fell and drowned. If she walked in on her husband and friend getting it on, maybe she simply got pissed and tried to leave on a life raft. The story is no different than it ever has been, this new info only provides a context for her seemingly irrational decision to leave the boat in the middle of the night.

ReplyDeleteMe: I placed a previous comment on a thread saying that I believed this. I was implicating Walken in a gay BI. Maybe you're thinking of that?
ReplyDeletethanks for the story, himmm. always enjoy your posts. safe travels. 48
ReplyDeletePS I believe she did catch them and it wasn't their first time but it was the first time she caught them. Nothing but sheer rage or terror could motivate her to hop in a boat at night in spite of her crippling fear of water.
ReplyDeleteThis new information only makes the story more tragic. himmm, I hope you're right; I hope her kids are at peace with what will come out and who they really knew their mom to be. I hope that not so young actor comes clean so he can live the rest of his life unburdened. I hope, though I don't know if we will see this day, that predatory adults do not shape every promising young stars future. And I hope that beautiful, talented actress/mother/friend/wife can finally rest in peace.
ReplyDelete@Anna - Seems Himmmm backed up some of your theory. I agree with you.
ReplyDelete@Himmm - You should have your own blind item blog. You write so eloquently and engage the reader with your words. Please let us know if you ever decide to start one!
I feel ANYTHING is possible, especially by Hollywood's standards. I don't know why some people automatically rule out plausible theories. Events and circumstances are always preceded by often unpredictable and unimaginable chain of actions. The details in the turmoil are often undeniable.
Could this incident have happened the way @Anna and @Himmm have outlined? ABSOLUTELY! Often times it's ones admiration or infatuation with a celebrity's life and style that makes them not believe or understand how their star could ever be involved in something like this. Considering the uncertainty, rumors and speculation around Ms. Wood's death, it does not surprise me that eventually some one who knows the truth will come out with it. Can't wait to see how Walken, the grown kids or some of the others that know the true details bring it out to the public court.
@Himmm has started and it was a good start! Thanks for filling us in on what you know. You are responsible for opening CDAN reader's eyes and ears a little more about the battle of Hollywood's struggle and survival that the rich and famous endure.
I can hear it coming in the air tonight....
ReplyDeleteInteresting story Himmm. I'm not convinced Walken was involved with Wagner nor that RJ preferred men. I did know people who worked with Natalie and Christopher on that movie but never heard and dirt. Just wanted to brag I knew people. LOL!! Actually a fun fact here : Evan Rachael Woods father played Natalie's date in one scene if I recall the relationship in the movie correctly.
ReplyDeleteI think they need to let Natasha Gregson RIP finally.
YAY! Himmmm is back :) Good to see you (whomver you are) interesting tidbits. Than kyou for sharing
ReplyDelete..and I hate my keyboard.
ReplyDeleteThat would be "thank you" Der
I am a closet medium. Natalie said it wasn't her time to pass. I asked her if she had a message to give to her children. I told her I couldn't guarantee they would hear or see it. She said tell them I'm sorry and I love them. I guided her to the light and let her know she is home.
ReplyDeleteIt's ok if you don't believe me. She said her death was an accident.
sounds plausible to me. if she walked in on them having sex, and was a but tipsy to begin with, she could have ran off in a panic, which would have been, trying to get on a buoy, and then subsequently, drowning.
ReplyDeleteI personally could care less who Himmm is if its talley, the pizza boy or *?*
ReplyDeleteI agree it was a terrible tragic accident, would be interested in knowing if Himmm has read Thomas Noguchi's book "Coroner" in which he writes about his autopsies for several famous people including Natalie.
pity Suzanne Finstead wasn't at the 2018 golden globes when they wheeled out kirk douglas
